Jo and the Bush all/any Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Those of us in the Spec doc were fairly certain that Elodin was attacked, but was in the Dreamrealm, so it failed. We weren't certain why you guys didn't think that was an option. Gamma was also confused about that.

Master Elodin Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) I had considered it, but didn't think it was relevant if he had been detained too. Well, yes, I put in the order to Dreamwalk. It didn't go through, even though I fell asleep in the detainment chamber. Flavour-wise though, wouldn't I die to a Wolf-Brother kill? Edited June 8, 2016 by Master Elodin
little wilson she/her Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I suppose it wouldn't be the first time the eliminators (try to) kill one of the village's top suspects, but that particular strategy usually isn't the best thing to do, particularly not after you've lost such a critical role.

Gamma Fiend he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Well, yes, I put in the order to Dreamwalk. It didn't go through, even though I fell asleep in the detainment chamber. Flavour-wise though, wouldn't I die to a Wolf-Brother kill? In theory, yes. Yeah, yeah, whatever. Thought of that after the game. Oh well. This game has plenty enough flavor as is!
Hellscythe he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Now does it seem more likely that the eliminators purposefully/ made no kill to frame the whitecloaked?
Elbereth she/her Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 ...oops. I missed a day. :/So you know, we apparently have a Wolfbrother killing inactives right now. I suggest you participate if you don't want to get killed. Those of us in the Spec doc were fairly certain that Elodin was attacked, but was in the Dreamrealm, so it failed. We weren't certain why you guys didn't think that was an option. Gamma was also confused about that.Welcome, Joe! Um. I'm... confused what you mean by this. Elodin was eliminator-killed but was in the dream realm and not detained? He was in Tel'Aran'Rhiod and detained? Something else? Do we assume then that Gunshy detained Elodin last cycle then?Good question. So. We have several possibilities here, I think. Elodin is an eliminator - Either Gunshy protectively detained Elodin in order to stop him from being vig-killed, or they made that up ( veryunlikely as then Straw would have to be lying too). Or, there's another Whitecloak out there who detained him. (If so, we should hopefully know by morning. If there is another Whitecloak, please detain someone so we know you exist!) Elodin is a villager - Presumably he's telling the truth about being detained. Thus, unless someone gets detained tonight (which, as I said, we will know before we start lynching people again), Gunshy will have been the one who detained him (presumably not knowing about his dreamwalking?). Thus the eliminators didn't attack him unless they didn't understand how Whitecloaks work (possible, if they thought it was just a normal roleblock or whatever, but seems somewhat unlikely). If there is another Whitecloak, things get murkier, but I still agree it'd be bad strategy to kill the villagers' top suspect, particularly when that person might be getting vig-killed anyway. Basically, it comes down to whether there's another Whitecloak or not, and hopefully we'll know the answer to that in the morning and can discuss it with more information then. The nice thing about the plan to attack Elodin is that if he is an eliminator (and not a Dreamwalker), the eliminators just lost at least one form of protecting him from a kill. Now, they could still have a channeler, which would enable them to mimic a Dreamwalker rather nicely with Mask of Mirrors. That's a problem, and I can't think of any way to solve it but attempting to kill him tonight and then again tomorrow night. Anyone have any better ideas? Okay, so we've killed two Darkfriends already, which is impressive. If there's four of them (which seems somewhat likely given Corrupted also factoring in to the evil team numbers), that's half. So... I think we need to start focusing on Padan Fain a bit more. The longer we don't find him, the harder it will be to kill him (or her, obviously - I really dislike using the generally agreed upon pronoun for roles like Fain, Endowment, etc, but I also hate using him/her all the time...>>). Honestly, I don't really know how to do that beyond looking for changes in behavior. It's a lot harder to analyze relationships when there's only two of them. But I do think it's worth noting that Padan Fain is something we need to focus more on. Which reminds me... Aman, where'd you go? I feel like you just dropped off the face of the earth at some point... Now does it seem more likely that the eliminators purposefully/ made no kill to frame the whitecloaked?Um... not really, no. I can see where you're coming from, but I still hold that the eliminators would want to be killing, not just sitting back and making people suspicious of each other. Sorry, but I still don't think it's likely.
STINK he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Gotta love how the whole lynching scene changes after you go to sleep
Young Bard he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 2 Darkfriends in 2 Days... We actually knew 2 Eliminators for certain after Day 1, and we still didn't manage that in LG21... I'm beginning to suspect Gamma put in a secret role that allowed you to fake the alignment of a victim in the write-up... Anyway, I'm going over the last 5-6 pages now. I might not post again until the next day turn, because I have 2 assignments due tomorrow and I've barely started either of them. On the upside, tomorrow evening I can dedicate time to SE completely and totally.
Conquestor he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Nice! I hope that Elodin is evil, I don't want to be wrong again. I do believe that Fain is more of a problem at this point, we have found a Forsaken and Darkfriend, but have no clue as to who could be Fain. Also, as long as Fain is around, we have two worry about people getting corrupted and trusted players being turned against us.

I tried not to let it influence me, because I thought it might violate the Rules of Fair Play to get a read off him like that, but I'm fairly certain he was an actual elim.
twelfthrootoftwo Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Also, Twei, I haven't seen you in a while. Any thoughts? I think I'm regretting signing up for the game. I was on the fence about joining, and there's been far more discussion than I expected. I'm just trying to keep up

STINK he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Cause it takes like forever to read it and if you don't read it well you end up making posts like mine
Straw he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 From now on I will be scanning the person who got the second most votes.
Master Elodin Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 From now on I will be scanning the person who got the second most votes. No, Straw, you won't, as I'm going to be attacked tonight, and I plan to avoid that. If you want to waste your scan, fine. 1
Straw he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) How do you plan to avoid it? EDIT: I have a feeling that Elodin is the channeler. Edited June 8, 2016 by Straw
Elbereth she/her Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 From now on I will be scanning the person who got the second most votes. I also highly advise against this, because telling the whole world who you're going to scan is just ripe for interference. If the Darkfriends have a Channeler, they'll use Mask of Mirrors on your target to stop us from learning anything, for instance. If Elodin weren't already going to be in the dream realm and thus untargetable anyway. He already claimed Dreamwalker, and we're testing that claim tonight. Pick someone else, please.
Dustbringer12 he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Wow. WOW.Two darkfriends lynched in a row. What is the record for that? I mean, if we lynch another one tomorrow, that has to be the record.
Elbereth she/her Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 LG19 might have killed two or three in a row. That'd be not counting the nights/days where no one was lynched, though... Yeah. Deathclutch was killed one night and Yafe was lynched the next day. Far as I know there haven't ever been three in a row, though.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Actually, the record is four in a row. MR2: Servants of Honour, in which the entire Eliminator Team was killed in a row.
Elbereth she/her Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 o.O Ouch. I do recall that, when we were talking about clean sweeps at some point and you (or someone else?) brought up the only ever village clean sweep. That's not fun. At all.
Dustbringer12 he/him Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hey sheep, who do you find the most suspicious?
