Bob turned back towards the spear. For some reason, he felt he had to pick it up. His hand inched closer and closer to it until he.. suddenly yanked his hand back in shock. He hadn't come that close to picking up a non-paper weapon, much less one not made by his own hand. He shook his head and glanced one last time at the spear before continuing forward. "It was really a shame, such a beautiful weapon, if only it had been made of paper," Bob thought as he walked.

Bob stares at Job with wide eyes. "But how do we do that with wind?"

Bob stands there still looking confused. "Sooo, how exactly do we do this? I'm still really confused with how we're gonna, you know, defeat the wind and all."

The vault looked different from what Bacon remembered. it's walls were darkened and crackled with Ennulling energy. Further, he did not seem to be in the same place any longer. No longer did Bacon feel gentle ambience of Sequence's world. now he felt only emptiness around him.

A door opened at the far end of the Vault, and Malevolence stepped through. "Now, the moment of truth." The villain Had changed since Bacon last had seen him circular scars covered his face, and instead of his typical technological suit of armor he held a wicked black battle axe. "Are my protections sufficient to keep you trapped here? They were intended to prevent Rebus from teleporting in, but will they prevent you from teleporting out?"

Context: Malevolence revealed his intent to claim the Witherord while you were gone. After sequence's death Everyone/Ivisyre took control of Sequence's world and former status as a narrator, so Malevolence teleported the vault holding bacon to another location so that he could keep control of it and take the pages from Bacon once you returned. He also got a cool Mordite weapon from the Dreamsmith that changes with his soul. Post where he revealed himself.

Bob again turned back towards the spear. For some reason, he felt like he needed to pick it up. He felt drawn to it. He barely noticed that he had walked up to it until he was only inches away. His breathing suddenly quickened. "No," he thought to himself, "I won't go back... But it's such a beautiful weapon, and bringing it along won't hurt that much." Bob slowly removes a piece of paper from his pocket, wraps it around the end of the spear and lifts it from the ground, making sure to only touch the paper and not the actual spear. Then he walked back to Job and the wind with a smile on his face, after all what was the worst that could happen?

Spoiler

You might try to meet Bacon. He’s probably got some idea of what to do about the situation. Here’s his location… 9/10mmHB#2 impressed Bacon’s physical location in the Thread to Inkwell.

Inkwell nodded, drew Futility, and cut into the fabric of reality, emerging a distance away from Bacon. The rift bled electromagnetic radiation, the mordite not just piercing, but biting into the fabric of reality itself, making Inkwell invisible for a few moments as the rift sizzled shut. He assessed the situation.

Malevolence sneered, leveling Darkseeker at Bacon’s heart. “I’ll make this easy. Give me the Pages, and I will allow you to continue living.” Drops of liquid darkness began collecting along the axe’s edge, dripping to the ground with a hiss.

There are multiple Bacons, and the one where Malevolence is would be very difficult to get to. That Bacon is inside a vault designed by Malevolence, Sequence, and Cricket to keep out Rebus.

Inkwell stared at the vault. Apparently Rebus wasn’t able to get inside. He tried to get his train of thought to go somewhere else besides “build a house inside” but it seemed to be quite fixated on the idea. He eventually shrugged, deciding that an infinitely sharp blade designed to cut through the fabric of reality should probably be able to do the job, even without factoring in mordite alloys. He sauntered up to the vault wall and stabbed the thing with Futility- actually, that might be a bad idea. Best to leave the thing intact for later. How did Malevolence get in? He stared, confused. “I don’t suppose you know what this is made of or how it works, do you?”, he said aloud to 9/10.

Nope. Just cut in. Violence is always the answer. Cleo chirped encouragingly, with a hint of confusion.

“Don’t teach her that. Seriously, you have no idea?”
