TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 No-Maj reminds me of Noradz, from Deltora Quest. Thought you ought to know. *collapses* Hadn't heard about Deltora Quest. :/ Oh great Noodly One. What if Rowling hated my letter and wrote me in person just to say so?
Delightful Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Hadn't heard about Deltora Quest. :/ Oh great Noodly One. What if Rowling hated my letter and wrote me in person just to say so? If she hated it she would have chucked it out and you'd never have heard from her. My guess is the letter is a standard type "thanks for the letter you're a great fan". I hope it's much more than that though And and that tumblr post. The ghosts. NOOOOOO I'm like crying. All of it. I honestly haven't picked up a Harry Potter book in years but but but that hurt . . And it was beautiful.

I'm preparing myself for a standard letter, but I honestly wasn't expecting to get a reply at all. I made the mistake of looking at that list first thing in the morning.
Young Bard he/him Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Have you finished your shift yet, Twi? What was it? An automatically sent letter, or a personalized one?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Have you finished your shift yet, Twi? What was it? An automatically sent letter, or a personalized one? It was a form letter--thank you for sending it, she doesn't have time to respond to every letter, etc. Though it's probably for the best. I said some pretty unkind things about my parents in that letter, and my brother would've wanted to read a personalized reply.

How fast can he produce RAFO Cards? He might need a printing press laid aside specially... Edited February 19, 2016 by The Young Bard 1

He might need a printing press laid aside specially... "Aw, all I got for my fan letter was a RAFO card." "Really? I got a RAFO card with a trollface on it." "Dude! That's collectable!" 3

Or did they skip it because it was too close to the BoM newsletter? (Or is it just late...) Edited February 19, 2016 by The Young Bard 1
Kobold King he/him Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Somebody running for office here in rural Texas has the most rural Texan campaign slogan I've ever heard. "Vote so-and-so. He loves the troops. He loves guns. He loves God." ... Not kidding. 2

"Vote so-and-so. He loves the troops. He loves guns. He loves God." ... Not kidding. Wow. Kind of reminds me of this chain letter going around shortly after the US declared war on Iraq (great Noodly One, that was a long time ago) about the Redneck Special Forces. Only thing is, that was a joke and everyone who got that email knew it. 1
Young Bard he/him Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) That sounds an awful lot like Ted Cruz actually... He's even a Tex. You have OK Republican candidates, you have rubbish Republican candidates, and then you have Cruz, Trump and Rubio. (Apologies to Trump, Cruz or Rubio supporters.) Honestly, I never thought I'd see the day when Jeb Bush was the reasonable Republican candidate. Edited February 20, 2016 by The Young Bard
Orlion Blight he/him Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Honestly, I never thought I'd see the day when Jeb Bush was the reasonable Republican candidate. I'd argue that you still haven't 2

Young Bard he/him Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) I have several reasons not to like Rubio and Cruz. As a pro-gun control, pro gay marriage, pro human rights, and someone who is extremely concerned about climate change (and all-round Sanders fan) Rubio and Cruz are very unpopular with me. Because I don't want to start a flame war about it, feel free to PM me about it or ask me in my AMA. Also, I only just realized how similar 'Sanders fan' and 'Sanderfan' sound. *cue dramatic music*. I have now. I knew about some of what was said there, but other parts completely blew me away. That's... just wrong. On a related note, this is awesome. Whoever thought of it was a genius. It's still in beta at the moment, but I look forward to seeing great things from it when it starts up in the future.

Delightful Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Well, this doesn't quite relate, but there's a guy running for District Judge around here whose name is Jay Walker. Not kidding. You know you live in Oklahoma when you read that as "Oklahoma Republican candidates." I like Rubio and Cruz. Trump is. No. He should lie in the ground and bake bagels (thank you, Reader's Digest, for an amazing Yiddish insult). Yiddish expressions are the best . 1
Quiver he/him Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Does anyone know a good support group? I was trying to see if the local toy store sold Pathfinder (nope), happened to see a Transformers toy* and though 'huh, that looks cool'. Then I spent ten minutes looking around the shop for enough deluxe figures to form Superion. I'm pretty sure the only reason I'm not fiddling with toy bits at the moment is because I didn't have enough money to pick them up, but still. The last time I picked up a Transformers toy as "Just this one, it's cool looking", I ended up dumping a lot of money into a bunch of display pieces. Help. *A Combiner Wars Voyager-class Silverbolt, if you're curious.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Does anyone know a good support group? The bad day thread?
Quiver he/him Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) The bad day thread? Well, I'm being snarky rather than having a genuinely bad day. And.. I have, for the first time ever, reached my upvote quota. I SEE THINGS, BUT I CAN'T UPVOTE THEM. WHAT IS THIS NEW FORM OF MADNESS. Edited February 20, 2016 by Quiver
