The mother of long-time friend died in a car accident. And I don't even know if I'll be allowed to take some hours off, to attend the funeral.

I’m sorry. A friend of my mom died recently who I didn’t know, but that’s always horrible. Dunno what to say, but...

have a hug.

Thank you.

No words needed, I don't even know what to say myself. This simply hit me straight in the face.

Mortality is scary.

My friend is on another continent right now, same as her sister. Their father died years ago. Both of them moved out of our village a few years ago, but their mother stayed here and I still met her regularly and we talked for a while since she lived not even a minute away from me. I already called my friend, offered help, but right now they are trying to get some flights to take them back.

And yes it is. Especially if you can't prepare for it.

drown

the world is an ocean
and i am
swimming.
except.
i am drowning.

they ask why i can’t
swim.
i tell them i can.
except.
i am drowning.

they help me.
i can finally
breathe.
i am swimming.

then they leave.

i watch them
go.
they know i will be
fine. i told them
so.

except.
i am drowning.

Hey, thanks guys. I kinda wrote it in like ten minutes after having a mini panic attack while in the shower, so I’m glad you like it!

This is more frustrating than anything.

Yesterday me and my mom were waiting for our magicbands for Disney World to arrive, she got the mailing alert that they were on the way, and I kept checking nearly every hour until about 8 or 9 at night, having to throw a jacket on every time since it's about 30-40 outside at night, with no delivery coming. I checked again this morning around 9 and there was an envelope but no box with our bands. My mom decided to drive down to the post office and get it right from them.

For reference this post office is incompetent and treats any inconvenience and complaint as a joke so when my mom got the box they tried to joke that she should try for the lottery since 'it was her lucky day' and the box was right on top of the other boxes in the back.

This isn't the first frustration we've had with the post office since there are days where we don't get any mail delivered until 10PM (they claim we live on an unusual street. I don't think a street connecting to the main road is that unusual and the street is relatively short but here's the worst part, the older section gets their mail very early in the afternoon, starting as early as 1, followed by the side across from us. Then the mailman goes elsewhere for a while before getting to our side of the street late at night), a couple years back had our mail held on account of vacation and for whatever reason they delivered one package of candy and gift cards from my sister and it got soaked from rain so we had to trash the candy inside and they treated it like it was no big deal and lastly we've gone in to mail packages and they act like we're inconveniencing them.

And yet they always say they're understaffed. Gee, I wonder why with the idiots currently running the joint.

Mail people are annoying. Someone ought to improve the business.

Have fun in Disney though.

Oh jeez, I get how you feel. The post office back in Louisiana was legendarily terrible. I once waited in my apartment all morning for the delivery person to knock at my door, since I needed the package that was coming that day. I waited….and waited….and eventually went down to my mailbox, where I found a pickup slip saying they'd "attempted delivery" but found no one was home. I was steamed, but there was nothing I could do. Government employees and all that.

My bad day: I live in the basement unit of an older house. I share a ventilation system with the upstairs neighbor, and there's not a lot of insulation between floors. I thought this was fine…until I realized she likes to walk around the kitchen at two in the morning and fill her apartment with scents (can't tell if they're chemical or essential oils) that make my allergies act up. I left her a note about the kitchen noises a few weeks ago and thought it was over, but it's started up again. Earplugs don't drown everything out, but I'm buying more anyway because they help to an extent. Nothing to do about the smells without coming across as a neighbor from Braize. My lease isn't up for another couple of months, but I'm going to look for another place as soon as I can get my deposit back. Just hoping I can find one that doesn't cost too much more each month, because I really don't want to go to the top of my rent budget with my next place.

On vacation and had to put this down.

Last night I rode the VR coaster at Legoland Florida and one of the employees broke my brand new glasses. I sat down in the vehicle, adjusting to a comfortable level to accommodate my glasses and was ready to put the headset down when one of the employees shoved it on and cranked the adjustable dial until I heard a crack from my glasses. I quickly started to loosen it but the ride had started just after so I didn't see the damage until the ride was over. Pretty much the left lenses had been popped out of the frames, these are a half frame type, but I did manage to pop it back in but now I'm going to have to get to a Walmart vision center to get them readjusted and make sure it's a fixable solution while I'm out here otherwise me and my mom are going to have to rush getting back to the house in a couple days.

Oh and for those wondering why the park isn't footing the bill? They have a no responsibility policy where guests personal belongings are concerned.

I've been going back and forth on whether or not I'd post anything here. I've had a really terrible couple of weeks, but I also don't think I really want to talk about it much. I don't know, my heads in a bit of a mess these days. Not sure what I'm trying to do by posting here. Maybe just talking for the sake of talking.

Anyway I apologize for my incoherent ramblings.
Life is terrible and gives you no good options.

I suffer from anxiety/depression, and i can tell you, 99.99% of the time there is a brightside to everything.

Look for it. sometimes its not easy to find and it might not seem like a good brightside, but it exists. Helps me fight the fight to look forward to something.

I appreciate the attempt but this unfortunately isn't one of those times.

I'm doing ok, going to take a while but I'll get there eventually.
