Wonko the Sane he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Just now, Mesa the Ookla said: There's no point in taking out inactives by then, because by the time we kill one elim, we can start exploring and find the heart. But we'd need a way to kill it :/ What? Are you sure you have the stages of this game down? All players begin explorers. Omens are found; Elims are generated. At least one Elim is caught; Heart and kill method become findable. Heart and kill method are found. Heart is killed; Elims are no longer generated by Omens. Remainder of game plays out like standard Elimination, until Elims are dead or outnumber living players. We need to race to stage 5 as soon as possible, before the game becomes unwinnable by sheer number of Elims. Our next step on the way there is to find an Elim. Now, I agree that there are virtually guaranteed to be Elims among the inactives. But those Elims have no data to analyze, and are therefore harder to find than active Elims. Since we only need one right now, we should focus on the easiest to find. After we kill the Heart, then we can start worrying about inactive Elims. Until then, every non-Elim inactive we lynch is another turn where more Elims can be generated.
Wyrmhero he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Author Posted December 6, 2016 The Night is over! Please stop all PMs.
Wyrmhero he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Author Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) Day 5: The Fall of the House of Heron Khaos awoke in total darkness. That in itself was a surprise. When one wakes up, one expects the darkness to recede, for colour and clarity to return to the world. But in this case, in her case, it did not. Perhaps it was to do with the pain she felt in her heart? Not a longing or a needing or an emotional pain of any kind, but a sharp-stabbing pain. Not heartburn either. No, it was more like someone had rammed a sword through her. She didn't actually know what being run through would feel like, but she imagined it would feel like this. Actually, it wasn't a heart pain either. It was a bit more to the centre of her body, as though her assassin, or would-be-assassin, had just forgone any semblance of precision or tact and just aimed for the centre of mass. Probably felt they would be less likely to miss that way. Her attempted murderer didn't seem to be the sharpest of killers. She put a hand to the middle of her chest where she had been hit. Her shirt was damaged and would need replacing or repairing as soon as she found a bit of makeshift cloth, but she couldn't feel any actual wound or scar. That was something. She sat up and immediately regretted it. When the world of blackness stopped spinning around her bruised head, she carefully lifted her hand up, and then to the sides, then finally back down. What she thought was wooden floorboards appeared to be more of a wooden crate or box. Which she was currently on the wrong side of, preferring infinitely more to be outside of it instead. She raised both hands up and pushed with all the might she could muster. There was no movement from the wood above her, but a small trickle of dirt fell in, raising a musty cloud which made her cough. She sighed and lowered her arms again, wondering what she should do now. She tapped her foot against the side of the box. There was a slight sound of a ring, and some resistance where her foot caught on something slightly. She explored a little with her foot, trying to get a feel for what it was by building a metal image of what she was getting snagged on. It was a rope, she realised. She hooked her boot around it and pulled as hard as she could towards her, before going slack again. She repeated this a few times, and was rewarded by a ringing noise. There was a shriek, followed by a muffled thud. “Oh Colours,” someone above her muttered, though it was hard to make out. “You don't think...” “Maybe she's a Lifeless without a master,” someone else said, a wary edge to his voice. “They eat your brains, you know.” “You're safe then.” The first replied dryly. It was punctuated by a stab of metal through earth. “Come on, help me get her out.” Khaos (little wilson) was attacked, but did not die!Character List Dr Konwa Arelle (Wonko the Sane) - A biochromantic scholar. little wilson she/her Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Khaos rubbed her chest and groaned. Whoever was responsible for her survival, she was tremendously grateful for. Her death was not supposed to be the means of providing the chaos she wished to imbue upon the explorers in the house. That said, it had made things a little more exciting. And she was no longer wondering if she wanted to find the Traitors. Yes, she did. But not to join them. After all, they'd just tried to kill her. No, no. She could cause chaos for them by tearing them apart. Khaos grinned, eyes lighting up in anticipation. First on that list was Yiferian, who Khaos was quite certain she'd seen loitering around her before she'd falled asleep. Yiferian, who had conveniently decided not to give an item to Khaos that would've helped her in an attack just before she'd gotten attacked. Curious, that. 1

