Something like, "When the king was killed, we swore vengeance. 6 years later, having wrought a slaughter, we still have not asked ourselves the reason for his assassination, nor sought to end the perpetual battles we fight."- could be either Dalinar or Jasnah speaking. Plays a short montage of plateau runs and field battles, ending with Kaladin and his squad (a little further back) rushing Helaran. Next, Shallan in front of Jasnah or Adolin in front of Dalinar (whoever opened the trailer), where the voiceover-giver says a line (thus establishing their character) Then, cuts to Kaladin finishing up his talk with Wit, and Wit leaves with, "Well, there certainly are a lot of actors in this play, and I can't spend all my time coaching just you." etc. stuff that introduces a recognizable plot with familiar plot elements so people can compare it to stuff they've seen before 1

And if this sounds too much like T-Rex from dinosaur Comics...then I'm going to refrain from making a tautological statement here, folks. I mean, the princess bride movie having a frame story has some solid justification, because the author kind of had a frame story where he pretended to be abridging an existing book. That said, framing is a time-tested means of telling a story. Seeing as Hoid's stories in-universe have a way of becoming much more vivid then just spoken words, what if the narrator was in fact Hoid? (yes, that would mean the frame story would also take place in the cosmere, not on earth) It would kind of work, seeing as he isn't a major character in any of the books yet, but he has an overarching importance that all the cosmere books have hinted at. 1

I put the design of an Honorblade in the ending title screen(like this image, where his two sabers were morphed into the roman number 2 behind the logo in the trailer) We know that the names for one-ten are named after the 10 Heralds. Jes - 1 - Jezrien. Shash - 6 - Shalash. Ishi - 10 - Ishar. etc.. so I figured we could have their respective Honorblade be the "numbering" of the 10 movies. It'd be a neat easter egg for people who've read the books, and it'll just look awesome for those who haven't. Sample Scene from my WoK trailer draft(that I never got around to finishing because I'm a lazy sod) Quote Muted, maybe slow-motion: Soldiers with half-shards enter room to voice-over: "What are you?"Cut to rapid flashes of battle: Szeth clashing with Shardbearers amid fallen soldiers, a Shardbearer being hit with a lashed boulder, Szeth shearing through soldiers. Cut to Szeth standing over Hanavanar, blade held high. "Death" Lowers blade, fade to title screen.Title Screen: Morph Szeth's lowering blade into Jezrien's Honorglyph and stop with blade vertical as "The Way of Kings" appears overlaid. Visualizing the scene in my head, I felt it transitioned rather well. The same can not presently be said for my WoR trailer(a draft that is even more unfinished) Quote Probably a Voice-over: Dalinar saying "Where is our Honor?"Similar rapid cutting style to the prior trailer(not that I've decided what scenes will be in this bit yet, some of Adolin's 4v1 for sure)Voice-over: "Honor is dead,"Cut to Dalinar, camera turns towards Kaladin, spear in hand. "but I'll see what I can do." Kaladin vaults over the wall into the arena below. Fade to title screen as Kaladin nears the ground. Title Screen: Kaladin lands in a crouch, spear tip embedding into the ground. Morph spear into Nalan's Honorglyph as "Words of Radiance" appears overlaid. We can all agree that there is no other scene that could end a trailer as perfectly as "Honor is dead" can. So while I'm still looking for a scene that could better carry the blade transition, I'll make do. If I do find a better scene that doesn't spoil too much, I'll use it, and transfer Kaladin's line and subsequent leap into the arena as the transition from exposition segment into the action packed portion of the trailer. For those who aren't familiar with my usage of the term Honorglyph, (it's because I made it up) they are the Honorblade Glyph Artworks we have gotten on the Parts 1, 2, & 3 pages of WoK and WoR. For reference: Jezrien, Nalan, Chana. In WoR we got Shalash, Battar and Kalak (6, 7, & 8 respectively.) I would assume we'll get 3 of the others in Oathbringer(probably Vedel, Paliah and Ishar, so that Taln's is left out because of course it is.) I did the same thing as I did for my WoK and WoR ones in following the back blurb, but I had to move stuff around quite a bit and omit some stuff to keep it shortish and not give too much about the Singers. Enjoy! We see Dalinar’s back as he watches the darkness of the Everstorm flow toward Urithiru’s plateau, rumbling in the distance, red lightning flashing and distant thunder. Voiceover: A new storm has come. Multiple