9/10 narrowed his eyes at the corrective impression, but reappeared at the top of Urithiru.

It was below him

9/10 glanced suspiciously at Ribbon, then descended a flight of steps into Urithiru’s interior. The feeling grew more intense as he made his way downwards.

It was getting closer and closer, until it settled just beyond a door in a narrow hall.

He did. Attempting to recreate a casual air, 9/10 pushed through the door and glanced about the room inside.

A man was scribbling furiously on a sort of clipboard, seated at the end of this hallway. Without looking up, he said, "Back so soon?"

Ribbon shook her head. "I have never heard of an Author killing blade, aside from the fabled Ban Hammer- although we are not worthy enough to wield its power. I am talking about the Plotblade of Plot Significance, which was made by my creator around page 2540 to defeat Desolation."

salt hummed. "I see. Where is it? If you have a plot blade then you should be able to summon it no?"

9/10 was immediately befuddled, and the confusion was apparent on his face as he hesitated, trying to formulate a reply.

"It's not my Plotblade, actually." Ribbon said. "It's kinda... it's own thing."

He clears his throat, then speaks. “Sorry, someone sent me looking for a monster, I must be mistaken- what was your name?”

He laughed. "I am a monster to some. You better best not know my name. Better in the long run, eh?"

“Then I take it you’re not an original Rosharan,” 9/10 asked. “Look, I have a job to do, so you’d better explain yourself before I get impatient.” He reaches around and scratches an itch on the back of his neck, drawing attention to the dagger hanging there.

Skylight was sitting next to the fire, holding his Plotblade and staring at his namesake. He remembered the fiasco at the seminar a few weeks ago, the fierce battle and the spoils he gained.

The fire danced in the darkness, providing much needed warmth. He had conquered his inner Voice, and he deserved that break. During that time, he had practiced with the Blade, trying to find the trait it embodied. For a while, it had been a fruitless endeavor. The legendary Blade was just a hunk of steel.

Even when some bandits showed up, there Blade remained its useless form.

Maybe he could find his friends again soon, and join them in combat once more.

Hey! You caught me monologuing!

Then some bandits showed up. It should have been an easy fight, but something weird happened. The blade flashed as Skylight parried his opponent. The other man’s sword caught his own in just the right way, injuring Skylights wrist. There was a quick follow up with the mordite blade from the seminar, but that was a strange coincidence. After some reckless adventures, Skylight decided on a name for his new Blade. Twist.

Maybe he could find his friends again soon, and join them in combat once more.

Nameless never did give me the name of the Blade, so I’m just gonna run with this.

I have an idea for a Plotblade. Nonvoluntary (for the characters, not the author), involving two people, preferably enemies. Also, Plot Twist is already a blade name, so I hope that’s not a problem. Maybe Neutral Party? Wins as long as it’s holder’s views fall between two other opponents?

Let me edit my post real quick, and I’ll decide on the blade name later. Thanks for the info.

"You'd kill me? Based on the presumptions of others?" The man didn't look concerned

“It’s not hard after the fourth or fifth… omnicide. But more that I would like you to convince me not to without mentioning morality. I’ve got enough moral quandaries as is.”

"You, my friend, have fallen upon the Burden of Proof fallacy." He cracked a smile, and then stared directly into the soul of 9/10.

9/10 must make an intelligence saving throw.

Ribbon nodded (for the fourth time in a row). "Let's see. Last time I used a 'find anything' device that I don't have anymore. Happen to have any locators?"

No, to be honest. You can do it anywhere. I’ll give you this opportunity, though.

9/10 nearly falls for it before he remembers he escaped a wizards of the coast worldline a long time ago and is no longer bound by that ruleset. He begins to compose a reply- wait. No. This won’t work out well. And it’s not his way. He remembers, in a world infected by creative entropy, the best way to kill a character is to leave it alone. And so he ignores the man, ignores the quest, ignores the world. A bubble of flawspace appears around Ribbon and himself,  neutral space where mordite, luxite, prismite, and nullite don’t function. Curiously, an old door invades 9/10’s void.

He found that the more he tried to expand the bubble, the more the space resisted him. Clearly this dimension was bound by different rules.

"Won't work here, hun." The strange man said, "I constructed this dimension myself. I know it's boundaries."

The door, of course, still remained.
