thegatorgirl00 she/her
This thread is a place for all of us who have decided to wait until the official release date to read Oathbringer. Jon me, and we will support one another in this time of great temptation! Please don't tell me I'm all alone in this. StormyQueen she/her
I'm with you in this! I'm saving it so I can read it in a space of a day (maybe 2 if I'm slow ) after I finish all my exams. Plus, this gives me time to do a Stormlight re-read. Ammanas
I was planning on reading the online Tor Chapters and tear through the physical book as quickly as possible, but the news of one cosmere story, The Lost Metal, for the next three years changed that approach. I am going to take my time with Oathbringer and savor it.
Rebecca she/her
Don't worry. I'm waiting too. I'd rather read the whole book at once than in little segments once a week.
Tesh Any pronouns
@thegatorgirl00 You are not alone. I read the prologue, nearly fainted from excitement, preorered it, then swore not to read it until Nov. 14th. (Amazon's amazing. They're shipping it on the 10th so I'll be able to start reading the day it's released)! But I don't know if I should wait to read it until my Thanksgiving break, or start the day I get it. I'll have tons of family over, so it'll be crazy. I dunno. I'm planning on starting my SA reread on the 1st so I can just go through all 4 books in a row. I guess I'll see what happens. Landis963 he/him
I, also, will be abstaining from any and all spoilers until Oathbringer is released. I may even abstain longer, depending on when the audiobook comes out, and whether or not I read it in tandem with a friend of mine.
Stormfather-in-Law
I'm with you. I failed when WoR was released, but this time I've avoided even the prologue. I'll be happier reading it all through at once, just need to resist temptation!

Killik he/him
I'm re-reading Warbreaker and then the 1st Mistborn trilogy to keep myself away from the Oathbringer temptations. It's hard when your strolling through the forums here and keep having to leave threads that start building on the spoilers, even when the spoilers themselves are hidden. I Am Witless she/her
!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not very much of a temptation for me, just because I have a hard time believing that an author would actually release a third of their book (especially one so long as a Stormlight book) to the general public. And I might have schoolwork dominating my life....... should we run this like an alcoholics anonymous meeting? Hello, I'm I Am Witless, and I have been Stormlight-free for the past two months. Hello, I'm I Am Witless, and I have been Stormlight-free for the past two months. Well done Witless!! You've come so far! (this just makes me think of the shark support group in Finding Nemo) But yeah, I do feel you. School work is proving to take up most of my life. Luckily it comes out pretty much a week before my last exam, so I won't be waiting long. I'm so used to no bothering with Cosmere spoilers that I sometimes ignore spoiler tags, so I have a vague idea about some things which will happen

Hyarmenatan
In Poland, Oathbringer is going to be split into two books - 1st released on November, like for all of you, 2nd will be likely released in January. Imagine how it will feel to lurk around the 17thShard knowing all of you read entire book, while we know only one half (majority of the 1st book will be released in preview chapters on TOR anyway). This is going to be a torture.
Penumbra
I'm Penumbra and I'm scared of Oathbringer spoilers. I'm in Sweden, but I'm hoping the english edition will be released the same date here as everywhere else (and that my local book store will be quick to acquire it!). I decided to wait because I have a ton of work to do right now until about November anyway and can't spare the time to re-read the first two books OR read and really get into Oathbringer :c
anna she/her
I'm doing my best to avoid spoilers, too. I'm about 200 pages into my reread of Words of Radiance, so I have plenty to help distract me
Rogueshar
I read the prologue, but am abstaining from reading anything more. I really want to read it on the day it comes out, but I'm in my first year of law school and thus reading huge novels is not conducive to passing. I'll probably try to tear through it on my Thanksgiving break, fingers crossing my professors take pity on us and don't assign exsuberant amount of homework. But I'm really happy to know I'm not the only one who isn't reading the released chapters or who might have trouble reading it when its first released. Tesh Any pronouns
I'm waiting until the 1st to start my SA reread, so then I can go through all four without anything in between. (The longest I've ever gone without having a book to work on reading was about 12 hours).

I feel as though I'd be cheating myself out of a treat on November 16th (UK release date).
Allomancer Jack he/him
I'm personally choosing to wait for the full book. However my wife had been keeping up to date on the pre-release chapters and that makes it even harder for me. Now I have to be EXTRA nice or she will yell spoilers at me! It's very comforting to know I'm not alone...

bo.montier
Ah, I broke just now and read the prologue, following some of you in this thread. I'm about to go read the rest of the released chapters because I'm too weak.
