Skeleton Crew with my friend - I'm enjoying it a lot so far! It gives me Goonies/Home Alone/Stranger Things vibes, but without the horror elements so far. (I refuse to mention E.T. here because I hate E.T. It was my least favorite movie until I saw the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie.) My friend unfortunately doesn't really like the cast. Partially because he's in the mood for grimdark because he's been reading Berserk, partially because he's annoyed with kids being kids. (We're both teachers, so it's incredibly understandable.)

High Potential with my mom - If you want a nice "Consulting Detective" show and you've watched everything three times over, give this one a try! It's shiny and a little too clean, but the imagination spots are pretty fun, and the cast is likeable.

On YouTube, I've been watching so many Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War LPs and LTC (Low-Turn Count) runs that there's a chance I'll be burnt out on the game before the remake is even announced! (And I do believe it WILL be announced.)

Finally finished Arcane season two after procrastinating the finale for several weeks . . .

I really liked it! I thought it was good, and had some pretty iconic moments. That said, I don't think it was as good as the first season. The first season was a genuine masterpiece, and while the second was pretty good and a fun watch, I feel like it lacked a lot of the depth and 'tightness' that I'd expected. I'm not going to be one of those people who insist it's horrible and a complete disappointment, it just went from being a show where every scene in every episode is amazing, to a show where one scene in every episode is amazing.

I agree with the sentiment that it felt rushed, the writers needed another season to figure things out, and some plot points were clear retconns just to get all the loose ends to fit together in time. I've heard a lot of people say that it was rushed because Riot wants to move on to other projects and shows for Runeterra, and they plan on building an MCU-ish franchise. I don't know how true that is, but if it is, then it makes a lot of sense. It's a shame, because that first season really was something.

I still really liked it thought, it was a fun watch with good music and perfect visual if nothing else. Hopefully future projects from Riot and Fortiche have more time to cook in the oven, so to speak.

Watched Legend of the Eight Samurai.

It was a great watch. Very fun, interesting practical effects, good action, and pretty amazing visuals. Some of those shots I wouldn't mind hanging on a frame.

Not a whole lot of character development but that was expected. There's only so much you can do with such a large cast in only 2 hours.

Speaking of 2 hours though, a lot happens during them. It's a fast paced movie and it makes great use of its runtime. It feels a lot longer than that and I mean that in the best way possible. Enjoyed every minute.

I'm starting to notice a bit of a depressing pattern in samurai movies though. In my extensive experience spanning a whole 2 movies, these stories seem to follow the philosophy that in order for one set of characters to achieve happiness, another has to completely give up any chance of getting their own. Not enough happy endings for everyone who deserves them so we gotta pick winners.

Idk, hopefully I just happened to watch the outliers, but now I'll have to be wary next time I see a samurai movie.

My friend and I finished Skeleton Crew and are now onto Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! We really like it, two episodes in. I'm not sure if I want Nico and Peter to stay as friends or develop into something more, but I'm adoring what they got right now. I just want Peter to end up with someone that's NOT named Gwen or MJ for once...I'd take Silk!

After we blitz through Spider-Man, we're going to watch Wheel of Time Season 3 until Andor comes out. (And we'll probably take a break in-between Andor to watch Visions or whatever the animated show for Star Wars Day will be.)

Watched the first episode of Rock is a Lady's Modesty, and it was great. I can't believe Akane and Kanami from Band-Maid get a full part in a show via their instruments. It's gonna be one of my main shows this season for sure.

Watching Chasing Mavericks. Not sure how much y'all will like it, but give it a try. Absolute cinematic and storytelling masterpiece.

Really hoping that trash called Wheel of Prime gets the axe finally. I'd like to think i still have a shot before I die to get a faithful adaptation of WoT that doesn't insert nonsense into whatever original content needs to be added for tv. Idc if it's live action or animated.

Rafe's abomination needs to be buried and never talked about again.

As I am finally watching it now, I can safely say. It's not that bad.

I haven't seen Season 3 yet, but I don't think it's that bad either. There are some changes I can do without (mostly the semi-love triangle in Season 1), but the rest are solid changes IMO. Knowing some of the behind-the-scenes stuff going on thanks to several of Brandon's interviews and talks, having read the series (minus A New Spring), and having gone through Season 1 with my mom and sister (who hadn't read the books) while simultaneously watching with friends who haven't read the books, I can see why a lot of changes were made.

I'm also not a die-hard fan of WoT, despite breezing through the series within about two months (while also attending Post-Bach classes), so maybe I'm not the best judge.

Anyways, I'm slowly working through Watson M.D. with my parents, and I'm really enjoying it!

I also saw The Accountant (2016) with my parents, and I just finished up the television movie adaptation of King Lear (2018) tonight, and I LOVED IT.

I’ve been watching a lot of Star Wars Theory, he’s just super real and fun.

Has his reputation changed in the past few years? I remember him being not very positive or well-liked in the SW fandom circles I was in way back when.
