Kyne, in case you didn't realise, I'm waiting on you to do the RP part. Hmmm, you might be asleep.

Anyways, Wonko, you too could do some RP on your side of the story about what we do when we reach the horse and four. Just remember, Marcos doesn't know who you are, what you look like, or even if you really stay at the horse and four.

Posted

You know, I just realized that Sev isn't actually at the Horse and Four right now. He ransacked his room looking for the book, then went off searching for it. Oops?

Oh, well. He certainly made plenty of noise when he left; surely someone there will be able to tell you where he went.

It seems like our characters aren't going to be meeting up anytime soon; you're going to be led on something of a chase around the campus. I guess I need to stop waiting for you to arrive and start thinking of what Sev's been up to. More on that later, when I've had some time to think.

The writeup is now up. Still working on the one from last turn, but this one is good to go. You might want to give it a read-through. Just saying.

What are we supposed to glean from this? That Mashadar and Neo died because they were on the streets? I already said that. Is there something more that I'm missing?

There's something else in there, beyond that. Just a little glimmer of something, but I'm not going to say anything beyond that. It's not really important, but it'll give you an idea of the things that are going to be revealed in the writeup and how. Some will be somewhat vague. Like this is.

Hm. The two disputants, I'd guess. So there were people arguing last round?

OH! It's about the missing sabotage! The two were standing in an unlit doorway, talking in shadows.

Hey Wilson, totally out-of-the-blue, hypothetical rules question: if two Skindancers both sent in sabotage orders, targeting different people, how would that be treated in this game?

I'm not sure if anyone realizes, but the only vote at the moment is on BB. This seems unwise, so Lopen and Mark, mostly at random. Guys, voting is a good thing! Tuition reduction and spreading the DP!

Because they were both killed by mercenaries, and the only place the rules mention mercenaries is regarding the death risk for living on the streets. Mashadar got put on the streets because he quit, and according to the site's records, Neo hasn't even been on 17th Shard since the 2nd, so he probably missed renewing his lodging.

Right. Duh. Ignore me.

"That one is a little old and cheap," said Touka, "But if that's the one you want, then go for it." Touka grinned, seeming not at all displeased at the loss of her dress.

"You can change in here," Touka said quietly. "I'll just step outside for a second." She stood there for a moment, looking unwilling to move, but then walked out.

Varda began to change into the dress. It took a while, because there were buttons in the back that she couldn't do very well without being able to see them, but she wasn't sure if it was appropriate to ask Touka for help.

While she buttoned, she looked idly around the room. Where Touka had been standing was a shelf of shiny medals. Varda looked closer, seeing that they were for martial arts. Interesting, she thought. That's a good conversation starter! We need something to make us less awkward.

She heard someone singing in the hallway. I hope that's not Touka. I have been taking a while, though... "Come in!" she called, while doing the last button on top.

As Touka entered, Varda asked, "What are these medals over here? They're beautiful." I sound like an idiot. "Beautiful?" That's the best I could come up with?

Good point; thanks for reminding us. I will put a vote on DeathClutch19, for lack of contribution. Looking over his history in other games, he usually seems to take an active hand in the game analysis. In this game, he has literally done nothing but roleplay. What are your thoughts on the situation, DC? Why are you being so reserved with your judgement this game?

I will hold my other complaint in reserve, for now, but if the vote remains concentrated, I will use it to spread it out some.

Agh, oops, I was confused. I thought cycle ended tonight. Good! More time for RP!

DC is male, by the way, Wonko. Understandable, though.

Umm im not actually very active at all so i think you might be mistaken, however i think that BridgeBoy is sus for screwing over Burnt and not posting this turn. Also i put a vote on Wonko just because he voted for me.

Touka was taken off guard as Varda asked "What are these medals over here? They're beautiful". She blushed and then said "Well, umm they're my medals for winning Martial Arts competitions. Im actually a pretty good fighter and also thank you". Touka smiled, Great now she probably thinks im manly!

Touka sat down on her bed, gesturing for Varda to sit next to her. "So tell me a little about yourself you seem like an interesting woman" she said. She was trying her best to keep conversation, which honestly wasn't her best ability. Sure she could kick your head off fairly easily, but being social, no way.

Touka picked up a bottle of water. She took a sip and then held it up toward Varda, signaling for her to take a drink. I hope im not being too weird, i think this girl is pretty cool, Touka thought as she looked at Varda and admired her long hair and pretty face.

Sorry guys. I had a family emergency. Mark, I won't be able to do an RP tonight, but I hope to be back on track tomorrow.

No problem Kyne. I'll do some goose chasing.

Elbereth, I recall it being stated that only one vote is enough for inducing tution reduction.

"We're here, I guess?" Acaelus said, eyeing the windows of the inn.

"Yup, this is it." Marcos replied. Fortunately for him, he'd seen the horse and four a few times on his way around the university. So, they hadn't been completely lost.

Walking in ,they were greeted by warm air, sweet scents and calm music. "Woah", Marcos exclaimed. "This place is good! I'd not mind spending a few minutes here."

"Perhaps we should return the book first?"

"Yeah, good point."

They approached the inn owner, and asked him whether there was a....

"Don't bother me right now. Dont you see I'm busy?" He said, clearly flustered by the flurry of orders from the various tables.

"But we just want to know where this seve....." Acaelus was again cut off by the man.

"Sev lives on the second floor. He's not here right now. Went storming off to find something." The owner said.

"No! Its not Sev, its Seventh Son of Something!" Marcos said.

"Hmmm, no such person here as far as I'm aware."

"Well, in that case, thank you." With that, they turned to leave.

On the doorstep though, Acaelus realised that, "Marcos! It is Sev we're looking for! Who would want to be called 'Seventh Son'? Instead, he shortened it to Sev!"

