Mike blurted out.

"I was responsible for this, so I should take the blame. Please don't exclude them, I am the one who was in charge, so I should carry the consequences."

He'd already spent a year at the hospital, looking for interesting strangers. There was no chance he'd ever advance, he made so many mistakes already. But maybe he could help the others. Hopefully they wouldn't send him into the Alleys a second time.

Mr. Itiah sighed, sitting down on his couch. He twiddled his thumbs. When had underlings become so selfless? He shook his head. You didn’t get too connected with underlings. There were too many, too expendable to try and form a connection.

“It’s not my choice,” he said finally. Such was the consequence of failure. He paused.

“You’ve provided useful intel though, if your correct about the info you gave me it could be the most useful reconnaissance mission this month. So you and your team might definitely be picked for that, but that’s the best I can do.”

“You can go anywhere, I doubt the Council really cares.” He chortled, and took out some more note paper and another pencil, writing down the names of the people Mike had mentioned. When he wrote dow Wes’ name he nodded. So that was the guy Mr. Itiah had suggested. He needed to write down the names so if the team was needed again they could be located.

“Do you guys have a team name or something?” Mr. Itiah asked, when he was tilting the note. “It would be terrible to call this ‘Untitled team #86’.”

Mike looked at his friends. A name? Did that mean they were a real team now? Like the older, more experienced ones were?

"Do you have an idea?"

He asked them excitedly.

“If you could be a little faster, that would be great.” Still, he couldn’t stop a small smile. They were pretty much kids, what else did he expect them to do?
