Kaymyth she/her Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Windows 10 is actually pretty good. The only major gripe I have is that the battery life shortened significantly after I updated. (Also, no Guest Account, which is weird, but not really a problem for me, seeing as it's only applicable once every few months anyway.) Setting aside the privacy issues (which are my main problem with the OS), it's Windows. Linux is far superior. I've told my husband, "If you were a pony, your cutie mark would be Tux." He just gave me a pained look. Probably at me picturing him as a pony. And yet whenever I pull MLP up on Netflix, he is overtaken by a strange desire to sit down on the couch next to me... 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I think I just got the most ridiculous call ever. A local woman was calling to ask if a problem her son is having with his car is common. Her son lives in Los Angeles. So not only is she calling a dealership whose service department is closed to ask a question for someone who lives eight hours away, but she then asked if I had any numbers for dealerships in LA. When I said no, she said she'd call back on Monday. Here's what I should have said: "No, I don't have any numbers for dealerships in LA, but there's this magical wizard named Google who will give you all the numbers you want if you only say the right words. You should ask him."
DreamEternal Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Not being opposed to watching ponies does not mean not being opposed to ponification of everything, Kaymyth :/. Or I think so. Maybe. I've never watched it, despite my curiosity. Can't give my brother more weapons against me. Edited February 13, 2016 by DreamEternal
Zathoth Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I watched Deadpool. It was ~AWESOME~ If I could have made that text sparkle I would. And happy "People making less sense than usual" day tomorrow. It is also 13 days to my birthday. I feel like that may explain some things, or maybe it doesnt. 1

Yeah, people are just going to have to accept that Deadpool is the best superhero movie this year. I'm sorry, these are just facts.

I feel like that may explain some things, or maybe it doesnt. Agreed. Just got home from seeing it. I have never laughed so hard at a movie. I laughed until I cried. To those of you who are under 18: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But you really shouldn't watch this movie until you're older. 2

Kaymyth she/her Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 When you realize you're not only over 18, but eight years past that milestone: Hee. I'm pretty sure that just contemplating seeing this movie qualifies as full-on rebellion for you. I will spoil nothing, but I will say that this movie was the closest in spirit to its source comics of any comic-based move ever.
DreamEternal Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 OK, we need an "I am making a silly joke" font on this forum. I knew you were being silly. It is just that I sounded dead serious by accident, then forgot I wasn't supposed to be serious. I am weird *_*.

My mom and brother have both read reviews on the content, and my mom has decided she's not going to see it, but….I think I still will.

My mom and brother have both read reviews on the content, and my mom has decided she's not going to see it, but….I think I still will. You should. That much laughing will definitely take down your stress levels. So you should see it for the good of your health.

Kaymyth she/her Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I could definitely use that. I keep having to remind myself that there's nothing I can do here, all I can do is wait. Just watch the whole thing, from the very start of the opening credits to the stinger at the end. There are jokes everywhere.

The flashback still managed to be touching and horrifying as well, even with Deadpool breaking the fourth wall. It was a fantastic movie. I mean, I read manga way worse than Deadpool when I was 16, but you see how I ended up...

Kobold King he/him Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I don't know what's sadder. That Batman thinks his habit of dressing as a bat and pummeling criminals with his bare hands is perfectly reasonable, or the fact that he's probably genuinely the most reasonable man in Gotham City. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Season 3 of Hemlock Grove: only three eps in, but it continues to be every bit as mind-bruisingly weird and terrible as the first two seasons. If I didn't have cosplay scale mail to work on, I probably wouldn't be watching it, but I do, so I am. And I kind of adore Shelley, so there's that.