Seonid he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 And now for some RP, because I haven't done enough of that yet. ---------------------------------- The shade of Sheon Idris wandered the halls of the house. Technically speaking, he supposed, he should actually call himself a Cognitive Shadow, but that phrase lacked a certain...flair. And everything he had done with his life had been with an eye towards flair. Taking the Crown of Arelon, that was flair (though it had come at a heavy cost). His short tenure as that king, well, he hoped that he would be remembered as the most...flair-prone (was that even a word?) king in the short history of that country. And in wandering the cosmere, he had claimed a title that had more flair than any he had yet heard. Hoid. The Wanderer, the Meddler, the Inciter of War (well - he'd claim that. It was a justified war, after all. Odium had had to go, even if it hadn't been permanent), the Reforger of God (well, almost. It wasn't his fault that the stupid people he'd hired had run off with the Shards instead of uniting them like they were supposed to). Under that title he had meddled from Roshar to Scadrial and everywhere in between. Until some half-witted idiot had tried to kill him. He couldn't even remember how it had happened or who it had been, but some wonderfully ambitious, cunning, or malevolent fool had tried to separate his life from his body. And to add insult to injury, he had nearly succeeded. Well then, it was finally time to come back. As soon as he could get himself out of this cursed house. He paused, reflecting. Probably literally cursed, actually. Perhaps he could even call it...Colors-cursed? A grin spread across the shadow of what had once been his face. Yes. That would do. That would do well indeed. A shape moved nearby. Squinting, he saw a woman being helped out of a box, a maniacal smile on her face. She might even have been laughing - the Physical Realm was hard to perceive from his position. Smiling, he reached down an incorporeal hand to aid her. It passed right through, of course. Blast his senses! Why couldn't he get things right? Well, it was the thought that counted, right? ------------------------------------- I'm going to vote for Daniyah. I can corroborate Wilson's story, and I'd like to up the pressure enough that our resident suspect feels obligated to respond.

The item wouldn't have reached you on time anyway if I had gone by the method you had been preferring the whole Night. This kinda makes me little suspicious of you. I mean, sure, you could be a villager who got attacked by the Elims. But it could also be that you're one of them. You're a high-profile player, someone who the Elims would want to target, as Elenion pointed out a few cycles ago (when Bard was killed). That's what people would expect, you being taken out by the Elims. So, seeing as how you were protected the very Night you were attacked, it kind of seems like it was planned. You were attacked by the Elims, but didn't die because you were protected. That way people would stop questioning why you were still alive. Edit- And I didn't give you the item this cycle because I wanted to use another action, which was definitely not a kill order. Edited December 6, 2016 by Daniyah
little wilson she/her Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 18 minutes ago, Daniyah said: The item wouldn't have reached you on time anyway if I had gone by the method you had been preferring the whole Night. True, but if you were a villager you'd want a Mistborn to have a vial of Pewter as soon as possible. If you were a Traitor, you wouldn't. If you were a Traitor, you would tell the Mistborn in the last 30 minutes of the night that you wanted to wait a night to pass that vial so you could avoid passing it to the Mistborn. Then, you'd have the Mistborn attacked, and hope that the knowledge of your passing delay would be lost, since it was in the last 30 minutes. If the Mistborn dies, the knowledge is lost and you get to keep the vial (since if you passed the vial, it would get eaten by the house in the Mistborn's death). And if, somehow, the Mistborn survived, they wouldn't have Pewter to protect themselves the following night. Really, it's a win-win for the Traitors. Either the Mistborn dies or the Mistborn has no protection. Quote This kinda makes me little suspicious of you. I mean, sure, you could be a villager who got attacked by the Elims. You were attacked by the Elims, but didn't die because you were protected. That way people would stop questioning why you were still alive. Easy words to attempt to cast suspicion on an important village role that you just failed to kill. No one was really wondering why I was still alive since I've been RPing the entire game. I'd be RPing this post right now but there are things that I can't RP since it's about me as a person. Like the fact that I was protected. You think that was surprising? Really? I don't. I didn't know there were actions that could protect others, but while I did predict that I would be attacked (hence why I told Seonid, Aonar and El to look at you if I died), and I wasn't expecting to survive that attack, I'm not surprised that I was protected, given items/abilities that protect other players. I was only aware of self-protects, but that's I'm only familiar with the allomantic metals at this current moment in time. If the village would like to kill their Mistborn, vote for me. If you want to kill a Traitor, vote for Dani. EDIT: And yes, I'm aware that I'm banking my role reveal on Dani's alignment. But I was suspicious of her even before this attack, and I'm far from the only one. This attack really just solidifies in my mind that Dani is indeed a Traitor, and if she is, the Traitors already know that I'm the Mistborn, so there's no harm in revealing it in the thread.
