  1. In Oathbringer I-7 Rine, one of the Fused, tells Venli: So what I'm going with right now is that the entire False Desolation, including Mishram wanting to rebel against Odium, was all a plan between the Fused, Odium, and Mishram to get Tanavast / Honor to break his word badly enough that he could be killed. This would make "We" Team Odium, and "You" Tanavast.
  2. I assume Khriss left Roshar early in the 10 days rather than sticking around to see how the contest of champions played out
  3. I tad assumed "the weight of my darkened twin on my back" was referring to somebody carrying Nightblood, but I haven't thought about how the rest of it would fit.
  4. I'm not used to getting jump-scared while reading a book, but Ishar got me good! I'm worried about so many things after reading this chapter: Gavinor and the Ghostbloods in the spiritual realm. Ishar and whatever his plans are for Szeth and Kaladin. Lift pretending to be Navani can't possibly last for long. I'm even worried about the chapter arches, which seem to be cracking apart.
  5. Also, did Hoid plant the rock in Kaladin's pack and was it also an Ashynite rock?
  6. I was wondering this too. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends with Radiant somehow sacrificing herself to neutralize the anti-stormlight
  7. A vacuum of voidspren A nand (as in "nand gate") of logicspren A worry of anxietyspren A kaladin of gloomspren A surf of wavespren
  8. A vacuum of voidspren
  9. It would not surprise me if that's how the entire book was written. Maybe this should be reported to Amazon and/or Dragonsteel?
  10. I'm wondering what it means for the night to leave. We know it's hard for spren to leave the system, so the night is probably still one one of the plantes in the Roshar system in some form. My crackpot theory: Honor and Cultivation offered up the Night as bait to Odium to trick him into Investing in the system. They became the first Unmade, but somehow made it possible to trap Rayse with the Oathpact.
  11. This chapter brought up how the Azish Empire is essentially 10 independent countries paying lip-service to the Emperor. They could dissolve the Empire 20 minutes before the contest, sacrificing Azir and saving the other nine countries. This makes it sound like Rayse inherited a promise from Adonalsium that he wishes he could break. I wonder what it is? Not harming Hoid or not harming former Dawnshards generally unless they break an oath? Not harming living things directly unless they break a promise? Like how Wit said Odium could wipe out all of Roshar if Fen broke the agreement. Ever since Dawnshard came out, I've been convinced that Rayse was a Dawnshard pre-shattering (mostly because he was supposed to be unlikable, so why would the rest of the future-vessels even bother recruiting him?). Rayse could have attempted to do something against the Intent of his Dawnshard, and learned he was unable to act.
  12. A chair? Or is it wine?
  13. This is an interesting take, that I really like. I've been wondering lately if "Phase 2" of the Cosmere (Mistborn Era 2 & 3, Stormlight 6 - 10, and the Elantris sequels) was going to be Everybody vs. Autonomy, and this may back that up.
  14. Happy birthday!

  15. My boring prediction that a lot of other people believe is: Team Radiant will lose the contest of champions, but in an honorable way that we (the readers) feel good about. And my "out of left field" prediction is: Vasher will have a reunion with Nightblood and Vivenna. We'll find out that his Returned vision had to do with Odium and the aftermath of the contest of champions. Towards the end of the book he gives up his Divine Breath to heal either the deadeyes Stormfather or all the deadeyes spren.
