Sugar was furious. That had been his last chance of escape.

Sugar was already free. He laughed at the pathetic attempt to re-imprison him, then sent a massive recoil blast along Xinoehp's attempted narration.

Little did he know that everything he was doing was a lie cooked up by Truthless. He was, in fact, still trapped inside the elephant's brain.

Sugar was not stuck in the elephant's mind, as it had never been there in the first place. The elephant was corrupted by Sugar, Sugar wasn't inhabiting the elephant.

Then Ruin reached for the Witherlord's hand, and proceeded to rip it off.

Or at least, he tried. He'd lost all his power, so he failed.

Whether or not Sugar was "physically" trapped didn't really matter, however, as Sugar had never been a primarily corporeal being in the first place. The important thing was that the elephant's mindspace was being used to encapsulate Sugar's actions. In short, he thought he was free, but nothing he was doing was actually real- it was all just the elephant's dream.

So Ruin decided to steal back his power from the Witherlord. It did CrossFit, triathlons, biathlons, The Olympics, and even the X games. Then it was finally read to rip off the Witherlord's limb.

But during all that time training, the Witherlord had sadly passed away. He had a beautiful funeral.

In fact, Ruin had failed to leave the dreamseed.

Jacob watched the events unfolding with interest. He summoned his clipboard. Then he summoned his pen.

But nothing came.
His heart rate jumped up a beat or two. He tried summoning it again. No luck.
What was this? His pen should be completely invulnerable to theft. It was completely cut off from everything. He'd hidden it practically inside his soul, for goodness sake!
And besides, he had Fate protecting it. He would never allow another Author to steal such a valuable possession. Surely?
Feeling unease creep through his veins, he called Fate to answer for what had happened.

Narrator Ene appeared in a flash of blue light. “Hi, I’m still catching up on what’s happened in the last several hundred pages,” she said, grinning at everyone in her vicinity. “Just wanted to pop in every now and then so I can say I was around in the 900s when they write the history books. Have fun fighting the candy...I think that’s what you’re doing...anyway, bye.” With another flash, she was gone.

No answer. No answer.

Jacob began to break into a cold sweat, attempting to summon his pen again and again. Still, no luck.

He kept his demeanor calm, however. The worst that could happen to him was only death, after all.

@AonEne Yessssss you joined! You don't have to read the past pages if you don't want to, you can have literally anything happen.

A jelly belly challenged Ruin to a crossfit competition.

To say that all of Sugars power was being used to create an avatar would be like saying that all of Ruin's power was inside of a single bead of Atium. Less than 0.0E100000% of Sugar's power was in the elephant.

Oh, I’m not going to be keeping up with this, just occasionally appearing every few tens of pages probably. I don’t like joining stuff I haven’t read the entirety of most of the time, sorry.

Ruin looked at it for a moment, then smiled. The jelly baby's state of fitness dissolved. "I accept your challenge." Ruin said.

The beauty was, it didn't matter. By entering the mindspace of the elephant, Sugar had unwittingly trapped himself. He couldn't escape simply because he didn't know he was trapped.

He didn't "enter the mindspace" any more than Odium "enters the mindspace" of the fused. Even if he had, one narrator would have no chance at overpowering him.

It was revealed to Nameless that the elephant had not been corrupted but possesed. Except that Sugar wasn't the first to get there.

For the elephants brain had been fortified with the renewed Healthium-dreamseed ingot.

But the ingot was tainted by the hand of the shadow beyond, who was killed because he lived in extra-dimensional space when it was destroyed. The taint, however, remained.

The death of this character was decided to be retconned for later incorporation.

"Hello," whispered a voice in cracked, hissing tones. The Witherlord materialized out of the shadow.

"Looking for this?" he said, lips turning up in a sinister smile as he extended his hand and revealed to Jacob his pen.

In the rubble, Stick found something, it seemed to have the power to dissolve Narrativium, so he quickly scooped it up into a pump bottle and labeled it “Conditioner,” then hid it in his personal Narrative Plane.
