@Delightful, I believe the Tessaract has been confirmed as the Space Gem. If not confirmed, it's very likely. I really didn't think that what was in Loki's staff had been confirmed as the Mind Gem either, because of the weird logic that would have Thanos loan it to Loki as mentioned.

hang on. The tesseract is not a mind stone? Then what is it?

It's Space Stone. Mind Stone was in Loki's Scepter, now it's in Vision's forehead. Aether (red liquid thing) from Thor 2 is Reality Stone, and the purple stone from GotG is the power stone. And that's all we know so far.

Still waiting on green and orange, I think time and soul correct? I think Strange may focused on the latter and perhaps panther the former?

Yeah, I think Dr Strange had the Soul Gem at at least one time in the comics, and they might include it in his movie. I don't know that they will, but it could be a good time to at least introduce it.

Alternately, what if Thanos already has one or more of those? He's looking to get them all, but that would also make it more understandable that he would give Loki one of his three in order to get some of the others.

@Jondesu I like your theory about Thanos possibly already having some of the other Stones. Kinda reminds me of a conversation between Harry and Dumbledore in HP #6 about Voldemort's Horcruxes. Dumbledore said something about how the fact that Voldemort gave the Horcrux diary--which contained a piece of his soul--to Lucius Malfoy indicated that it wasn't his only backup plan, because you don't just give something that valuable to a minion who doesn't even know what it is unless you have another one stashed away somewhere safe. Knowing how paranoid Thanos is, I'd say this is a good guess at his motivations.

Sooo... I've seen Ant-man. I liked that.
At the end, is that girl when saying "there is a guy who jumps, guy who swings and a guy who climbs walls" referring to Spider-man? (I know that he's in Civil War, but haven't seen that yet) Because the wording seems like she's talking about three different persons but I can only think of one person matching those descriptions. (I mean that "a guy who jumps" would be Spider-man... but "a guy who swings" would also be Spider-man and "a guy who climbs" is definitely Spider-man??? So headscratching here at the weird wording.)

Yeah, that's an oblique reference to Spider-Man. I think Spider-Man in Civil War might be my favorite movie version of the character yet, so I hope you get to watch that one soon! Tom Holland is hilarious.

Actually, from what I hear, they didn't know if they had Spidey at the time, so that was just a vague reference.

I dunno how it is on the show, but Daredevil tends to swing using his Billy club in the comics, so it could have been a reference to him. Spider-man is just a serendipitous catch.

He's does that on the show, not that much, but he does.

Yeah, the MCU definitely didn't have Spidey yet when they filmed that Ant-Man scene. It was definitely supposed to be a reference to Spider-Man (even though, yes, the way it's worded makes it sound like he's probably referring to three different people). If I'm remembering the timeline correctly, they were hoping that it would be more than an Easter Egg-type reference and that they would actually get to use Spider-Man; the deal just hadn't completely gone through yet, so it wasn't a sure thing.

I doubt that the "swinging" part was a Daredevil reference. Daredevil got his modified billy club that allows him swing around late in season 2. That was released 3/16, and Ant-Man came out 7/15. While the timelines don't necessarily match up exactly, Ant-Man still came out 8 months before Daredevil season 2.

Oh, I'm sure it wasn't MEANT as a reference to Daredevil. In fact, I don't thinkit was meant as a reference to any SPECIFIC character... just mean that, if they hadn't got Spidey, it could probably be reinterpreted to mean DD.

Woah, you guys had a whole conversation on the infinity gems....and I had no idea.
Alot of what you guys have said is correct however, and to add.....ILLUMINATIIIIIII

No seriously, Marvel's version of the Illuminati, consisting of Namor, Ironman, Dr Strange, Panther, Reed Richards, Xavier and Black Bolt.

They are formed to gaurd the infinity stones after Infinity War. (unless Marvel decide not to use Illuminati)

Most of these guys will appear in MCU, Black Bolt in INhumans, and Namor...idk Richards will be harder to get considering copyright issues.

Who's reed Richards? I know that name...

also, not MCU exactly but......the new young black female iron man has her superhero name! Ironheart!

......I don't remember her civilian name. But she looks really cool!

think Reed Richard is a member of the Fantastic Four though I'm not sure :)

Ironheart's real name is Riri Williams...she supposed to be fifteen...I think that's young for a superhero but well

I don't know much about Ms Marvel...spider man seems to have age issues in the Cinematic Universe (you know...they keep decreasing his age with every actor) so I looked it up and here's what I found:

Whaaaat, you guys don't know who reed richards is....?

Mr Fantastic

Which Ms Marvel?? Carol Danvers or Kamala Khan?

Kamala Khan is the latest one who took over Danvers

270?cb=20140224055605 Kamala Khan, I'd say she is around 18, seeing as she still lives with her parents. She's also Pakistani (like me) which is cool.

latest?cb=20100312100807

That's Danvers, I'd say mid 20s to 30s

Brian Michael Bendis is amaaaaaaazing, don't you all think??

Yeah... Reed Richards is Mister Fantastic.  (Facepalm)

Also, I believe Moonstone was a Pseudo Ms Marvel for a while.  I think Kamala Khan is cool for the new comics, although I was never a big fan of Carol Danvers myself.

edit; Ninja'd by Darkness.  Thank you for knowing who Reed Richards is.  I had almost lost all hope in humanity.

No. No I do not. For many reasons. Which might derail the thread.

... MCU illuminati would be interesting though. I don't think they can get Reed at this point, and even if they did, I think they'd be hesitant to use him...

But they could make some alterations, I think. Use Hank Pym instead of Reed, and that gets the same point across with brilliant scientist of the unknown in the private sector.

Xavier, you could replace with Carol Danvers. The deal with the Illuminati was that they were supposed to representable the different sectors of the superhero community. Without mutants, you could use Carol to represent the Cosmic side of things, while continuing to push her as one of Marvel's premiere characters.

Without Mutants, they can just use their current Pseudo Mutant Inumans.  Honestly, they are so darn similar right now...

Ugh.  I could go on and on about what they are doing with the Inhumans, but I enjoy Agents of Shield too much, so I'll leave that alone for now.

Riri! That's right!

how old is Ms Marvel? Spider-Man?

The Spider-Man who is now part of the MCU (played by Tom Holland) is around 15 or 16, I believe--about the same age as he was when he was bitten in the comics. Personally I loved seeing a teenage Spidey on the big screen during Civil War. I think Tom Holland's performance really captured the combination of nervousness and snark that Peter Parker had in the old comics when he was still new to the superhero gig.

I was talking about Kamala, I got the impression she's 16-17. (I'm not Pakistani but there was so much I could relate to  "mmm delicious delicious infidel meat" :D

I was (badly) trying to make a point that other heroes are young and I don't think Riri being 15 is ridiculous.

I really want Daisy to show up in a movie....unlikely though.

I still think of her as Skye in my head most of the time.
