Assuming he’d selected the relevant control option (and hence allowed Rebus’s technology to read his mind), lines of light spiraled around him at the force of a strong wind.

Atlas is an old character and has clear feelings, implying method acting and hence some measure of autonomy. Eli is quite new, and has less of a personality. Hence, Rebus considers only Atlas to be a person.
“You aren’t real. Nobody you’ve ever met has been real - and most of them even less than you.”
-

“Please refrain from interrupting my extortion.” Rebus smiled politely, Antagonist humming from atop his head. “Do you want Conflict both intact and unused?”

Rebus had, in fact, been attempting to bring Ivisyre to him. Or threatening to, at least - he’d very deliberately insured he could be interrupted.
Still, visiting Ivisyre was worthwhile. One of his copies materialized there, smiling politely and fully prepared for something to vaporize him.

Rebus lashed out with his blade, lunging and swinging in one fluid movement.

Cricket stepped back, letting Rebus's momentum bring him towards himself. Cricket parried both the blows expertly, and as the blades clanged, grinned a vicious smile.

Finally, something he understood. A fight. Just man against man. No complicated deals, no strings attached. Just the clash of wills, and the echo of iron.

Good thing I didn't make him a fullborn too, otherwise the venom wouldn't do anything.

Unnamed froze completely, halting even his breathing.

It paused, then crawled into his sleeve.

But-but how does he know if the cloaked one is in my character's perivis or not? Are we rp'ng from an omniscient POV?

Does he have two(+) main characters, or is one (I assume the cloaked figure) his main character, and he's controlling the barkeep NPC?

@SpiritOfWrath

You get to decide whether or not it is. Many people have more than one character, and storybuild the world around them as necessary.

(There are some people who are omniscient)

Rebus smiled, and a ball was constructed in a flurry of utility fog. He caught it, then tossed it forwards - a solid wall of light (or, rather, an invisible wall represented by light) locking together just before the ball bounced off of it. "Immobile, solid objects are what I would practice first - though of course the interface prevents even grievous mistakes from, say, tearing someone's arm off."

-

Rebus laughed. "I have quite concrete proof of what I say." A whirl of Chaotic Light formed around his hand, shimmering with color. "This would, for a moment, show you the world as it is."

-

"That happened some time ago," Rebus noted. "What exactly is your objective here?"

I need to be able to function tomorrow, since the last day of the semester (and hence due date for everything) is tomorrow. Ergo, I am going to sleep.

We do?

Excuse me, what?

We don’t?

I guess we don’t. Pretend I didn’t say anything.

I need to research sword words, y'all. I also need to sleep; you shall hear from me tomorrow.

Still, visiting Ivisyre was worthwhile. One of his copies materialized there, smiling politely and fully prepared for something to vaporize him.

Ivisyre was lounging in the black throne in this black castle. It hadn’t changed much, but through the stained glass windows along the sides of the chamber, one could see the surface of the world. It was a hellscape, with flowing lava running through massive fissures in the now ashen crystalline mountains. “Hello, Rebus,” Ivisyre said blandly. “I apologize for not meeting you at your desired place, but… I honestly cannot be assed to get out of this chair!” They laughed a high pitched, borderline maniacal laugh. “So! What brings you to my wonderful new domain?” They asked, summoning Inversion. They spun it in their hands idly. “Before you waste any breath, I don’t have the Lost Pages anymore. Malevolence relocated the vault…” They tilted their head. “As I’m sure you’re aware.”

Aelinor nodded her agreement, fixing Rebus with a hard stare as she dismissed Conflict, confirming the bond to the plotblade. "Why don't you go have a chat with Ivisyre?" Aelinor asked rather sourly. "I'm sure you'll find them to be incredibly accommodating."

Unintelligible found that Sequence's body was lighter than expected, as if she were... hollow.

Aelinor stepped closer to Unintelligible, subtly keeping herself between him and Rebus. "We could ask Ryver if there's somewhere on his world where we can... leave her," Aelinor said to Unintelligible, her tone softer. "Until we find where to bury her."

"Yes, that sounds like a good plan. It would be best to leave her..." Unintelligible noticed for the first time that Ryver was gone. "Where did he-ah, no matter. We could leave her... someplace else. Nameless's house, perhaps?"

7 hours ago, DragonHeir said:

“Very well,” Rebus said. “Ivisy-“ he began to say, the tone making the nature of the magical summons quite clear.

Unintelligible looked at Sequence's body in his arms. "I have no vendetta against you, Rebus." He looked up, eyes dark with grief. "Do you truly want to start one?"

8 hours ago, DragonHeir said:

Rebus smiled, eyes glittering. “Your stake could perhaps be a portion of the fruit of your plots; credit for the actions taken and the fealty of those corrupted. Another Plotblade is of little direct benefit to me.”

"That would be acceptable to me." Malevolence sat down, a chair appearing beneath him with barely a hint of electricity. "So, the terms of our contest. Whom shall we ensnare in our schemes?"

Jack hit the ground with the distinct sound of clockwork winding, surprisingly graceful considering his performance in combat. Acting on a whim, he threw a can of oil - from the party and still perhaps a quarter full - at the Sage.

The can burst in the Sage's face, coating him and the ground beneath his feet in oil and causing him to stumble back, more from shock than any real harm. "You dare assault me, the great Sage Orti-" His rant was interrupted by Lyric, who rammed shoulderfirst into the Sage, knocking him over and clearing the path to the exit. "Come, friend Jack! Escape is nigh!" He ran to the exit, but waited for Jack to follow before exiting.

Don't worry, Nameless is dead, and he decided to take up a name before that anyways. (Although there is an inactive sphere that would turn into an evil sort-of clone of him out there somewhere. And I do have ideas for a plotline involving him somewhere down the line.)

Dax nodded in awe.

Jack wad having a staring contest with the flosting words.

-

Eli went to reply but froze. Wrll actually every but rebus did. A dragon flew down and landed on the ground. He was white with green lines moving around his scales. "Let's not do that please big guy?" jackson said.

-

Evaiya contemplated. "See i know mot the specifics of my assignment. I am merely carrying out The Evergods will. And right know his will is to stop this summoning situation."

ah. See the fatal mistake of not being done with your semester already.

I have a lot of clones in BftS. One of my named clones, Sandy, is also in TLT, though he's somewhere else.

Unnamed turned to the barkeep. "Do you have any kinds of Investiture, or something similar?" he asked.

Ooh good idea.

"I'd like some hydrogen peroxide," Unnamed added. "Make sure it has some deuterium."

The barkeep nodded. “That’d be thirty gold pieces.”

Lily started as the barkeep turned and asked for her order.

"Uhm," she began, shrinking under the sudden perceived scrutiny, "horneater white water, please. Thank you."

She then thought to ask for something to eat, but the barkeep had already turned away so she remained silent and hunched over.

He gave it to her, and had indeed turned to KSauce’s character.

"Uhhh," Unnamed began. "I only have one piece of gold. But - " Unnamed pulled something from his pocket, very slowly to not wake the spider. "It's an unsealed goldmind."
