Voidus Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 About to watch Avengers: Age of Ultron with my Family. They haven't seen it yet. Unrelated, does anyone have any Sci-fi/Mystery book series they can recommend for a 10 year old genius? (Literal Genius. outsmarts me.) My aunt is asking for her son. Depends on their interests, technology? Science? Maths?
Delightful Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) So on the addictive and negative caffeine thing - what about sugar? Preservatives? Super processed food? Also, guys, I love you. We have a water fight instead of a flame war. Edited March 23, 2016 by Delightful 2
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 So on the addictive and negative caffeine thing - what about sugar? Preservatives? Super processed food? Also, guys, I love you. We have a water fight instead of a flame war. *squirts a water gun at Delightful*
Delightful Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 "Pulls out water sub-machine gun and soaks Nashan'Elin"
Mistrunner Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 So on the addictive and negative caffeine thing - what about sugar? Preservatives? Super processed food? Also, guys, I love you. We have a water fight instead of a flame war. Well, at the time it was written, they didn't really have processed food, but it basically says to eat healthy food- fruit, vegetables, grains, not too much meat. From there, it's your personal choice and interpretation, really.I agree. I love you all. *hugs everyone*
Citadel16 he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Or a lighter. or a crowbar. btw: I love red hood, he is awesome!! he is by far my favorite hero/anti-hero
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 or a crowbar. btw: I love red hood, he is awesome!! he is by far my favorite hero/anti-hero I thought he was a really tragic character, to be honest.

Orlion Blight he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I thought he was a really tragic character, to be honest. In the comics, Jason Todd was killed because the comic book readers voted for his demise!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 In the comics, Jason Todd was killed because the comic book readers voted for his demise! Yes, and revived through the dumbest resurrection story possible. The movie did it much, much better, and succeeded in making Jason more tragic and less…..vote-for-his-demise-able.
Citadel16 he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 read the new 52 red hood and the outlaws, he's a lot cooler in those.
Young Bard he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Went to Parliament House today as part of a Legal Excursion. Question Time was thoroughly entertaining. For the non-Australians and Brits, Question Time is probably the most rowdy aspect of Parliament. It's basically designed so that the Opposition has an opportunity to slander the Government and the Government has a chance to talk themselves up. Also, Sanders won Utah, which is nice. Trump and Clinton won Arizona, though.

My aunt is asking for her son. Well, if he's a literal genius, children's books, or even teen books, might be too easy for him, and he'll get bored. Unfortunately, he's ten, and a lot of the content in books for older folk might be too mature. My suggestions: Ender's Game, The Farsala Trilogy (has some very mild language), and The Kiesha'ra Series. Those might be a little too mature though, given the concepts within the works, so hopefully he'll enjoy some of the Middle Grade works the others suggested and not get bored by them (for Middle Grade I also recommend The Edge Chronicles).

It's basically designed so that the Opposition has an opportunity to slander the Government and the Government has a chance to talk themselves up. Also, Sanders won Utah, which is nice. Trump and Clinton won Arizona, though. I've never been to question time but I've heard it is thoroughly entertaining. I loved the Farsala Trilogy! I definitely second the Enders Game reccomendation. If he's into mystery, maybe Sherlock Holmes? 1
Blaze1616 he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I loved the Farsala Trilogy! That's because it's a hidden gem, by an unknown author who doesn't get much press. It also doesn't help that much of that trilogy is based off of Persian mythology (as well as history), which is rather understudied in many parts of the world *coughUSforsurecough* when you've got Egyptian, Greek/Roman, Japanese, and Norse mythology to choose over it (no offense Kaymyth). But yeah, Hilari Bell changed my outlook on life with those books, they were so good.
Stormgate he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 If he's a genius, he might be ready for an author I've heard about named Brandon Sanderson. 2
The Honor Spren she/her Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 The Alcatraz series, definitely. And maybe The Series of Unfortunate Events? It's not fantasy but it's cool.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Thank you! I will send all those recomendations to my aunt. After I get this bloody squirrel out of my dryer.
Quiver he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) So, I'm finally going crazy. I actually started to seriously consider spending lots of money on a huge cage for rats and buying three more rats. I already have three. Three is already more than I have hands, so six rats would be absolute madness. Help me, people. O.o Do not buy more rats.Buy turtles. The rats you already have can train them into an elite fighting force, and the seeds of your ninja army will be down. Edited March 23, 2016 by Quiver 5
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Do not buy more rats. Buy turtles. The rats you already have can train them into an elite fighting force, and the seeds of your ninja army will be down. Curiously enough, I just finished reading a short story featuring a character named the great and powerful Turtle. Clearly, this is meant to be.

Buy turtles. The rats you already have can train them into an elite fighting force, and the seeds of your ninja army will be down. You win teh internet today.
