I'm not sure, said Michael. The situation doesn't look good, does it? Not just one but two villains, both with an army of immortal death-ghosts.

1 hour ago, Jaywalk said:

Jaywalk warped in. “Granite. Stay away from her.”

Jaywalk suddenly heard the rattling breath of a withergeist directly behind him.

"No... no it doesn't... But... Michael. CBST is safe. Why isn't it affecting them there?"

I cut them off, said Michael grimly. Nothing can escape here now. Including us.

But the withergeist had left its mark, and its kindred were called. One, then two, then five began drifting towards Havel, hissing and moaning.

Unhindered, the withergeist brushed its ghostly hand against Jaywalk, screeching in triumph as it began to bond with him.

Luckily, Truthless ate all of the withergeist right before they got to Jaywalk. He had specifically designed his stomach to be withergeist proof, so he would be fine. He had heard they were delicious, as well.

He had only time for an exclamation of dismay before the withergeists devoured him from the inside out, leaving behind only a medium-sized pile of ash.

Eyes suddenly sprouted from the pile of ash. “Get back here you lilly-livered, wall-eyed, much-suckin’ withergeists!! I’m not done throwing my old man curses at you yet!!”

A withergeist curled around Astral's leg, slithering up her black, leather pants. She smiled, picking it up with her grey fingers. "Hello, little one," she said. The withergeist hissed at her and she chuckled, petting it. "Hush now. You know my essence." The little creature purred. "That's better. Now run along. Tell your little friends about me." The withergeist extended its wings and flew off her finger, screeching terribly. Astral smiled.

FT wrung his hands. He really should be able to do something. He usually tried to stay out of people's way---he didn't like emotional conflict---but it seemed he should try something.

Ruin approached Astral. “Hello, Queen of Shadows.” It went down on one knee and took her hand and kissed it.

Astral smiled her black-lipped smile and chuckled. "Ruin," she said in greeting. "What a pleasant surprise. I should have known your handiwork when I saw it."
