It shouldn't just be about tuition reductions anymore. People still care about tuition reductions, even if you don't. And most people probably aren't suspicious of anyone and won't be for a few more cycles either. But I agree votes should be more serious, so RP for tuition reduction is preferable to random / bandwagon votes. 4 hours ago, BrightnessRadiant said: 5. @OrlokTsubodai I totally agree with your post about how we will eventually get info from going back through the thread once we actually do find a skindancer...I think we should focus more on discussing and voting our suspicions now because of this. Also you made a good point that the expulsions would inconvenience the elims more than the village because of the synergy they could have through their different talents on their teams. I would also like to point out that one of the win conditions for the skindancers is that they can win by bringing down all of the fields by becoming masters in them.. so shouldn't we be trying to get them expelled to keep them from being able to become masters? As a skindancer last game, we found the destruction of all 9 schools to be an impossible task. Concern yourself more about them removing everyone. Preventing them from becoming Masters is still important, but to prevent them having control of DP, elevations, and having more skills. Edit: @Cluny the Scourge Please edit the quote from your GM PM immediately, as that's a violation of the rules of these games. (Edit 3: Thanks.) Edit 2: And as the others have said, saying your field lets people barrow down what everyone else is. For instance, there are only 7 people who could have been elevated in Naming, making it even easier for them to work out who, for example. Edit 3: I did say 9 hours ago that Aturan nobles could get a gram last cycle with a loan… I'm also not really feeling the Burnt lynch. I think I would have bought the gram as there's only one, and it's not necessarily going to be replenished in the near future, whereas the bodyguards are always available, although can get expensive. But that's not really a concern for a Vintish. Edited May 4, 2017 by Haelbarde 1

DeTess she/her Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 The large hall of the Tomes was mostly silent, the only sounds being the rustle of paper, the scratching of quills on paper and the muted footsteps of scrivs moving stacks of books around. Telar was quietly working on a paper for one of his classes. He’d needed a number of different books, so he’d decided to work directly in the Tomes rather than bringing the books to work elsewhere. His work had been progressing steadily, and Telar was putting the final touches to his work when he came across a note written in faded ink in a margin of one of the books. “Master Hael is a skindancer. Don’t trust him and pass the word around!” Telar frowned. As far as he knew there wasn’t any master Hael working at the University. The note itself looked old and faded. And who would write such a note to begin with. The master of the Archives wasn’t exactly forgiving to people that vandalized his books. Telar quickly flipped a couple of pages in the book, before any of the Scrivs saw the note. Telar finished his work and prepared to pack up. Then, on a whim he asked a scriv if he could get him a ledger with the names of all the past masters of the university. The note probably meant nothing, but with everyone scared about the so-called ‘skindancers’, it might be worth looking into. *** Telar missed diner that evening, and spent most of that night going through various lists, ledgers and university bulletins. When he finally did go home to sleep he dreamed of skin-less people chasing him down empty hallways. In case it needed to be said, 'Master Hael' does not refer to Haelbarde's current character, but to his character in LG18. 3

Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) @Cluny the Scourge, I'm in complete agreement with Stink on that. Much though I hate to fulfil your wish, stated as it is, I am going to vote for you. I only have one post in my analysis so far on you, from T1M1, but think the rest of your posts this cycle warrant very close scrutiny. The first thing to note is your initial post, the 26th of the game. In this post, you ask for advice, and make a point of being a new player. Firstly, this is more often done by players who are evil, seeking to use it to escape suspicion and excuse suspicious actions, but more importantly, it highlights the dissonance with the post Randuir highlighted earlier, casting suspicion on the two of us without an overt vote. I'd also raise your posts earlier this cycle. Your votes on PK and HH didn't seem justified, and you never answered my question about why your post was left on HH, to my knowledge. If anyone has time, I'd suggest they look at these posts further - I'm rushing to get this out before the end of cycle, as I'm unsure what time I'll be able to get off work. Edit: Actually voting. >> Cluny, Cluny. Edited May 4, 2017 by OrlokTsubodai
Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 @Ornstein, with such a narrow field of candidates, any complaint may put me on the horns, with potentially serious results. Would you mind justifying the vote? Anyone voted on will have a lot of DP stacked on them, and "gut" is a worrying reason for that. :/

Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 @Ornstein, you'll forgive me for not sharing the same faith in your gut, I hope. Would you be able to provide us an example of when your gut was correct? As I recall, you didn't vote in LG32 in any of the cycles you were alive for, which doesn't really inspire confidence in the ability of your gut.

