It is only foolish to those who are not truly evil. Your offer is meaningless to me, and so I will not offer any information meaningful to you, regardless of how worthless it may be to me.

"Of course you are. Watch for weakness, for the location of the Pages. It will not work, of course."

Fog could find nothing. She could see dimly Malevolence's thoughts, guarded though they were, and his recent memories. But when she looked for the location of the pages, all she saw was a blank darkness.

It is foolish to those with sense. Good and evil are measurements of morality, nothing more. Constraining yourself to one or the other achieves nothing. I see the sense of constraint to good, because the point is the sacrifice. But I see no sense in constraint to evil, else this provides power otherwise unavailable.

I leave this singularity with you, should you change your mind.

A pearl formed in Malevolence's possession, tinted a blue on top of the darkness. He could not rid himself of it.

Inkwell idly begins practicing sketching a girl, in pencil, as it has been a long time and he was never quite spectacular drawing the female form in the first place. But this would have to be perfect. @Honors Ghost

Ok ok here sorry my lesson ran long, we’re working on Strausses Nocturno and both of us are nerds and started yappin abt it and we whatevs it unimportant

Isabel breaks the long silence with an almost mumbled “…purple hair……. Could I have spilt purple hair?” She thinks a bit longer “light tan skin just enough that people know I go outside” she looks down at the disgusting flannel she’s wearing “and new clothes, definitely, everything from ball gowns to crop tops and booty shorts, to leather jackets and baggy jeans…” she thinks “black nails with flecks of white like stars” she nods “thanks inkwell I took so long to think”

"Oh? And why will my imaginary plan not work?"

She sighed to herself. She knew it wouldn't be that easy . . .

“Because I am better than you.” Malevolence said flatly. “I am more experienced than you. I am more intelligent than you. And I am more evil than you.”

Evil has no limitations. Evil is the pathway to power. Without evil, all power is useless.

Malevolence put the pearl into a scanner to determine its properties.

And why is this?

The pearl was as the figure, disfigured, said. A shell of Ordered Dark limited the flow of the immense Chaotic Dark within. He saw a mechanism to release the Chaotic Dark, as well as a mechanism to absorb it into his being.

Huh, cool. If you like the classical style, you might enjoy Ivory’s Whitepine soundtrack. She’s a trans pianist who is basically responsible for me liking music.
Inkwell flipped through the book, turning to a different page. He looked up for a moment, studying Isabel’s posture. Her eyes. Her facial expression. He began copying these attributes of who Isabel was, as opposed to the body she occupied, onto the page. The hair, the nails. He added eyes which matched the hair, purple, and the healthy skin color. “The clothes, the clothes… how to do the clothes…” he mused. He retraced the current outfit, just a casual pair of jeans and a T-shirt, then retraced it again and again. Pouring more and more ink, more Splendorlight, more prismite into the image. “I’m infusing the new form with a little of the prismite from the pen,” he commented. “If the Intent fits right, you should be able to transform your clothes to what fits you, or makeup, or even disguise yourself. I think.” He finished the drawing, ripping out the page and handing it to Isabel along with the pen. “Sign here!”

Actually the TLT system is very very similar to the Great Spirits system (coincidentally).

Great Spirits uses

The Eye of Ember (Chaotic Creation)

The Eye of Ash (Chaotic Destruction)

The Slumber (Order)

The instant she does, she suddenly finds herself in a completely different body. Inkwell snatches Shadowlight and the drawing from the man before he can get any ideas, handing the drawing to Isabel. “Hold on to that. Don’t let it get damaged. Not sure what would happen to you if it were destroyed, but whenever I’ve destroyed any of my drawings the object… tends to dissolve into ink and shadows and promptly disappear. So don’t lose it.”

She told me too, ye.

I wanna revisit the short story and make it better, but the mechanics behind it are so fun.

The Slumber always overcomes any amount of Chaos.

Spoiler

(Madness is the result of basically what I just gave Malevolence, except Chaotic Creation rather than Destruction)

(Rage is mostly Chaotic energies, taking energy from both the Ember and the Ash. A loose web of Slumber from Madness constrains him.)

(Intellect is like Rage, but he was infected by a large amount of Slumber prior to being granted the power. It’s why he is Ice and Rage is Fire.)

(Mirth has a construct (Afterimage) with her of Chaotic Creation and Slumber at the time she got her powers, giving her greater control over them than Intellect and Rage… and placing her on a level similar to that of Madness’.)

(Madness, who was the intended recipient of the powers, retained her memories. The others lost their memories, and did not know the extent of their abilities.)

(The Archstone was created by Madness to bind the others to a reality, under the guise of creating a new world. They agreed to give up some powers to create the framework, but did not fully understand the powers they gave up. Madness also gave up power, but was willing to do so while she found a way to get an advantage over them. Intellect, however, saw the dangers and hid the Archstone from her sight. Only when she shared a Servant with Mirth and Rage could she see the Archstone and intact her plans.)

Fog watched with mild interest.

Malevolence eyed her back.

“Only if it is not true.”

he glanced at Darkseeker again. It was now a short sword with a single edge.

”I would advise you to go ahead and make your move. In all my time as a villain, I have never accomplished anything by waiting around. Action and courage are required.”

Because power can only be used to reach goals. Evil gives the goal, and the means to reach it.

Malevolence picked up the pearl and placed it in his pocket.

If I failed to claim the Witherlord, then I would rather die than use this pearl. It would only enslave me to whoever had claimed it.

She laughed a genuinely amused laugh.

"How righteous of you, acting like just because you failed at something, that means no one else can succeed. In any case," she said, jabbing a smokey finger in his direction, "I have not made my decision yet, so stop pretending like you know better."

When do you think you'll do the ritual?

You believe that one will claim the Witherlord. I am inclined to disagree. I can show you, however, how to use the Order present to separate your being from their influence.

I disagree with your philosophy, as is obvious. If the point of evil is power, then “true evil” does not exist. For there are no principles that I must adhere to in my search for power. Only what benefits me.

Me? I am not a withergeist, Ribbon. I am human, for now still capable of love. I merely choose to despise love as the weakness it truly is. But know this: Fog cares nothing for you. Because of her nature as a withergeist, it is impossible for her to care for you. I know this for a fact, and can prove it by her own words. He let that last sentence hang in Ribbon's mind for a moment. And I am also the only one who can heal her.

Ribbon paused for a second to sift through Malevolence's words. She chose her words carefully.

I don't need you to cure her for me, Ribbon said softly to Malevolence, I think that she's perfect as she is right now.

The man regains his senses and tries to punch Inkwell, who dodges, grabbing the sketchbook and making a very crude sketch of the man‘s clothes. It transforms into ink and holds him in place. “How about you stay put for the moment.” Night, can you find someplace for this guy, he thinks. The starhawk screeches a goodbye to Isabel and Cleo, then flies to the man and lands on it. With a triumphant cry, they both vanish, the man taken away to a world where people are forced to undergo therapy, because the man clearly needs it. “So. Glad I could help. I’ve got to try and find some way to help stop the evil intern from summoning thrift store Sauron and destroying-“ he gestured wildly to everything around him. “All of this. So that’s great.”

Suddenly, the starhawk appears and takes Inkwell… elsewhere. Without permission or warning.