Straw he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 It sounds like Daniyah was hoping for the death of a main village role. I would appreciate if Daniyah either told us what her action was or told us why the item wouldn't have reached Wilson in time.
Araris Valerian he/him Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Aralis woke up to pointed fingers. None of them were pointed at him, fortunately. He was getting tired in his old age, and good chairs just weren't as easy to find as they used to be. So the last night he had stayed put and gotten a good rest. It seemed that Khaos and Yiferian were at odds with each other, although the details apparently involved some private conversation they had been having. Khaos, true to her name, was definitely stirring up a racket, but Yiferian didn't seem to have much to say in response other to attack Khaos as a person. That didn't make much sense to Aralis, since if being crazy wasn't enough to discredit somebody, then personal attacks surely wouldn't do the trick. Well, it seems like passionate!Wilson has showed up! I don't really like how Daniyah has avoid giving us information about the situation, but instead gone to attack Wilson directly. I don't really know how the role system works in this game, but the eliminators definitely gain roles upon their conversion, which makes me suspect that they don't have a protection role. In my judgement then, a WGG is unlikely. I suppose my stance is the same as Straw (Ookla the Paranoid)'s; I would like to hear from @Daniyah both what her action was and the item that she was going to pass, although I suspect the second is a Vial of Iron or a Mixed Metal Vial. And I'll hold off my vote for now, both to allow further discussion on this topic, and to possibly pressure other players later to not waste the rest of daytime discussion if we decide to lynch Daniyah early on. @Wyrmhero, if somebody has a role (from Exploring) and becomes a traitor, would they then have 2 roles?
Ecthelion III he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Wilson First, because of the lynch on Len Second, because of thanking the doctor
Jondesu he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Quintus squinted in the dim light and thought back over his cryptic conversations with Yiferien. She'd been somewhat guarded, trying to tease out answers to her questions from him while rarely sharing anything about herself. She'd also claimed to have found nothing when he asked her a few nights previous, but now Khaos claimed that Yiferian had found something that she'd kept to herself, even though Khaos said it would have helped her. Of course, there'd been plenty of time for Yiferian to have found something since then, but a whole group was forming up against her, and Quintus wanted to be sure someone else wasn't stirring the pot. Khaos was probably okay, though he guessed she could have attacked someone else and been overpowered, but he didn't think that likely. Aralis was likewise watching the argument from the sidelines, but Quintus didn't have any interest in approaching the possibly insane man. He sat down next to Dr Arelle instead. "You're a scholar of some type, right? BioChromatic theory, was it? Have you found anything that might tell us what in the Colors is going on with this house, or these crazy people stuck in here with us?" (Summoning @Wonko the Sane if he wants to RP with Quintus.)