little wilson she/her Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 5 hours ago, BrightnessRadiant said: Also is there only one gram available in Imre per turn? @little wilson you said they were sold out...is there only one? The apothecary doesn't tell you how many items are available. It just tells you what items are available and how much those items are. Or if an item is sold out. Based on LG18, though, I'd guess there was only a single gram to start out, and that the apothecary won't be stocked every turn but more likely every few turns. So if something sells out, it'll take a bit before it's back in stock. 2 hours ago, randuir said: Up next is @Drake Marshall. Firs, there's an inconsistency in a post of his from page 11: I don't really see how HH's votes where less reasoned than PK's. Sure, PK provided a reason to start voting in the first place, but he didn't really support why he voted for the specific people after that. HH mentioned he was doing it for the tuition reduction, and though he has less claim to wanting that than a non-noble, Pk isn't exactly an Edema Ruh either. As I've said before, I also find his sudden decision to start voting in turn 2 after strictly abstaining in turn 1 (even after pointing out himself that voting would reduce the risk of individual people getting punished) rather odd. After the end of term 1, this had made me lean Elim on him. However, Drake's contributions to the discussion about Steph have made me re-assess somewhat. He could have easily joined the Steph bandwagon. After Orlok's post, it shouldn't have been too hard for an elim to 'find' some more evidence of her evilness though justify that vote, but he kept a more considerate stance. This could of course be an elim ploy to either protect a friendly elim, or win trust by protecting a villager, but it doesn't really look like that to me. Based on his posts he seems to actually want to think it over and come to his own conclusions, while an elim could have bandwagoned of either Wilson's or Orlok's opinion without too much risk of being exposed. So right now, I'm reading Neutral on Drake. I would point out that Drake has done some fairly elim stuff, just not in relation to Steph. It's more in relation to Burnt and the discussion around the gram. If Burnt isn't a Skindancer, I'd look long and hard at Drake, because he probably is (yes, I'm aware he said the same thing about me). I find some of his comments last night to be....I don't know. I don't want to say inconsistent, because then he'll just say that Villagers are inconsistent, but perhaps odd and, to use the word Orlok used with Burnt, incongruous. 12 hours ago, Drake Marshall said: So... I'd say buying a gram so early in the game might be marginally suspicious, simply because it seems like the benefits for eliminators are slightly greater then the benefits for villagers. I would hesitate to vote on someone on those grounds, but I'd definitely be watching them. Insert my comment about bodyguards also protecting from two sabotages.... 11 hours ago, Drake Marshall said: But one thing about your accusation doesn't really line up to me. If Burnt was buying a gram to protect her eliminator buddies, why not just buy two bodyguards instead? I know you can't transfer ownership of a bodyguard after you purchase it, but you can purchase one on behalf of someone else. It seems that two non-transferrable protective powers is better then one transferable one, even for an eliminator. And yet... 2 bodyguards is definitely a better deal for a villager, because that nets you 4 protections against sabotages where a gram only nets you 2 protections against sabotages. But an eliminator doesn't care about sabotage protection. They want protection from actual kills. And a bodyguard is only 1-shot protection for a kill, not a 2-shot. Which makes the gram a much more attractive option for an eliminator. A gram, like 2 body guards, can ultimately block 2 kills. But it's transferable, and also 1 talent cheaper than 2 bodyguards. Which makes a gram a good idea for an eliminator to buy, but a bad idea for a villager to buy. I think the case is strong enough to vote Burnt Burnt. I'm....not sure what changed his mind from "marginally suspicious" to the case now being "strong enough" to vote for her.... It seems to me that all of his reasoning above applies equally to both eliminator and villager. And he acknowledges that fact. It was after this that I mentioned that I'm pretty sure you can't purchase two bodyguard contracts at the same time. That point seems to be the salient point in his suspicion against Burnt: that a rich villager would've purchased two Bodyguards rather than a single gram. 11 hours ago, Drake Marshall said: Hmmm... In that case I can see why a villager who didn't care about money might buy a gram. But a bodyguard still looks like a better choice, so I'll keep