Mejin cautiously entered the bar. It was as messy as she had remembered. Holding the broom she had brought with her, she began sweeping some broken furniture into a pile.

Not to her surprise, no one glanced her way.

Mejin chuckled. When her mother had told her to go clean up her mess she had told her that the results weren’t that bad. That none of it was her fault.

But her mother was a decent person and so was she.

And so, Mejin half-heartedly swept at the floor. She knew her task was impossible and didn’t really plan on completing it. Mejin only planned to do enough to make her mother happy.

In otherwords, bring the mess away from the door.

No way was she wasting bendalloy on this.

Rashan heard a couple steps sound behind him, but couldn't get himself to look back at the newcomer. He had caused this mess, this Ruin. He'd done his job, though. His mission.

Yet, you can't even remember the reason why you killed that poor lady!

It was the truth. His spren always always told him the truth, something he was growing accustomed to. The harsh truth. Rashan quietly ignored her. The words still remained. Maybe if Rashan looked back at his mission notes, he would remember the reason, though he doubted visiting that memory again would do him any good.

His spren called herself Veolasitina, but Rashan dubbed her Veo for short. As he went back to his drink, he heard another quiet sound from behind him. Whoever had entered the bar, they hadn't gone out, and we're still hanging about, behind him. Rashan looked back, taking a quick look, and saw a young woman cleaning some of the mess. How odd.

Rashan sighed, looking back to his drink.

"I mean, you would become one of us, be a part of something bigger." Solace said. "Have access to our secrets. The technology we are developing. The Investiture research we are conducting."

Devaan took out the invite he given earlier via TDS© and mulled over solace's proposition. He tapped gold to clear his intoxication and then replied with a dangerous tone

"part of something bigger? careful what you say"

Devaan began to take out his playing cards and laid them out in a seemingly random order, face down, turning the over one by one. When the last card was turned over he studied them for a moment.

"I accept, I'll be an honorary member"

"I won't require you to get a tattoo. If you want one get one, but you don't have to. As for careful, caution is of the upmost importance to me and what I am trying to accomplish."

Solace took another sip of the lager. He sat and thought a moment.

"You will be a valuable member. I would like it if you would train my men in warfare combat. We are assassins, not soldiers. Though with what is coming we will need both."

Kane stole the stone anyway, since Oathstones aren't magical. Kane got Amberite under the stone and therefore obtained it.

"Training soldiers? That will be interesting. I would like to take a tour around Rhazien's palace before the ball."

@Mraize feel free to make a thread for your palace that can be used as the ball thread as well.

It took Mejin less time than anticipated to clear an open space from the door to opposite end of the bar.

Looking at what she’d accomplished, she sighed.

No saying I didn’t do my fair share Mother.

She turned and exited the building for the second time that day.

Kane left the building, cloak swishing behind him. He had completed Phase 1 by obtaining the Oathstone. Now for Phase 2. He grew an Amberite ladder and climbed to the roof. He couldn't use Stormlight for this part. It was too well-known. Now, for the tricky part. Kane Soulcast a section of the roof into air, then fingered his detonator. He silently lowered the bomb in on an Amberite hook, dropped the bomb off, pulled the hook back up, and Soulcast the section of the roof back into wood. He leapt off the roof and clicked the detonator.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, did you just BOMB THE BAR?

Mejin turned at the sound of an explosion.

Ruins now lay where she had stood not long ago.

Glad I left when I did. She thought clutching her broom.

I think he did.

Seriously dude? The nice lady just finished sweeping.

Fortunately, a small section of the area that had been recently been cleaned miraculously managed to retain its pristine condition. Thus, Mejin's work hadn't been entirely for naught.

well then, thats storming delightful

Devaan, now sober began searching the room. Something didn't feel right about this place. The mood was too sombre from the mess to come from the run-of-the-mill bar fight. He began fiddling with his nicrocil deck. running his hand along the entire deck as he discussed with Solace and Rashan.

Then he saw something.

Out of reflex Devaan used allomatic bendalloy, thank harmony that Four of books was the card on top of the deck, or he would be dead.

He inspected the bomb that floated through the air in a slow arc. He saw it glowing softly.

"A bomb?" Solace said angrily

"It appears so. I'll take this one" Devaan replied

Decaan searched through his deck quickly, finding the card, Ten of shields. Aon Edo. A sigil flashed in the air, then a dome of light surrounded the table. Dropping the bendalloy bubble, the explosion left the bar in ruins, but left his table and the people on it intact.

"Any idea who that was?" Rashan asked, finishing his drink

"Lets give him a week to live, if I'm being generous" Devaan said, his voice dangerously low

The bomb was not, well, a bomb. It was a primer cube that Steelpushes extremely hard in all directions. It wasn't fire and bang, it was blast everything. It flattened the bar. It is a wreckage.

A space marine turned the corner, walking towards the wreckage of the bar. His armor was jet black, decorated with skull iconography and holy scrolls, pressed onto the ceramite armor with melted wax. He wore a black hood over a skull-shaped helm. He was, for some reason, carrying a cardboard sign in one hand.

The space marine sat on a large piece of rubble across from the bar and set his cardboard sign in front of him, leaning against the rubble.

Convince me you're not a heretic

it said, in scrawled handwriting.

The space marine folded his arms and waited.

No, this isn't a new character, just me goofing off.

A cloaked figure appeared nearby, looking at the wreckage of the bar before sitting down in a nearby alley and beginning to carve something into the surface of a metallic spike.

Despite the relief of not getting blown-up, Mejin was not happy. She held her broom tightly.

What was the point of bombing the building anyways? It already was a mess.

At least whoever owned the place could redesign. Maybe buy some new furniture.

A scraping sound turned her around. A man was carving into metal.

These people are interesting. She thought and turned once more to walk off.

She knew she probably wouldn’t get far. There always was a reason to come back.

Having finished its work, the cloaked figure strode towards the bar, metal spike in hand, then stabbed it into a piece of the wreckage.
Pieces of wood, stone and shattered glass flew through the air before coalescing into a whole.

And there stood the bar, reformed once again, though some of the previous mess remained.

People, stop worrying! Kane was hired by Kothar to renovate the bar! He purposely put the Bendalloy Card at the top of the deck and got the Oathstone out so it wouldn't go missing! He is now going to fix the bar! Jeez!

Kane blew up the bar again.

Then he Soulcast air into fresh, wooden walls, beautiful stained glass for windows, ivory for the doorknob, and the ground into polished marble!

"I love renovations."

Mejin looked to the man next to her. He had just blown up a reconstructed bar and built his own.

”Was it you?” she asked, harshly sticking the end of her broom under his chin. “Were you the one who blew it up right after I cleaned it?”