Excited by their discovery, the pair headed in again. Upon asking the owner, they found that Sev had headed out searching for something, and was red in the face too. The owner guessed that he may have gone back to the university.

"Let's go there then." Marcos said.

EDIT: My autocorrect has been glitching. If you find words like 'secondition' or 'storment', please ignore them.

@Maill, danosaur has posted. I'm too lazy to link his post, but his picture is of a very bright green 'danosaur'. He's posted last(?) turn.

Elbereth, could you take your vote off of me please? Pretty please?

I'll vote on PK and Araris, because I want to spread the DP's around. I'm gonna do a vote tally in just a minute to check and see how it's looking.

Edit: Vote tally:

All right, DC, I'll accept that you are probably slightly more familiar with the subject. I just skimmed over what came up when I searched for posts by you in the SE subforum, and many seemed to be you voicing opinions. I will drop the vote on DeathClutch19.

I still encourage you to both think and discuss more about the game; there's no such thing as bad discussion.

I agree on the Bridge Boy front, but at this stage my votes are better spent trying to spread the lynch more thinly. Unless a sizable portion of the village agrees to try and remove him, adding more than one vote to him is more likely than not a pointless gesture.

After Corrin had dressed, washed up and eaten breakfast, he began to wander around the University, hoping to clear his mind a little and begin anew in his search for the answers to his familys problems. I think I'll just relax today. I've been pushing myself pretty hard lately.

He'd been wandering for over an hour when he found himself at Stonebridge, the bridge that spanned about 200 feet across the Omethi River, leading to the city of Imre. "It's not every day you see a sight like this," he said to himself. I wonder who built this. It's quite impressive, he thought as he leaned over the edge to peer down into the depths of the river.

As he was standing there, enjoying the wind in his face, a wagon passed by him. "Best be careful you don't fall off now. It's a good 60 feet to the water," the old man driving the wagon called out to him, slowing his wagon just a bit in order to make sure he was heard.

"Yes sir, I'll be careful," Corrin answered. Normally he'd be insulted to be treated in such a way, but he was having a good day, and didn't want to ruin it.

"Y'know, some folks believe that spitting over the edge of the bridge will bring you good luck," the old man said, having completely stopped the wagon not far from Corrin.

"Spitting. Will bring you good luck. Hah, I wonder what fool came up with that one," Corrin chuckled at the thought of a Noble such as him doing something like that. "I thank you for the advice good sir, but I'm not one to believe in such a ridiculous notion."

"Suit yourself. Something that's not as well known about that though, is that you should spit from the north side," the old man replied. Corrin raised one eyebrow questioningly. "And why is that?" he asked. "Well you see, the wind can really gust up here, so if you spit from the south, it might just come right back and hit you," the old man said as a small grin appeared on his face and he began to get his wagon moving again.

Superstitious nonsense. Corrin thought as he watched the old man pass out of sight. Although...my luck has been awful lately. I guess it couldn't hurt. Corrin looked both ways down the road to make sure no one could see him and hurried to the north side of the bridge. He leaned over and spit. He hurriedly straightened and began the trek back to the University. What were you thinking? he thought to himself. Don't you have better things to do than chat with a stranger about such foolishness. I guess I'm just as much a fool as whoever first did that. Maybe even more of one. It's past time I get back to my studies now.

@Wonko, I'd prefer if you did an RP where you happen to see Mark carrying the book or something because I can't really think of something to get the book to you.

Acaelus walked into the Library alone. He and Marcos had decided to split up, Acaelus going to the Library and Marcos going to the reception desk and looking through the halls. They were going to meet back up outside if they found anything. It was nerve-racking leaving his new friend. It had been so long since Aldon had . . . well, it had been a long time since Acaelus had a true friend. He couldn't tell if he was making a good impression or not. If he had been obnoxious the entire time, then what if Marcos just didn't come back. He would've failed just making a friend. Something that he had wanted for so long.

At first glance, the library seemed devoid of life, even to Acaelus. Sev wasn't visible anywhere and it was only Julia who was on staff at the time. She was still archiving the old school records. Sometimes Acaelus had volunteered to do that, working at the library in his off time. That seemed like a long time ago. He hadn't had time in a long while, always conducting studies and experiments. Julia was one of the librarians who had shown him around the first time he visited the library wanting to know where everything was. Walking up to Julia, Acaelus cleared his throat and caught her attention.

"Hey Julia, have you seen a student named Sev come in here recently? I am trying to find him so that I can return his notebook."

"Acaelus, you know that we don't normally ask the names of students who come in here. Do you have his description?"

"No, unfortunately I don't. All I have is his name. He was staying at the Horse and Four, so he must be somewhat wealthy. Other than that, I have no idea how to describe him."

"Sorry then, I can't help you. I have been archiving these for a good long while, so I might have missed him. Go have a look around through the stacks."

"Thanks for the help Julia. I appreciate it."

"Anytime."

So Acaelus started walking through the rows of shelves. He passed over one hundred rows before he found someone sitting on the floor, back to the wall. He had his head in his hands and wasn't moving. He looked like the right type of person to be staying at the Horse and Four. Acaelus didn't quite know how to approach this man. He might be Sev, but he could also be just a random person going through a hard time. Acaelus walked tentatively over to the man on the floor.

"Ummm . . . sorry to intrude, but are you by any chance Sev?"

The man looked up, eyes blurry but still clear of tears. Slowly, he nodded.

"Please follow me. A friend of mine found your notebook and he should be waiting out in the courtyard."

Well done Acaelus! Bravo! We found Sev! Well, I'm about to retire to my bed, so it's up to you two to decide what happens next. Feel free to use my character within reasonable limits.
