Discussion time!

what do you love more, light fantasy or dark fantasy and why?

I love all fantasy but I tend to like dark fantasy a bit more because they tend to have a charming sociopathic, genius, anti-hero as the protaganist (think "Six of Crows- Kaz Brekker"), and that's my favorite type of character, but that's not to say that dark fantasy can't have a normal good hero, but I just like it even then.

Light fantasy, because if the characters are miserable I get unhappy too. I do like Six of Crows though, my idea of dark fantasy is more Joe Abercrombie.

Ah no. I certainly don't like grimdark, which I feel that Joe Abercombie is. For me there's a difference between dark and grimdark. As grimdark is more a world where the characters are really terrible and don't make you root for them in any way and the world that they are living in is horrible too. In dark its a more tamed down version of everything. (In my most humble opinion.)