Straw he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 To be on the cautious side it is possible that Wilson is an eliminator who that used a self protect/second life ability to avoid a kill by Daniyah. Soenid, can you tell us more about this turn of events given how you claimed to be able to corroborate it?
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 19 minutes ago, Jondesu said: (Summoning @Wonko the Sane if he wants to RP with Quintus.) Gah. I wish, man. Ask me again in a week, after finals are over. In the mean time, if you want to include Konwa in your RP, go right ahead. She's young, naïve, energetic, and brilliant. No RP powers. Expert researcher, but inexperienced field operative. Overwhelming sense of curiosity, and a mild tendency to get sidetracked by questions she finds fascinating. I'd like to bring it to the group's attention that Dani opened a PM with me the night before last, and said that something to the effect of "First off, have you found anything good while exploring?" After I replied that I hadn't, she went silent. She has still said nothing to me, despite clearly implying that this was meant to be the start of a larger conversation. This raised a few flags as a possible fishing attempt, but I decided to let it go at the time. In light of recent events, though, it seems pertinent to bring it up.
Jondesu he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I might do that, Wonko. That's basically how the PM Dani started with me went as well. She did ask if I was an Elim, the night after when she started the PM, to which I obviously told her no (seriously, what did she expect?), and she claimed the same of herself, but I find that to be a useless question since you can't read someone's reaction to it usually.
Seonid he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 This is what I can corroborate. Towards the beginning of the Night Turn, Wilson came to our PM and revealed her role to me - she said she was a Mistborn and asked me to keep an eye out for any metal vials. She also revealed that one of the items stolen (I'll let the party who it was stolen from reveal that if they wish) was a vial of metal that was supposed to come to her tonight, but couldn't because it was stolen. She also claimed to have no metal vials at the moment. I didn't have any metal vials - I haven't found anything at all, even though I have searched every night (except for one that I missed, apparently - Night 3, I think it was). So I'm roleless and itemless. But that's ok. We chatted for a little while about other things, then the PM tapered off into silence. Then, 20 minutes before the end of the cycle, she responded again in the PM, saying that Daniyah had claimed to have a vial of Pewter - supposedly a mass protection item - and had planned to give it to her and then changed plans at the last minute. She told me that Daniyah was to blame if she died tonight, since Dani knew her role. Wilson also gave me a list of people who knew her role, which were Dani, myself, Elbereth, and Aonar, and one other. I did not see that PM notification until after the day turn had started. I returned to the Shard about 11 minutes after turnover, checked my PM first, replied, found out it was Day Turn, and promptly apologized to Wyrm. At which point, I looked up today's thread, saw the turn of events, and decided to vote for Daniyah. That Wilson was protected is no real surprise - I would suspect that either she had some sort of protection item (likely not a vial of metal - just because she likes to be as honest as possible, and she was very specific in her PM about not possessing any metal vials, but made no mention of other items. That seems like just the type of apparent oversight she would exploit if she were attempting to mislead) and was trying to draw an attack, or that someone else (either among the group who knew her role or not) protected her for unknown reasons. A wounded gazelle gambit is possible, but those don't tend to turn out well - though I've been gone from the Shard long enough that the memory of past failed gambits could have faded enough to make it a possibly attractive option now. However, Wilson is the least likely among the active players for me to suspect that of. Not because she wouldn't do it - if she thought she could pull it off, she'd do it in a heartbeat. But her roleplay has already changed her normal playstyle enough that she has a sufficient reason to fly under the radar as regards suspicion. In fact, her character (chosen before the game started, and likely deliberately so) is near-perfect for avoiding suspicion already. The chaotic, random player who never interacts except through roleplay? How do you notice a change in behavior if she gets converted? That's why I don't believe that this was a Wounded Gazelle Gambit, because Wilson is already in a position to garner trust and avoid suspicion. Of course, I've been fooled by her before, and probably will be again, so take my assessment with a grain of salt. But this is the best lead I've seen all game, and of the two options, Daniyah seems more suspicious to me than Wilson. 4

