*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh* Fine... It's not like we abide by our own rules anyway... It can probably be explained away by Ruin's Connection to the Realm he's going to.... Ah, well. Love your rank BTW. ;)

*Has ideas*

*Does not have time to explain*

Michael stared at the spot where the figure had disappeared, mouth hanging open.

“Withergeist,” he said in a distant, slightly strangled voice. “Oh, the fool… he let it escape?” He groaned, sitting down with a thump on an invisible bench. “That explains why it has Narrativium,” he muttered. “Oh, dear…”

He’d thought Tom would be able to keep the thing trapped in whatever device he’d used. He’d considered the possibility when the withergeist had first shown up, but a quick check had dispelled that possibility. At least, he’d thought it had. Really, he should have known better. His Author never left threads like that dangling if he could grab them. Of course the withergeist would be Shadow’s mark. And since it was, why wouldn’t it draw Narrativium from BoS?

He’d thought at first that it was a more or less mindless being, meant only for Xinoehp or SoT or whoever else got involved. It would wreak havoc, true- but only here, where it could be contained. If it was trying to escape….

Alarm bells began going off inside his mind. Nonchalantly, he stood up and called on Silence, warping himself to the TLT mime chapter base.

––––––

It was chaos.

Mimes were running every which way as shadowy figures like dark ghosts moved silently among them. One touch, and a mime would collapse in agony, mouths opening in a silent scream as they were slowly transformed into living husks.

Sweet Author above, breathed Michael, horrified.

Sophie was confused. And terrified. She put her forcefield up again. She didn't know what to do. And so, true to her cowardly nature, she ran away and hid, hating herself for it.

At that moment Xinoehp woke up.

There was a need for him somewhere. He could feel it.

He stood up and began to run, still only half awake. He would find what was broken. He would.

Sophie saw what Xino was doing. Her mind was expanded in a way that let her hear any and all Narration on TLT. He was a hero. He didn't run away. Even when he was unconscious, he'd fight. Not her. She was a coward. A disgrace. She curled up into a ball and wept.

“Why hello Sophie, I see we are very chipper today.” Ruin quietly entered the thread, appearing as Reen sitting on a chair sipping some tea.

BoS, in fact, did not have enough of the Narrativium for Ruin to use. It needed more.

It didn't need a whole lot, it just used the mime's gates. It's actually impossible for a gate made by tearing reality to allow for people to cross without an amount of Narrativium several times greater that what currently exists.

Across the world, small withergeists began to pop into existence, withering plants, animals, or whatever else they could get their hands on as they began to travel across the landscape.

Sophie began to cry harder. "Leave me alone," she said. "I know what you are. I know what you want."

The grass around her died, but within her forcefield bubble, it stayed green and alive. If this continued, then Sophie would be left alone. Forever.

Can we please just do this? Then we will return to CBST.

So are withergiests like balefire?

A small contingent of withergiests attacked Ruin.

No, they are apart of Ruin.

Ruin just shook its head. “If only you could understand…”

Michael hopped away from the horrible scene, retreating to a space of his own creation. He needed some time to think. This was a disaster, to be true, but there were ways to deal with any disaster. He just had to stay calm and think through things logically.

First order of business, he muttered to himself. Close the gates...

He reached out with Silence and swung. With a distinctive snipping sound, every portal between Reality Prime and S disintegrated into nothingness.

No.

Only briefly, however. Within a moment, the telepath that had controlled them was dead, and they went back to Ruin's bidding.

CBST is the Plot thread

But CBST isn't the only universe.

Except it only fell in relation to Sophie. It continued to rise in relation to the rest of the universe as beacon of hope that the darkness of the withergiests could be defeated.
