They arrived back at the town where the chief was. Beosta swing her leg over the saddle, then winced again. Maybe she shouldn’t have ridden— her skin felt stretched and she was pretty sure she was still bleeding.

”Here we are! Sort of. To get to unreal space, I believe we… Hm. There’s supposed to be some sand around here. We sprinkle it on our foreheads and go to sleep. If my memory serves me right, that is. Which, I believe it does.” Sequence looked around. “I don’t see the sand though.”

The hospital people tsked about Beosta, wrapped her up in bandages, and made her lie down despite her protests.

Roth did appear. Beosta brightened. 

“Your CD is not over,” he told her without preamble (I’ll fix the dialogue later). “I am, however, impressed.” 

Beosta’s heart fell. “Why not?”

”Livetha did very little, if anything. The point of the CD is that you work together.”

Beosta looked down at her hands, frustration bubbling up inside her.

Bro, ew. But that did happen to me one time. Thankfully it was a normal fly and not a Bacon-fly.

Shoe ran into the hospital. Shoot! He hadn't seen where Beosta had gone. He got his pad out and wrote, Have you seen another person who looks like me? then showed it to various people. Most shook their heads, but a few here and there were able to direct him through various hallways. He sprinted through the corridors, gasping for breath. After all this time- Who'd've thought- I can't miss this! I CAN'T!