the vote up. I'm less certain about it though. Less certain, but keeping the vote on. So he went from thinking it marginally suspicious and not voting, to having a strong case, and voting, to now being less certain, but keeping both votes on. Now enter Burnt, who said she purchased it for paranoia and to keep it out of the Skindancer's hands. I'm not really sure what my read on Burnt is as a whole, but I think this defense does merit something. Because it does make sense from a villager standpoint. This is Drake's response: 8 hours ago, Drake Marshall said: I think the relevant point in Wilson's argument is that a bodyguard is actually just as good as a gram for your stated purposes. But a gram might be preferable for an eliminator's purposes. I'll admit, I'm not very sure about your guilt. Before you actually made your defense, I was still quite aware that getting a gram might simply seem like the best course of action. I mean, in truth, the simple fact that the gram costs more might make actually it look better to you, even though practically speaking it really isn't superior to a bodyguard. People with a lot of money tend to gravitate towards the most expensive item, even when in a utilitarian sense it isn't any better than much cheaper alternatives, and I don't see why a game is any exception to that pattern. So, yeah. You could totally be innocent. I understand that. I'm not going to retract my vote tonight though. I believe the gram purchase is odd enough that I am willing to vote on you. I should be online before rollover tomorrow, in case some critical new development requires me to change my vote. But yeah. So....he explains why it totally makes sense for a villager Vint to purchases a gram....which is just more to add onto his previous reasons for a villager to want a gram.... Now, at this point, I would expect him to retract at least one of his votes. But....he doesn't. Because "the gram purchase is odd enough".....why? You yourself, Drake, have explained it away thoroughly of why a rich villager would want a gram over a bodyguard. So what makes it odd? And then he adds this: Quote Oh, also, Wilson. As much as you are making good points, it hasn't completely escaped my notice that you are basically trying to get a sabotage-immune person lynched. Now, given your thought process, it really doesn't seem like you are doing it for evil motives. And, plus, I am also voting on Burnt. But I'll at least voice the fact of it. In the unlikely chance that you are actually doing it to be evil, I don't want it to go completely under the radar The exact same thing can be said about you, Drake. And your reasoning about Burnt makes your continued votes on her even more unusual. Are you sure you're not trying to do what you're saying I might be trying to do? Moving on. 2 hours ago, randuir said: The last person I wanted to mention is Cluny (mentions broke). Specifically, there is this post I wanted to talk about(emphasis mine): Now, I'm not saying that people that seem helpful are automatically good. However, I'm surprised to see this particular comment coming from a new player, as this kind of casual suspicion-throwing is something I'd expect to see from more experienced players, rather than from a relatively new player. This makes me wonder whether he was 'talking the doc'. His comment about Orlok having some good points also makes me wonder whether he's trying to avoid Orlok's suspicions by trying to appear to agree with him. So, altogether, this makes me somewhat wary of Cluny. That's actually a very good point. And I already stated that he seemed really certain of Steph's alignment. This speaks more about the knowledge Cluny has and his own alignment than it does about Steph. But he was playing the new player card last cycle and now he's suddenly coming down like he knows what's going on. That's...quite the shift. Based on Burnt's comments, I'm torn that her motives for buying the gram were actually evil. I also don't really view her comment about Imre as a threat. More just a "go ahead and expell me; it won't stop me being able to do things, because I'm rich and can buy everything." I can see how that can be taken as an eliminator troll, but the tone I'm getting from Burnt is more of a bored villager who's looking for other ways to keep herself entertained and she knows she's rich enough to do that. Because of that, Burnt Burnt. My votes will instead go on Drake and Cluny for the reasons stated above. 2
Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Frankly, @Ornstein, a single correct gut read does not make your gut an all-powerful alignment detecting tool. People get lucky. Gut reads are interesting, and can inform analysis, but to risk expelling a player without any evidence at all is nothing but reckless. What are your thoughts on Cluny and Burnt? Could you tell me what is informing your gut?

Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Right. Cluny, Cluny Much though I'd rather maintain my position, and keep my votes on Cluny, who I am still suspicious of, I see no reason for a villager to risk an expulsion of another player based purely on gut that they refuse to defend, either in thread or PM. Whist I think I'm less suspicious of you than I am of Cluny, I am not staying at the Golden Pony, and may well go on the horns and be expelled, so will vote on Ornstein, Ornstein, in order to spread the DP a bit. I've put a lot of time into this game over the last two cycles, and really don't want to see it wasted on the basis of a single, unsupported, gut vote.
BrightnessRadiant she/her Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) okay I fell asleep instead of posting my suspicions and RP cuz I was too out if it to stay awake...hopefully I still have time for both but it will be rushed People I'm suspicious of: 1. Everyone (haha I can't help it..I was traumatized by MR21 ) 2. But for real...Drake Because he was so against the vote in the first turn and then immediately voted on the second...just struck me as odd because there wasn't much difference between the first two turns that would cause a change of opinion about voting yet. Also if he was so angry about the first turn voting I would have expected him to blame and vote on PK like a lot of people did cuz he had started the vote first turn..instead he voted HH who hadn't really been that suspicious yet. Was very set on getting rid of burnt earlier just because she bought a gram...which she admitted to later and gave good reasons. If I had more time before closing I would go read the rest of his posts from the other turns to catch up on his actions but I don't have time and my previous notes and thoughts on him are telling me to be wary of him so I will be voting Drake[\color]. 3. My other vote will be PK[\color] because I can't shake a weird feeling about him. He has continuously striven for everyone voting and hasn't seemed to concerned with why or who but just for the sake of voting...I will post analysis of him and Drake next turn. Will RP if I have time... sorry don't know why my colors went crazy I am on a mobile device so trying to use code to change the color and it went wonky for some strange reason Edited May 4, 2017 by BrightnessRadiant Color mishap
Orlok Tsubodai Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 To His Excellency, my future self, As the existence of this note will no doubt tell you, I have resolved to continue the documentation of my progress on our journey towards omnipotence. I have mixed news, this cycle. I'll begin with the most positive, which will undoubtedly bring great cheer to your day. You may recall the psychology student I referred to in my missive last term? Their interest in my thoughts has continued, and I'm proud to be able to say that they've invited me to present my beliefs to an audience of their peers! I have no doubt that you'll remember the tremendous opportunity this posed to expand our following, but will appraise you next month of the progress. Although the grandeur of your more recent achievements must overshadow our past as an ocean dwarfs a raindrop, I do hope you remember the joy we felt at our recent elevation? This recognition of our talents so early only serves to illustrate the unparalleled potential we hold. The less than positive news is twofold. The governance society has refused my magnanimous offer to act as the society secretary. The chairwoman spouted a load of nonsense about megalomania, and something about refusing to endorse support for dictatorship. Although I can't recall why I stooped so low as to wish to be a part of this pathetic gathering, I will have my revenge upon them, for this affront to my dignity. It can only be explained as a personal attack, my characteristics and knowledge being perfect for such a position. Quite bizarrely, I received notice that a complaint had been made against me. No explanation was attached, but I'm certain that it must be from a student who felt threatened by my policy platform. Overshadowed, perhaps, lost, in the knowledge that they cannot stop my rise to power, or envious of my invitation to present to the psychologists next week... Although I wish I could write further, I must now take my leave, to study. Yours, with great respect, Locke Alveron, in the first month of our second term at the University. 5
