A crime syndicate with access to Nullite seemed like an important thing to know about. - “I wouldn’t trust me either, but I never lie.” Rebus took a long, slow breath. Then he snapped his sword forwards, leaning into the strike. Cricket parried the blow, breathing hard, and tried to circle around him, slicing at his side. 1

"We just need to borrow the Plotblade you have there. That's it." There was a moment of silence. "I will fight the child of shadow in a duel for the Plotblade," He said, "that is my only offer." Erdikan remained tense. “A duel on what terms?”

Kansas Stormcursed he/him Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Asharak finally felt his Author's attention turn back to him. He needed to have a conversation with him about that later; Asharak was often left hanging, particularly when not involved in other plots. For now, though, he would take the time he had. He walked inside the house. The old man was still reclined in his chair, but now he seemed almost unnaturally still. His chest barely rose and fell. He turned his head a fraction as Asharak entered. "Ahh," he rasped, eyes still closed. "Good. Just...just in the nick...of time." He had to pause to breathe in every few syllables. "Good. Just remember...what you know. Trust...above all else...your heart. Let it...guide...your actions. And...know...the limitations. You can never...be...where you need...to be...before the time is right. And...you might...be late. Know this." He heaved a long, shallow sigh. "And now...my time has passed. I have...served...my purpose." He breathed a last breath and faded out. Asharak bowed his head briefly in respect, then stepped to the fireplace, which now lay cold and empty. He reached up, and reverently, carefully pulled down the ornate blade hanging there. As he grabbed it shrank, becoming a simple katana. Yet the air around it almost seemed to warp, and it frequently seemed to shift slightly in space. Asharak summoned a sheath for it, and slid it in. There. That felt right. It also felt right to walk out, though he could have just blinked out of existence. As he strode out, first the house, and then the entire clearing, faded away behind him, as if it had never been there at all. 10 minutes ago, Keke said: They put their head in their hands. "I cant! Im not meant for this! Any of it!" "Then he is lost."

He wasn’t sure how the thing saw, but it could clearly sense him still. A harrowing laugh followed, as the guardian absorbed the darkness, with his pale flames flaring as he cackled. He turned on his heel and slammed down the Plotblade where Erdikan teleported from, scattering his signature flames when the weapon hit the floor. Lavender sand from the floor erupted from the impact of the blow, suddenly suspended in the air by the huge blow. He reached out with a veiled hand and conjured the sandy particles into a ball. After imbuing it with the light of his lime flames, he then launched three of these projectiles in quick succession at Erdikan.