Singer figures brace before the storm. It hits them, and the chaos of it is shown. ~~~ Voiceover: Radiance has returned to some… Renarin summons his Blade for Adolin Kaladin soars up out of a town in Alethkar, the people cheering Dalinar turns and sees Lift on a rocky plain. Voiceover: And shines towards others. A Shardblade appears in Malata’s hand (we don’t see her face though). Bridge Four trains, a rotating shot shows Stormlight being sucked out of a gem and cuts away before showing someone’s face. Veil sits with Vathah and the rest of her crew in a bar. ~~~ Voiceover: The Unmade-shadows of the Enemy's soul-stir… Rapid flashes of Kholinar, citizens dressed as spren, the corrupted spren of the city, eyes turning red, A shadow in a mirror, white spots instead of eyes Voiceover: While the eyes of men open. Jasnah and Ivory in her study. Jasnah: Ten orders, all ended in death. Ivory: All but one. An Oathgate flashes, Taravangian and his retinue exit it, looking in wonder. Voiceover: This war is not, and never was, what they thought it to be. The chasmfiend climbs up out of the chasm. Cut of Dalinar running, pulling on his helmet, and summoning his Shardblade towards the beast. ~~~ Voiceover: “The world can change." *Kaladin runs with his bridge crew, beginning a charge against the Parshendi, blood running down his shoulders.* *Dalinar fights in a sea of Parshendi, slicing through them, Adolin is visible in the distance.* *Kaladin and Bridge Four shoving their bridge across the chasm and soldiers cross immediately. STRENGTH BEFORE WEAKNESS (Words on black screen in Stormlight font) Dalinar charges the chasmfiend alone towards Elhokar in his gold Shardplate, arrows whiz over him towards the beast. JOURNEY BEFORE DESTINATION (Words on black screen in Stormlight font) Doors with the Knights Radiant chart swing open in front of Shallan into the Veil. ~~~ The world dissolves around Shallan into Shadesmar, and we see her begin to fall. Szeth attacks three Shardbearers, two in Shardplate, one wearing a crown (the Veden king). Dalinar and Adolin are surrounded by Parshendi on the Tower, crying out. Kaladin, at the front of the bridge, screams as the four men around him are killed by arrows. ~~~ (fade to black) THEN, EITHER Tien’s face is shown smiling. “It’s not as bad as it seems, Kaladin. You’ll see.” OR *Lirin, face illuminated by the goblet of diamond spheres, says “Somebody has to start. The Rhythm of Destruction. Voiceover: The Knights Radiant must stand again. Wide shot of Kaladin soaring over the Shattered Plains, Shallan creating Veil's face through Lightweaving, and Dalinar shouting, "I will unite instead of divide!!" Voiceover: The ancient oaths have again been spoken. Kaladin bursts alight with Stormlight as Syl shouts, "Stretch forth thy hand!" Voiceover: Men seek what was lost, but I fear the quest will destroy them. The Stormfather saying "You have killed her." Pattern saying, " Someday, you will kill me." Voiceover: It is the nature of the magic. A broken soul has cracks into which something can be fit. Surgebinding, the powers of creation themselves. They can brace a broken soul, but they can also widen its fissures. Kaladin says, "This is what comes from trusting lighteyes, Syl. Never again." Shallan saying to Pattern, "I hate you." Voiceover: The Windrunner is lost in a shattered land, balanced upon the boundary between vengeance and honor. Moash saying, " You know I'm right, don't you, Kal?" Cuts to Kaladin saying, "I gave my word to Dalinar." Syl responding, "You gave your word to Moash too..." Voiceover: The Lightweaver, slowly being consumed by her past, searches for the lie she must become. Shallan weeping as her father turns her away from the bodies. Cut to adult Shallan turning over the body of her mother, but it fades before we can fully see her face. Voiceover: The Bondsmith, born in blood and death, now strives to rebuild what was destroyed. Dalinar pulling off a lastclap as Szeth swings his sword toward him, and Dalinar reciting the parable about the stacked rocks to the highprinces. Voiceover: The Explorer, straddling the fates of two peoples, is forced to choose between slow death and a terrible betrayal of all she believes. Shots of Eshonai in the storm, holding the glowing gemstone, and Eshonai fighting Adolin. Voiceover: It is past time for them to awaken. Montage of clips of Radiants, Parshendi, and the Battle of Narak, with glowing eyes awakening across the chasm. It goes faster and faster until it blurs to black, and we start to see red bursts of light. Voiceover: For the Everstorm looms. Red lightning flashes across the screen, and amid the thunder, we hear an eerie, haunting song. Voiceover: And the Assassin has arrived. The music reaches a crescendo as Szeth slams into the