She laughed softly.

"It's alright. You had quite the strange adventure just now, didn't you?"

Slowly, he nods.

Spoiler

You could call it that. More like a fever dream…

This is almost normal. I don’t think she senses me. You might be able to do something useful for once.

"Fever dreams aren't necessarily a bad thing," she said with a tilt of her "head."

"What's your name?"

Immediately, 9/10mmHB#2 tries to seize control and run away, but Inkwell isn’t fazed, and he rebuffs the attempt. “It wouldn’t mean much to you. You can call me Inkwell, I guess.”

Spoiler

Get out of here! Get back to the plot! Any plot!

Yes, but Inkwell has no idea what you are talking about.

9/10mmHB#2 would like to point out that his author posted last and after that point the Thread has stalled yet again. If he has to destroy the End Portals he will.
Of course, the Plot could always be reassembled. Maybe Inkwell didn’t need to be a villain.

I don’t know who you’re trying to get i&9 to find, the inkling who has the Shield?

Is this or is this not directed towards me?
I don’t understand. @Aeoryi

This is referring to a character of mine named Cognition who was involved with the Desolation ordeal. Has nothing to do with inkwell.

If I quote you, then it is directed at you.

“I have never heard of these Inklings before, though they sound similar to Ennullers. What is the Shield?”

"Inklings are a form of Chaotic neutral, if I remember correctly. They have the ability to naturally absorb Narration like a sponge, and were eliminated because of it." Ribbon said. "The shield was just a work of the Dreamsmith, if you've heard of him."

She sighed. "Inklings just want peace, but there was one who wanted war- Desolation. He killed Thaid, using a Mordite blade, and then all Narrators active at the time, including Subversion and Platy, went to go strike back. He had the Plotblade of Foreshadowing, and an ordinary blade. Yet he killed a Narrator."

She looked over at the horizon. "The inklings only wanted to be safe. It's a shame they're never seen, because I'd always want to meet one."

She turned back to the ocean.

"Inkwell. It suits you."

Who is this specimen? The anti-Shadow asked in clarityspeak. Shall I call forth my maker?

She makes a good point, Inkwell thinks at 9/10mmHB#2.

No. You don’t belong here. Plot is dead, and even if he wasn’t, you wouldn’t have a part in it.

She didn't respond for a moment.

"If I'm being honest . . . I'm not sure, anymore. I've been away for so long, I suppose . . ."

She thought for a moment.

"You may call me . . . Fog. Mist, maybe. Condensation. Any variation of those you deem fitting. I don't care."

"True. Plot, as a character, is dead. Plot as a function of the Thread . . . that still lives."

My... Shadow-caster. The Lightshadow said. The one who sent me.

She offered no answer, however.

Very well. She will arrive. The shadow faded.

“What is the purpose of fog? To obscure. Explain to me how you are different,” Inkwell finally asks.

Spoiler

Finally, a relevant question.

Erryin holds her hand out and the author blade materialized as a sword. “Aeryin! Come out!”

@Ashkaloda

Somewhere in the Mindscape, Aeryn chuckled. Cep lifted his head to see her grinning, violet eyes flashing. "Your friends are here, brother dearest. Shall we give them a little welcome?" She grinned, in at least an approximation of glee, though it seemed more feral and dark.

Erryin and Taeidin felt the Mindscape become more aware of them. All around them, walls sprung up, creating a labyrinth around them. Incidentally, it will actually be helpful to have Taeidin here. The walls blocked out the light of the Mindscape, but seemed themselves to glow slightly, illuminating the edges of walls.

The snake shrieked and died after much stabbing. As it's body began to cool, it suddenly vanished, and Inkwell found himself on a cliff overlooking some strange ocean.

A figure stood near the edge, overlooking the water. Whoever it was work a long coat down to their mid-thighs, and cargo pants, strangely enough. They leaned on a simply-designed, gray wooden cane. Their head took on twitchy movements that resembled the tongues of a roaring fire, and also mimicked the shapes thereof, though it was made of iridescent mist. It seemed to whisper softly when it moved.

They said nothing to him.

Ribbon Tagged herself over to where Inkwell was, saw the snake, and then laughed. "Why was I alerted to here? There's nothing significant here."

btw ooc (out of character) text should be put in NOT BOLD text. It's hard to tell if the spoilered text is supposed to be interacted with differently.

There was always a snake. Ribbon knew, because she had tagged here first.

"There is a narrator here, isn't there?" She said in a warning tone. "Where is the Narrator."

for uh example

Spoiler

The thing in Inkwell’s head is not a pencil. It’s just funnier that he’s easier to erase.
