Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) 4) Maill is spiked- This one would fit quite nicely, IMO because Maill is manipulating El into voting for HS who is voting for Wyrm. This casts little light on him, while 2 other villagers are forced into the Spotlight of Scrutiny. Later, when El withdrew her vote, Maill followe'd suit, and this also fits quite nicely with the theory. (This is just IMO though. Voice your thought if you concur or if you disagree.) When did El remove her vote? And how did I manipulate her?Edit: And, since two new people posted, here it is: Hellscythe was checked by a Seeker and is good. I'm currently a proxy for a proxy. I wanted to see who would follow my lead and how votes would follow. So, now vote as you will. Edited January 10, 2016 by Mailliw73
Mark IV he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Oops! My fault. El didn't remove her vote. You manipulated her via PMs, the way I see it atleast.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Whoops, I edited my post with the reveal. I just told her my views on the situation and she agreed.
Mark IV he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Still, I'm not quite convinced of your story. I'll be keeping my vote there.
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 HS. I don't know who to vote for now, so I'll refrain.
Elbereth she/her Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Whoops, I edited my post with the reveal. I just told her my views on the situation and she agreed.Indeed. If he was manipulating me, it was manipulation to do something I wanted to do (which is just the easiest kind of manipulation, of course). He brought up a good point (which I posted in my original reasoning), and so I voted for HS. Also. I had just made up my mind that I would continue to vote for HS. He's been almost-lynched enough for a good stack of information, and he's been almost-lynched enough that I want to just find out his alignment and be done with it. And now Mail's reveal. I'm inclined to lynch him anyway (test the Seeker, and still get information from it), but I'll have to think on it. Edited in quote for clarification. Edited January 10, 2016 by Elbereth
Hellscythe he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Well I posted before I left for school expecting some seeker action after all that prodding. All I got were a bunch of votes and people talking about how killing a Spiked is a bad idea. However, nobody is agreeing or disagreeing that Wyrm is in fact a Spiked. Which is why, Hero, I won't wait until "Cycle 9 or 10" to attempt to lynch Wyrm. Because by then I might not be there. And if I'm not there, I don't see anyone else leading the charge against Wyrm. That being said, instead of lynching a villager can we get a lynch on someone who hasn't posted since their signup or something? (or Wyrm I'm always ok with Wyrm)
Elbereth she/her Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 That being said, instead of lynching a villager can we get a lynch on someone who hasn't posted since their signup or something? (or Wyrm I'm always ok with Wyrm)This is normally where at least someone would say "Let the Coinshots deal with it!" Unfortunately, since Meta has seen fit to deprive us of kill roles, we can't just leave it.We can either leave all inactives alone for the moment, or do a couple of inactive lynches here and there. I don't like either option, though, for fairly obvious reasons. I think I'm inclined toward occasional inactive lynches (and yes, I know that's suspect, but I think it's the best option), as long as we make sure it's not every cycle. I guess. Hmph.
Hellscythe he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Well then, between the time left and current votes, we're going to have to do this now. I think Jain has been the most inactive of all of the inactives. I could be wrong though. I don't have time to research these things. Wyrmhero Lightsworn Panda
Haelbarde he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Vote Tally Hellscythe(3): Elbereth, Luckat, Hael Jain(2): Hellscythe, Mail Hero(1): Wyrm Mail(1): Mark IV Tally (with history): Wyrm(0): Hellscythe{1} Hellscythe(3): Elbereth, Mail{1}, Luckat, Mashadar{1}, Hael Hero(1): Wyrm Mail(1): Mark IV Alv(0): Mail{2} Jain(2): Hellscythe{2}, Mail{3} Any mistakes? Also, as far as I can tell, these are the less active players: Elkanah- Last post was on the 5th. Been active on the shard otherwise. Phattemer- Hasn't posted in the AG since Jan 4, but is on the shard (in fact, is about to run QF12)Lightsworn Panda- Last post was the 6th, expressing surprise that he was still alive. Previous post 29th Dec. Last online on the 8th. Alvron- Last AG post on the 6th, been online todayWeiryWriter- Actively posting elsewhere on the Shard, last post in AG on the 1st.Ripplegylf- Last post in the AG was the 1st. Been active and posting elsewhere on the Shard Bort- Not posted in the AG since the game started, hasn't been on since Jan 5 Creccio- Last Post: Dec 28, and hasn't been online. I did start compiling this the other day, so it might be slightly out of date. Bort and Creccio look to be the only two truly inactives, with the others on this list having at least be on the shard, in some cases still posting. Not decided if Sart should be on the list of inactives (he's not in it currently), but it is a list of (semi) inactives. I'd be willing to lynch someone on that list, like HS suggested, or maybe I'd put a vote on Hero, but I'm loathe to have another tied lynch, so I'm going to put my vote on Hellscythe. I know I've been quite suspicious of Wyrm in the past, and maybe that paranoia hasn't left entirely, but it's not at a place where I'd confidently lynch him. Not just yet anyway. And I think that the loss of PM's completely would hurt the village more than it would the eliminators, so I'm also unwilling to lynch what seems to be our only remaining tineye on the off chance he's Spiked. I would do so if we'd already taken down 3-4 Spiked, but we've only had one so far. Now, while I disagree with you, and find you slightly suspicious, I'm not so dead set that I'm not willing to shift my vote. I could be convinced to shift it to an inactive, if enough votes were placed on them. Edit: Sigh, ninja'd twice... And while you've gone and put two votes on Jain, tbh, I think I'll still keep my vote on you HS, unless doing so causes a tie. Edited January 10, 2016 by Haelbarde 1