ground amid feasting lighteyes, glowing with Stormlight, holding his Honorblade. They scream as he sweeps through them and Shardbearers charge out. Silence and a black screen, with Words Of Radiance projected in white-blue Stormlight letters. Show Shallan saying "Journey before destination" With the other two voices at the same time *Music swells* Show as many fight scenes as possible, each for only a second, all building up to Dalinar saying "The most important words a man can say are" Zoom outwards really fast until you can see all of Roshar. "I will do better" - Spoken slowly and clearly Show Wit, sitting by the fire "Too often, we forget that" Turn to Kaladin, sitting by the fire, in thought. Fade to black. A deep voice says "Honor lives on in the hearts of men" Movie Title 1

AND THE ASSASSIN IS BACK A figure of white silhouetted against black, rain crashing against him. Cut to Adolin and Dalinar's horrified faces. "I am Szeth Son-Son-Vallano. I do as my Masters demand, and I do not ask questions!" A shot of his Blade clashing against Dalinar's. The hand now writes “Zero zero zero zero” The Parshendi arrayed in stormform, eyes glowing and lightning flashing, chanting as the camera pans over Dalinar’s army. The sky breaks. Lightning flashes. Dalinar kneels beneath a fracturing sky, holding his son. Adolin kneeling before the corpse of his horse, disbelieving. Lightning flashing, people screaming. Parshendi singing. A flash of light, Szeth crashes before Dalinar, mad, implacable, Shardblade summoned. Dalinar shouting at Shallan to find a way to get them out of there Dalinar summoning his blade just in time to meet Szeths Adolin watching, horrified, as Szeth Lashes Dalinar into the sky. (Most triumphant part of the music) LIFE BEFORE DEATH Kaladin, bloodied, bruised, broken, warding an unseen figure from two more figures in the shadows. “You. Will not. Have him.” STRENGTH BEFORE WEAKNESS Dalinar clashes Blades with Szeth. JOURNEY BEFORE DESTINATION "Something is wrong with your Shardblades. All except...for mine." You can’t protect by killing,” and his face falls.* ~~~ Voiceover: “The second is the assassin.” Szeth cups Stormlight lamps in the king’s hallway. A guard abruptly yells, “You there!” Szeth breathes in Light, and the hall grows dark. Flash forward a bit to one guard on the ground, Szeth summons his Blade. The remaining guard yells “Shardbearer! A Shardbearer assaults the king’s hall!” Szeth flips around in the air and lands on the ceiling. Smash cut of him slicing through men and flying down the hallway. Glimpses of him fighting the king and then him outside with the king impaled on a beam. “I’m sorry.” ~~~ Voiceover: “The third is the liar.” *Shallan’s hair blows to the side as we see her back as she sails into Kharbranth, she clutches her sketchbook, the city is displayed before her.* *Shallan turns a corner in the Conclave she gasps softly when she sees Jasnah Kholin* *Shot focuses on Soulcaster in Jasnah's hand then switches to her in the alley with her Soulcaster hand raised, light flowing from it towards the criminals, the men running from it.* “You killed them!” “Do you condone what those men were planning to do?” “Of course not, but that doesn’t make what you did right, either!” “Am I a monster or a hero?” Shallan’s face hardens and the screen fades to black. ~~~ Voiceover: “The last is the highprince.” “Six years in this war of Vengeance,” Dalinar says as we see him sitting on his horse. Adolin and Renarin watch him in the background. “All wars are games. To fight, to kill, to win,” we hear Roion say. Soldiers slay Parshendi and the ones remaining run. The soldiers look over at the great shell larva. A gemheart is pulled from the shell. “Sometimes the prize is not worth the costs.” Dalinar, Adolin, and Bashin look apprehensively across towards a chasm as a chull pulling a frayed rope runs from it, bleating. The chasmfiend climbs up out of the chasm. Cut of Dalinar running, pulling on his helmet, and summoning his Shardblade towards the beast. ~~~ Voiceover: “The world can change." *Kaladin runs with his bridge crew, beginning a charge against the Parshendi, blood running down his shoulders.* *Dalinar fights in a sea of Parshendi, slicing through them, Adolin is visible in the distance.* *Kaladin and Bridge Four shoving their bridge across the chasm and soldiers cross immediately. Voiceover: “These four people are key." *Dalinar pauses in the battle and looks at the carnage around him and whispers “Almighty…”* (bass drop) *Bridge crews around Kaladin fall, dozens of bodies on the rock as Sadeas army gets in formation behind them.* *Shallan in a room sitting in a pool of blood.* *Parshendi swarm on a group of Kholin soldiers from the distance.* *Dalinar sits in a room bound to a chair screaming and writhing as thunder blasts outside.