Same faction as ever, actually.  My role PM looks like a time loop. :P

It's not like it was likely that my faction was going to change.  People change their minds, you know.  It's not like I'm going to persist in a bad idea once I realize it's bad. :P

So I am not the only one who found this remark mildy suspect. I can understand a Magestar lynch.

But after consideration, I place my vote on Pyromancer. I have two reasons to do so:

1. I am wary of letting the last game inform this one too much, but Pyromancer is treating Khriss a lot like they treated Survival before the reboot. This is the best lead I can discern with the current information.

2. Pyromancer said they would be explaining their vote on Magestar soon, and this is partially a poke of encouragement to do so. I do not in principle disagree with the vote; I would just like to better understand it.

Seriously?  There are people going around making a ruckus about past roles, and you want to lynch me because I said that mine didn't change?

Ambition - A player who burns a charge of Ambition’s investiture may use their action during either Turn to gain an additional action during the following Turn.

Odium - A player who burns a charge of Odium’s investiture may use their action during the Night Turn to attack another player on the same world as they are.

I've been trying to think what khriss and hoid would do on the night turn. I haven't figured out hoid yet but I think Khriss would

  1. draw from both ambition and Odium to get charges from both
  2. draw from both odium and ruin and hope to gain a shard

This would allow khriss to kill someone to further their main goal or possibly gain a shard to advance their side goal potential. In either case I do think that khriss targeted Odium and could potentially have odium.

As for current reads... I am a bit suspicious of Devotary as orlok has pointed out I dont see much reason/reward for EL to lie in comparison to the risk and my gut (whihc wasnt wrong during the QF :) ) just kind of says so too.

Pyromancer feels off to me... he definitely doesn't feel like a new player to SE and what he says "offhandedly" feel like it could be calculated.

I need to go back and read magestars posts especially after orloks posts, speaking of orlok I need to go back and read his first days posts to see if his opinions have changed at all... Conversion games are hard!

For now I will put a vote on devotary Juwst in case I don't make it back this round because of chores ( I really need to do laundry today and clean my room and several other things) I definately will try to post more thoughts later though

Guys, I'm sick.  Please put up with my weirdness, at least until I get better.

Drake, I attempted to quote the reason, but apparently you can't quote from locked topics.  It was about mage suddenly changing his mind after the game restarted.  Also, he said his role didn't change, which makes me suspicious, considering he changed his mind.  Drake, if you and me get in a PM, I will tell you something that should help convince you of my innocence.

Monster, fine.  I am not Alv.  I am someone who obsessively stalked the Sanderson Elimination forum for 6 months before making an account.

Fifth Scholar, I am on to you.  I imagine you do not want me speaking of what I mean.  Please get in contact with me.

I am sorry. I suspect it has more to do with how you said it than what you said.

Even so, I did not say I want to lynch you. With all respect, if I wanted to lynch you, I would have voted for you.

Thank you. For now, Pyromancer. I may take you up on the PM.

I didn't suddenly change my mind after the game started.

Actually I would say that Survival should reveal themselves.  Survival's wincon once they've been overcome by the shard is probably going to be pretty Neutral; having a nice neutral party would probably be a good thing for everyone involved.

Yes, I did start by saying this.  But then you said something about the Elims being able to get survival, and I figured that was true, and I admitted it.  Then, Elbereth brought up a number of points, some of which I originally refuted, but most of which I didn't have a valid argument against.  I've tried sticking to a flawed opinion just because I didn't want to be seen as backsliding;  it's a foolish thing to do.

And anyways, before the game rebooted, I said this, in response to Elbereth questioning how Survival as an intermediary would work;

Quote

Good question. :P I was actually thinking about the logistics of this and I'm not sure how much sense it actually makes. I thought it was a really good idea before the game started, though. :P  Mainly, I remembered it being brought up in the last game, and thought "That's a good idea.  Intermediaries are cool!  I should bring it up this game."

Maybe not such a good idea though.

It was only after El brought it up again in the new version of the game that I responded "That's fair" to it.  I had already said I'd realized it wasn't such a good idea, so there wasn't much more to say.

