"Alright. Oh, and just so we're clear, you don't want the dagger to talk?"

Sequence perked up. "Is that an option? It would be pretty nice if it were able to offer me advice in battle and such!"

Nameless became a blur, moving towards the nearest group of Platypuses, sending them flying with a flurry of blows.

A clawed hand appeared briefly on the wall of light, tearing a small hole in it. Then the grip on Jeremy's arm returned, and he was pulled through the hole.

Jeremy and the shadowed figure appeared next to an elephant carcass in an empty desert. It was nighttime, and there was little sound except for that of the Hunger*.

*While not hunting, the Hunger makes a noise almost identical to the wind, only with the added cries of those most recently devoured, which can be heard only if one listens very closely.

Each Platypus landed on its feet and swarmed back into the fight.

Suddenly, pineapples.

A mysterious figure cut the pineapples in half, Fruit Ninja style.

Tocf snuck away holding the now empty pineapple value pack (TM) that Nerdy had been saving for this exact purpose.

Nerdy stepped in front of the Narrators, holding the Plotblade of Drama. Normally a dramatic entrance such as this would have it at full power, but since none of this made any sense, it wasn't fully charged.

Platypus (or at least, one of them) looked at Nerdy while the others fought Nameless. "Hey Nerdy, good to see you again!"

--

Hacob waved. "Hi Nerdy! Platypus told me about you. How did you manage to appear in front of all of us Narrators? That's a lot of splits."

Platypus was immediately struck down by Desolation.

He popped back up. They were in different places, and Desolation wouldn't have been powerful enough to do that permanently even if they were near each other.

Nerdy continued eating the lemon sandwich cookies, watching the chaos unfold.

"Oh, I've been on this planet for a while," they said around a mouthful of crispy shortbread and tasty lemon filling. "The teleportation is just a thing I can do with this Plotblade. Want a cookie?"

Desolation, however, could indeed be in multiple places.

Hacob shrugs. "Cookies are good. Sure!" He forms a couple pies (blueberry, banana cream, and raspberry if you were wondering).

But not inside the arena. Only something like Drama could penetrate that. And soon Nerdy would be kicked out as the powers trying to force him out wore that Drama out.

Unless, of course, it was Foreshadowed to happen.

But it wasn't, so it was ok. In any event, Platypus was using Vengeance to keep unwanted visitors out, so Nerdy was ejected. "Sorry Nerdy!"

Unfortunately, Desolation had many other ways to get in, as it had been clearly Foreshadowed ~45 pages ago.

Except that it hadn't. And Vengeance could over-power Foreshadowing, even if it had.

could it really

It involves checking a primary source to determine if this event even existed. Desolation, in the meantime, had many blades capable of destroying platypi

yes it could. Vengeance is the most powerful Plotblade. It has the most of Plot in it.

It would probably take Mordite. Fortunately, Platypus had Desolation's old Mordite Blade.

Fortunately, Nerdy hardy was a guest. For legal reasons, they paid their taxes here. Thus, they were able to teleport back to the planet. "Yeah, like that's gonna work."

Inside the Box, things had changed.
Xyr and Johny wore clothes with dirt in them and were drenched in sweat. They were tending to the  crops.

The wheat and potatoes were doing very well and in abundance, while the watermelons had been hit hard by some certain events a while back. After the weeds had been thoroughly eradicated they went inside for a nice meal. They table was loaded with chicken, ham, potatoes and some recipes that they had experimented with. Johny had too much fun with a torch and one chicken had a bit more carbon on the outside than they would have liked.

"So," Johny asked. "What do you think people on the outside are doing?"

"Probably fighting," Xyr said, shoving a spoonful of stuffing into his mouth. "I bet that Xiahida is really getting into it."

"True, true,"  Silence follows..."You ever feel lonely in this Box? Just us... not a single person to fill the empty moments?"

"Not often, I enjoy the quiet life."

"I miss those days...Sitting on the sidelines drinking Root and playing Go Fish... Do you need me for a few days? I want to check on Xiahida, make sure he is fine."

"Go for it" Xyr opens a portal out of the Box and Johny walks up to it. He takes a deep breath and steps through... And fall right on top of abalador.

No, he was allowed on the planet, he just got ejected from the arena with Platypus and Nameless.

"One of what worlds?" asked Jeremy in irritation. "And for goodness sakes, why are you so cryptic all of the time? Is it so hard to explain yourself the first time you say something?"

“Sorry. By one of those worlds, I mean one of the really bad* ones. The ones that are made when Narrators are feeling particularly evil.”

*’really bad’ is an understatement

“Yes, it’s an option. I can do basically anything using a soul like yours.”

Nameless merely shook his head and continued swinging, easily holding off the horde. “You still think this gives you an advantage? Let me give you a lesson in the fundamental laws of TLT. Numbers do not give you an advantage. In fact, they give you a disadvantage! The more you split, the weaker you become.”

A wavering copy of Nameless appeared next to Desolation. “Hi! I’m sorry I can’t fight you right now, I have to deal with Platypus first. And after that, I have to go deal with Darkness. However, I’ll make sure to slot you in as soon as my schedule has an opening.”