* *Szeth runs through a Stormlit room of richly dressed people, the room dimming as he runs through Lashing people sideways, crying.* *Kaladin, strung up, is hit by the stormwall.* (fades to black) (pause) ~~~ LIFE BEFORE DEATH (Words on black screen in Stormlight font) Kaladin stands in hard but weakening rain before the Honor Chasm, tears mixing with raindrops. STRENGTH BEFORE WEAKNESS (Words on black screen in Stormlight font) Dalinar charges the chasmfiend alone towards Elhokar in his gold Shardplate, arrows whiz over him towards the beast. JOURNEY BEFORE DESTINATION (Words on black screen in Stormlight font) Doors with the Knights Radiant chart swing open in front of Shallan into the Veil. ~~~ The world dissolves around Shallan into Shadesmar, and we see her begin to fall. Szeth attacks three Shardbearers, two in Shardplate, one wearing a crown (the Veden king). Dalinar and Adolin are surrounded by Parshendi on the Tower, crying out. Kaladin, at the front of the bridge, screams as the four men around him are killed by arrows. ~~~ (fade to black) THEN, EITHER Tien’s face is shown smiling. “It’s not as bad as it seems, Kaladin. He stops in front of his wall in front of some glyphs etched in the wall. “Sixty-two days. Death follows,” he reads ominously. He turns away to fetch his guards Voiceover: The ancient oaths have at last been spoken. Kaladin in his Kholin uniform. Syl’s voice: “Life before death, Kaladin.” Voiceover: The spren return. Flash of Syl, Wyndle, Ivory, (maybe Ym’s spren) Pattern’s distinct voice: “I know... little of humans.” A pattern is raised on her sketchbook when she looks back down. "Their minds break. You did not break. Only cracked." ~~~ Voiceover: Men seek what was lost. Dalinar’s voice: “Alethkar ended as a kingdom centuries ago." The camera pans around the Plains, showing Narak in the center, and the Parshendi there. Adolin wears Dalinar’s armor and stands before Eshonai at their talk. Dalinar’s voice: “This thing we have created is not Alethkar." Kaladin soars over the Plains, windspren behind him and Syl beside him. Jasnah, surrounded by inky spren in Shadesmar, forms the castle hallway in glass beads. Dalinar sits in a room with Elhokar, Kaladin, Adolin, Renarin, General Khal, and Brightness Teshav. Dalinar: "Alethkar was justice. We are children wearing our father’s cloak.” (fade to black) (pause) ~~~ Voiceover: I fear the quest will destroy them. (music swells) Shallan is shown lying facedown and soaked on a beach, wreckage around her. Sadeas slams Oathbringer down into a table. Adolin is shown facing two Shardbearers, Shardplate cracked. Eshonai stands before the Stormfather. Renarin looks at glyphs carved in a door and reads, “Thirty-eight days. The end of all nations." Dalinar moves out of the way of the camera and Amaram is there. The camera rotates around to Kaladin’s glowering face. Adolin jumps for Dalinar as the bridge behind them collapses ~~~ Voiceover: The Windrunner Kaladin in the prison behind bars. Don’t dwell on the past.” A redheaded man carries Shallan out of a room, the camera focuses on bloodied carpet behind them as they exit, Shallan facing towards it, her father away from it. Voiceover: The Bondsmith Dalinar at the meeting of highprinces before Shallan shows up. Navani’s voice: "If you break the kingdom apart, we’ll never unify it.” Dalinar’s voice: “We’ll make certain that it doesn’t break.” Voiceover: The Explorer Eshonai stands before the other four of the Five, Venli behind her Eshonai: “I will agree to this test.” Eshonai stands before the storm, then braces herself against it. It hits. ~~~ Voiceover: It is past time for them to awaken. Eshonai’s voice: “I can feel something building. A storm…” Eshonai’s face flashes, showing red eyes. ~~~ Voice: For the Everstorm looms. Sadeas, talking to Ialai, shardblade slammed into the table in front of him. "By destroying Dalinar, I sought to prevent the collapse of the kingdom. Now I'm wondering if that collapse wouldn't be better for us all." A ring of brightlords in counsel. Adolin speaks. "We need to secure allies... Form a coalition. Sadeas will gather one, and so we counter him with our own." Dalinar, standing on top of Urithiru. The infinite countenance of the stormfather stretches out above him in the sky. Dalinar shouts up to him, "I will unite instead of divide!" Szeth, standing before Taravangian, strain evident in his eyes: "I am truthless. I do as my master requires, and I do not ask for an explanation." Taravangian: "Kill Dalinar." Fades into darkness. -------------- Shows a flash of Dalinar and Szeth facing each other in a highstorm. Shows a flash of Shallan summoning a shardblade next to Kaladin, chasmfiend approaching the crack they are squeezed into.
