Orlion Blight he/him Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Things That Are True: 2. I want to see the new Ghostbusters movie. I'm sure it will be terrible, and yet I don't care. The new trailer is a lot better than the first one, I believe. Though I won't see it immediately, I won't rule it out.I mean, I did see Batman v Superman, after all
Delightful Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) I haven't seen old ghostbusters; I'm tentatively hopeful for the new one. All female protagonists and Chris Hemsworth (a guy!) playing the dumb eye-candy secretary? This could be great. Also disclaimer: I also saw BvS and, well, it should have just been a Wonder Woman movie. She's epic. Edited May 19, 2016 by Delightful
Master Elodin Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Things That Are True: 1. The Shard is now blocked at work. Is this because of you? I can just imagine trying to explain the Shard. "Well, people spend days theorizing about the meaning of single sentences in books, we play mafia but fancier and book-themed, we talk about ponies, movies, work and pugs and make terrible references and inside jokes. Oh, right, we also write stories from the perspective of crazy and bloodthirsty superhumans that can cumulatively become up to 150,000 words long. 1

I think there's a cadre of IT people at Redacted, Inc who check out any websites regularly visited by employees and check to see if they're appropriate. They categorized the Shard as "entertainment" and thus unworthy. And yet they still allow YouTube. They SAY don't go there because bandwidth is precious, but they don't block it.

I get the whole anti-entertainment stance. It makes sense: Block entertainment sites so employees don't waste company time doing things that they should and could be doing on their free time. But the way it's phrased just makes me imagine a bunch of suits at Redacted, Inc holding anti-fun picket signs. 1
Sunbird she/her Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Mestiv, I storming LOVE that music video of "Her Morning Elegance"! I saw it for the first time several years ago and would play it repeatedly in the background while I was doing other things on the computer until I finally just bought the MP3. Also, I saw Civil War last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. On a somewhat-related note, have you guys seen this? 3

Kaymyth she/her Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 You could just use cellular. Ugh. No, please. Better to wait to get home to scroll the Shard than suffer the indignities of the mobile version of the site.
Master Elodin Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I've been without my computer for a few days now and yeah, it sucks. I do have a tablet though, so that helps.
Sunbird she/her Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 That reminds me! I now have a smartphone. It has no SIM card, so it can't do calls or texts or browse the web without a wifi network. But I don't really care about that because I only really wanted it for the Sibley Birds app, which is basically David Allen Sibley's Field Guide to North American Birds in app form. Better than the book-book because you can play birdsongs and keep a log of what birds you see when and where. And it's a lot smaller and easier to tote around than a book, too. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) Spoilery (up to the latest episode) Game of Thrones thoughts: Ramsay Bolton is too stupid to live. Sure, we knew he was a rusting psychopath, but he's also turning out to be a complete idiot. It's like every time he engages his psychobrain, some mysterious power sucks away a few more of his IQ points. Case in point, I will paraphrase his letter to Jon: "Dear Jon Snow,Give me back your sister and leave her to a fate worse than death. 'Cause if you don't, I'll kill her. And I'll kill you. And I'll kill all your wildling friends who totally couldn't give a single blue bleep about my existence until I started threatening to kill them all down to the last man, woman, and child. It's not like they're going to find out about this letter and decide that I am a stain that needs to be wiped off of the face of the planet.<3,Ramsay" Edited May 19, 2016 by Kaymyth

Jo and the Bush all/any Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 My theatre troupe is writing fanfiction starring me. I'm not certain how to feel. 3
Citadel16 he/him Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Is it actually Sebastian Stan though? Isn't his face wider? I must admit, its a bit strange to think that you know the exact dimensions of the faces of both these men...