That's fair.  That last post was a bit much, I think.  Sorry.  I'm a little frustrated right now, for obvious reasons.  know I'm innocent, and I don't really see how my actions point to anything else, but I'm still up for the lynch. :P  Well, I suppose it's not the first time.

Having only briefly read the thread - I’m not entirely sure what’s happening here (and am deeply sorry to the GMs for causing such a mess in the first place), but think it’d be best to leave that discussion completely and render it NAI.

...nevermind, given Rae’s post. I apparently misremembered what I read, or something? I apologise again for the mess, then, and will move on.

My vote on Devotary standsc though, as my initial reason for it is still valid.

Well, being NAI is better than being Elim, correct? That stands on its own.

...no. Bringing up NAI discussion is not NAI in itself. I personally view it as suspicious, which is why I pointed it out.

Further more detailed responses forthcoming when I get back from dancing.

Please don't double-post. If you want to say something else but nobody has responded yet, you can edit it in to your last post with a tag to show it wasn't part of the original post. The only exception to that is if you have a vote, because sometimes GMs can miss votes that are edited into posts later.

Wait! @Elbereth, I get your username! I happen to be reading ROTK for school.  Small world.

But does anyone get my username?

I can't speak for Elbereth, but I am almost positive that name is from LOTR. Or NetHack.

According to google, your name and profile picture are both from the Young Pyromancer card in Magic: the Gathering :)

Cheater.  ROTK stands for Return Of The King.  But do you get my title?

If that is cheating, you should have informed me of the rules :P

Return of the King, fair play, then.

Prestidigitator is a synonym for magician, and a pyromancer is a kind of magician. However, I am going to predict that the title is also referencing something that I am unaware of.

Correct.

Prestidigitation is a really fun cantrip in Dungeons & Dragons.

Transmutation cantrip

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: 10 feet

Components: V, S

Duration: Up to 1 hour

This spell is a minor magical trick that novice spell-casters use for practice. You create one of the following magical effects within range:

  • You create an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect, such as a shower of sparks, a puff of wind, faint musical notes, or an odd odor.
  • You instantaneously light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire.
  • You instantaneously clean or soil an object no larger than 1 cubic foot.
  • You chill, warm, or flavor up to 1 cubic foot of nonliving material for 1 hour.
  • You make a color, a small mark, or a symbol appear on an object or a surface for 1 hour.
  • You create a nonmagical trinket or an illusory image that can fit in your hand and that lasts until the end of your next turn.

If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.

Yeah, I've thought about that.

I kind of want another shot at being a shard vessel :P

But I'd like to have a chat at some point. What is your favorite planet?

We could go Roshar, but others will probably go there.  We could go Taladain, to try to see if Hoid/Khriss goes there.  Honestly, I just want a charge of investiture first to convert if necessary.  Seonid is saying all my cool ideas don't work.:(

Err...Pyromancer, I have no clue what you’re talking about. If you’re phishing, then sure, fine, but if not, what are you talking about? Elaborate in thread, please- even if I could start a PM, I wouldn’t use it to clarify a point that could be cleared up now.

Steeldancer zoomed after the man, who was obviously heading back towards the horneater peaks. Unfortunately, Steel was running out of steel. He had filled a lot of metalminds before coming to Roshar, but running such a long distance had burned through most of his reserves. He would be forced to only tap, not burn if he ran out of the small steelminds he used for the purpose.
Well, he always had the option of just frictioning his way up. So he stopped burning steel, and simply drifted on the momentum he already had. Sometimes he was quite inefficient with his metalmind usage. The man was way ahead of him, but the lightning he gave off- how DID he do that, anyway?- gave Steel something to follow.
Across countries the man ran, and he danced. All the way to the horneater peaks. At which point he had also drained several spare metalminds for getting up the mountain, and for turning into stormlight for Abrasion. He really needed to restock. Finally, the man stopped, a few peaks over from the perpendicularity.

"My name is Eobard, Eobard Thawne. And I need you to Awaken the lightning."
