Delightful Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Is trump conservative? Twi I feel you. I once found myself watching some clip of him talking (why I'm not even sure) and like the Sadeas viewpoint that features him falling off a horse, this speech was redeemed by the ridiculousness of Trumps phrase "winning bigly". Yes. Bigly. This is the man running for president, America. *crawls into a secret pillow room with pugs and cookies*
Kestrel she/her Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Me @ trump Your campaign was mildly amusing satire at first. Now it is scary. Please crawl back to whatever hole you came from. Thank. Also has anyone noticed he looks like a bird. A very angry bird. 4

If he doesn't get the Republican nomination, he might change his stance again to run on a different ticket. The man's a chameleon, only without the charm.
ThirdGen Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Was this the same cool whip that was more alcoholic than anyone bargained for? I still need to try mead. And sake. Mmm. Just went out to pre-Valentine's sushi and sake with my girlfriend. Sake is smooooooooth.

Delightful Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Anyone else know about this? http://www.ayoungscores.com/ What....is it exactly?
+Slowswift Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Owl City, composing his own mini film scores.
Silverblade5 he/him Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Pinkie-swear. Accidental downvote

The man's a chameleon, only without the charm. If he changes parties he won't win. It'll be a stupid thing to do... which is why he totally should do it.
Delightful Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 If he changes parties he won't win. It'll be a stupid thing to do... which is why he totally should do it.He isn't like registered with a particular party?
ThirdGen Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 He could always break off and run as an independent. If he wanted to switch to another party's ticket, that party would have to be one that allowed him in (I dunno, the Constitution Party or something).
The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I'm not old enough to vote, but my parents are considering joining the Republican Party, just so they can vote against Trump. I would support their decision.
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) You kidding? Every time that discount toupee with a face appears in public I'm tempted to grab a beer. Aha! Finally a difference between us! I detest beer. Is trump conservative? Trump is a narcissist who has hit upon a magic word salad that appeals to a certain subset of disillusioned conservatives. He could always break off and run as an independent. If he wanted to switch to another party's ticket, that party would have to be one that allowed him in (I dunno, the Constitution Party or something). There's also the ever-looming possibility that he could win the majority of primary delegates and the Republican party rebels against the electorate and nominates somebody else. Then he'd almost certainly run as an independent in his fury. Edited February 11, 2016 by Kaymyth
Mistrunner Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) I'm not either.Let's start an uninteresting Sharders' club. Is trump conservative? Twi I feel you. He does his own thing. And it isn't good either. Right now I'm hoping for Rubio. Cruz I agree with more, but I think Rubio has a better shot at actually winning. Anyone else know about this? http://www.ayoungscores.com/ This is what we call fabulousness. Edit: Aaaand it keeps getting better and better. Give this man a contract. If only it didn't cost $40
Mistrunner Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I know this was meant as a joke, but now I really want to do that. . . . I'm... very okay with this. We can PM each other about just how many grapes we ate or the ridiculous prices of milk. All of its just so good! I want to buy it and I want the poster too! TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Whelp, it's happening. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I and II, is being released in book form on July 31. This could either be extremely good news for the Potter fandom—or else very, very bad news. It's either going to be spectacular or dreadful. I'm….tempted to preorder, but I'm thinking I'll just wait until there are some actual reviews posted to decide whether or not to buy it.

I can't believe I just did that. I've heard of Owl City, but I haven't listened to any of their songs except Fireflies, which I'm assuming doesn't count. I'll listen to them if you'll listen to Of Monsters and Men

And a reply to your thread. Owl City is Adam Young, AKA person who wrote that amazing score. Amazingly talented guy. I'd suggest somewhere to start, but I don't even know. Ocean Eyes, his first album, is really good, but so are the others... and then there's a few random ones that were in movies and stuff that are good, like "When Can I See You Again" and "To the Sky"... Anyway. I'll go look up Of Monsters and Men. Edit: Okay, that's... really, really good. Yet another band to follow! YAAAAAY! Edited February 11, 2016 by Mistrunner

I heard that it's 19 years after DH ended I'm just wondering if that's epilogue time or 19 years after the epilogue.

Then he'd almost certainly run as an independent in his fury. In this age of voter distrust, the GOP would be insane to even consider the possibility of going against the electorate. I mean, Paalm insane. No, Hoed insane.

I heard that it's 19 years after DH ended I'm just wondering if that's epilogue time or 19 years after the epilogue. Nineteen years after DH ended. From Goodreads: It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places. So, it sounds promising…..but so did Go Set a Watchman, and look how that turned out. Edited February 11, 2016 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles
Silverblade5 he/him Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 So I just punched a dent in the wall over something very inconsequential. How have your nights been?
Delightful Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 What's Go Set a Watchman? Silverblade, I had one of those days yesterday. It sucks.
Young Bard he/him Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 Go Set a Watchman: the To Kill a Mockingbird sequel. My dad ( a huge TKaM fan) described it as 'a piece of trash that should never have been published, designed to generate a little cash to fill the publishers pockets. He isn't like registered with a particular party? WARNING: MASSIVE POLITICAL NERDINESS AHEAD (the answers in the first 2 paragraphs, and then I basically jabbered about how strange the American political system is. Stop reading anytime unless you're a politics fan, or want to be one.) As an Australian who has studied American politics: The American system is weird. In Australia, a politician is a member of a particular party for more or less life, slowly working your way up through the hierarchy. (It's big news if they don't. Americans, if you don't believe me, look up "Jackie Lambie quits Palmer United Party." It was headline news. In America, you don't get that. The leaders tend to join shortly before an electoral race which is the only thing that they really need to do (well, being famous and having a lot of money is generally another expectation. Raegan was a movie star, etc.) So, Trump had his own minor Trump Party before the Republican Race, and Sanders was an independent. Clinton was a Democrat, but only because she was Secretary of State under the Obama administration. From there, it's all about media spectacle. People need to know who you are, what you stand for, and why they should vote for you. Voting is voluntary in America, so they really need to have their attention grabbed to get votes in, and a man in a suit talking meekly isn't going to do that. Hence, the yelling/screaming/publicity stunts that you have on American television. If you don't do that, no one will know who you are, and no one will vote for you. (This happened to O'Malley, the third Democrat candidate this time round.) The actual voting is quite roundabout too. (This may just be for the presidency itself, but I think it's for the primaries as well.) People vote for a delegate to represent them to cast their vote in favor of the majority of the people. This has the strange effect of making voting absolutely crucial on tight seats, because all the votes cast will go to the same candidate, no matter which side they actually supported. Hypothetical to explain: There are 10 million people in New York. 5,000,001 vote for Sanders, and 4,999,999 vote for Trump. But, the delegate, seeing the majority, will vote for Sanders as the representative for New York. And then all 10,000,000 votes will go to Sanders, and none for Trump. (For more detail I'd recommend looking up the Al Gore - Bush Florida miscount.) Does that answer your question (and give an accurate retelling of the chronicles of War and Peace)? 1
