Shoe gently put a hand on her back to help support her, then got the pad out. Hey! How do you feel?

“Mostly good. Did Livetha take any of my damage?”

Take any of your . . . what?

Beosta picked up her stoat. “My damage. Those scratches.”

Gouges, more like.

“You didn’t have to take it,” she told Livetha, picking her up and feeling the blood on the stoat’s stomach. “I’m okay. You can give it back.”

Livetha squeaked a ‘no’.

Shoe chuckled. She's adorable. Why don't we just heal her?

“The stoat healed,” Beosta narrated. Nothing happened. “Huh.”

*blink*

Okay then.

By life forms I assume you mean just animals/conscious beings? Beosta made that whole field grow earlier too.

Odd, Shoe thought.

Some tiny bandages appeared and wrapped themselves around Livetha's wounds, he Narrated.

Lol my autocorrect just capitalized Narrated I love it.

yes, conscious beings.

Livetha jumped on Beosta's shoulder while she stood up shakily. Beosta wobbled, lightheaded, and grabbed Shoe's shoulder.

"Sorry," she said, too unstable to let go.

It's okay. He looped his arm around her. Are you sure you should walk right now?

She frowned. He had a point. "Two tame horses appeared."

They did so.

"Have you ever ridden a horse?"

I actually love horseback riding 😋

"I'll be okay. My horse muscles are stronger than my walking muscles." She mounted up, then winced. "Yeah, I'll be okay."

Shoe sighed and shook his head, then put Livetha in the saddle with Beosta. He mounted up on the other horse and kicked its sides gently, making a clicking noise with his tongue. The horse started forwards.

Beosta's horse followed.

"Thanks for getting me out of there," she said.

Shoe nodded. He rode a little closer and wrote, Thank you. I wouldn't have lived if you weren't there.

He blushed slightly. Sorry for not listening to you before. When the kid walked up, I mean.

“No problem. You’re soft. Nothing wrong with that.”

“Better than if you’d just stabbed him right there.”

Shoe smirked. True.

He thought for a moment.

Do you think this was heroic enough for your final project?

“Maybe. I hope so. He should show up and let me know if it was.”

"Sequence. The inspector was the dude that helped you get into the unreal space for the quest, remember?"

Sequence stared blankly into space for a moment. “… I knew that sounded familiar! Oh well, I remember how to get there either way.”

A basket of bacon-related goods appeared.

Sorry for the monster! Looks like it was nothing you couldn't handle, though. Call me when you're done with your instructor. Ennullers give me the heebie-jeebies.

Beosta jumped, then winced and clutched her stomach. Okay, I guess. Done with, like, if he appears? Or done with him metaphorically?

Beosta secured the basket to her saddle bag, not quite sure what else to do with it.