Ecthelion III he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 (edited) OK, that makes more sense now. Wilson, I have a more specific question. How did you become Mistborn? Was it a vial of lerasium? Edited December 7, 2016 by Ookthelion III
Dani she/her Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Well, I won't be able to convince so many people to change their minds about me. If I'm being lynched I guess my items will be revealed anyway so I might as well reveal them myself: a vial of pewter with one charge (grants self-protection), and a Medical Fabrial with two uses (can be used to protect any player). For two cycles Elbereth had been asking me for metal vials but refusing to tell me whom she was collecting them for (because the Mistborn had asked not to be revealed). The reason the vial wouldn't have reached the Mistborn in time was because I was supposed to pass it to Elbereth, who'd have passed it on to the Mistborn next cycle. I found out who the Mistborn was, so I asked Wilson herself to confirm it. She denied, but when I told her I was hoping to pass my vial to the Mistborn directly she admitted being the Mistborn. And so I asked her if she wouldn't mind receiving it the next cycle since I wanted to use another action this cycle. She said okay. This was like 30(?) minutes before turnover. As for the question I asked Jondesu and a few others if they were an Elim, yes, I do that. I am aware how pointless it is and yet I do it in every game What else am I missing Sounds like so many people are suspicious of me I won't be escaping the lynch. At least with my death you'd gain information.
Jondesu he/him Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 (edited) @Daniyah, what action did you use this cycle, though? Did you use the fabrial instead, or do you have something else? That's what's not adding up. Edit: I can confirm that @Elbereth was asking about vials. I don't have any so I couldn't help, but I can corroborate that part. I'm actually a bit suspicious of Elbereth with this little tale; what better option than to find out who a Mistborn is, yet get the vials herself and also get rid of an important role? I'm not accusing her directly yet, but I'd like a bit more to this story. @little wilson, did you approach Elbereth and role claim, or are you not who she was gathering vials for? Edited December 7, 2016 by Jondesu
little wilson she/her Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I found a Lerasium bead on Night 2 and ingested it Night 3. The night I ingested it, I was talking to El, who had a vial of Iron that she was going to pass to me, but thief stole it from her, which left me with nothing to do last night and no protection for myself. Dani PMed me for the first time a little over an hour before the cycle ended. That entire night, she'd been in contact with El, and El had been telling me what was going on in that PM. With 50 minutes left in the cycle, she asked if I was the Mistborn. I denied it, but admitted that I knew El was looking for vials of metal. She responded at less than 45 minutes left of the cycle that it's a good thing I'm not the Mistborn, because she was going to pass her vial to me. I decided that if it meant I could get a vial of Pewter that night, it was worth revealing myself to her, even though I was suspicious of her. Not all of my suspicions are going to pan out (as we saw with Len last cycle, who I was near-certain was evil, and am rather irritated wasn't). I responded with 34 minutes left in the cycle that I was indeed the Mistborn and would really like her vial of Pewter (she hadn't mentioned what vial she had before this, so it was my way of saying that I was in contact with El and knew about her conversation with El). Dani replied, asking if she could wait a cycle to give me the vial, because she had another action she wanted to do. I agreed, because I don't believe in forcing players to do something they don't wish to do. I ask and if they say no, then that's it. The most I do is take note of any suspiciousness with that refusal (which not all refusals are going to be suspicious. This one was because of the timing of it). I spent the last 30 minutes of the night PMing Aonar, Seonid and El, telling them what had just happened and giving them the details in case I died. I was almost certain I was going to be attacked because it felt to me like she'd baited me to get me to admit to being the Mistborn and then pulled back the bait once she got what she wanted. And really, what did she do? If she used the Medical Fabrial, who'd she protect? It obviously wasn't me, because if it had been, she would've mentioned that in her first post rather than accusing me of a WGG. So Dani, what did you do last night?