luckat she/her Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I think this seeker claim is fishy, honestly. A proxy for a proxy sounds like a way to redirect the blame if things go wrong. Why not have someone the Seeker has scanned come forward? Protection for the scanned, I suppose. The thing is, Hellscythe’s posts earlier don't sound like someone who was scanned. They sound more like someone frustrated they don’t know anything about the Seeker. Why not bring this up earlier? I can see wanting to see what people do without the knowledge, although that isn’t as helpful if you don’t even know the Seeker can be trusted, but why wait until the last couple hours of the cycle, when most people can’t even give their input on the matter? It doesn’t seem like there’s other people in this Seeker’s trusted group who are trying to save HS.Maybe it's the truth. Maybe this Seeker is Spiked. Maybe this is something Maill made up to save HS.Honestly, to me this whole thing sounds more like a last ditch effort by Maill to save HS than anything else. We’re not going to find out which it is if we just switch the lynch to an inactive or a tie, although I suppose that would give us more time to figure out the truth. It would also give the Spiked more time to kill us while we don’t accomplish anything. This whole thing is making me confused, and I'd like some concrete information. 1
Metacognition he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 I've been incredibly busy today guys, so I haven't had time to do much of anything here yet. As such, the Day has ended and I'll get the pertinent details up ASAP. Then I'll try to get the write up done a little later on. Sorry. Please bear with me! 1
Metacognition he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Night 6: Ghostbusters*Note: Special thanks to Elbereth with this one! I started it, but didn't have time to finish it and the night write up, so she helped finish it for me. I think it turned out pretty well in that right! There was something strange going on in Hellscythe’s little neighborhood. Yes, it was definitely something weird and it didn’t look very good to him at all. The fact that his body still hadn’t healed the wound in his shoulder was proof of that. You’d think that any violence inflicted towards a ghost would just pass right on through, but that hadn’t been the case this time. The Spiked were obviously very dangerous indeed if they were capable of stabbing an ethereal being such as himself. He found himself as vulnerable as the rest of the fleshy humans in town and he didn’t like it.He hadn’t felt like this in years. Not since before he became a ghost. It had been a slow process, unlike those people who became ghosts via murder. It had started with him realizing that he could create a spectral cloud around him. It seemed to make him less visible, wispy in a way, to certain allomancers. In exchange, it dulled his human emotions. Hellscythe didn’t mind the trade off. Later on, he learned that, evidently, ghosts can get energy out of certain metals, copper specifically and soon enough, he was capable of using his spectral cloud all the time.It was around him now, of course. It always was anymore. He wandered through the streets, occasionally saying “OooOooOoo” as spookily as he could manage. It was his job, after all.A window banged open. Did I do that? Maybe the rest of my ghostly powers are finally coming! But when he looked up at the window, it was only Maill, the cobbler.“I want to get some sleep!” he shouted irritably. “Just shut up already, will you?” “I bear the chains I forged in life!” shouted Hellscythe. He didn’t know exactly what that meant, but it sounded suitably ghostlike.Another head poked out a window on the same building. “I’m trying to write,” yelled Edrab Leah. “Will you two SHUT UP? This is the third night in a week that you’ve interrupted me, Hellscythe. Are you trying to make me murder you?”Lu emerged from another building. “What’s going on?” she asked inquisitively, before she saw Hellscythe. Without another word, she walked back into her house and firmly closed the door. With nothing else to say, Hellscythe went back to his “OooOooOoo”s.More and more voices emerged from the darkness, all up and down the street. Hellscythe didn’t mind. Ghosts weren’t supposed to cause happiness, after all. And what could they do, anyway? Kill him again? He chuckled at the idea. Then there was an unexpected pain in his neck. He touched it to feel-- A pen? It was a pen, one of Edrab’s. A sharpened pen had sent him to a second death. How embarassing. Well, at least I have finally completed the final stage. Hellscythe thought as he rose into the air, leaving the remains of his body behind. He pulled out a little book called “A Handbook for the Recently Deceased.” He checked off the last box in the list provided and started reading. Night 6 begins! You have 24 hours until the end of the turn. Hellscythe was a Village Smoker! Alvron Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 And that's the third soother down. I believe you mean Smoker. Also, sorry for my absence in threads. I've been putting the finishing touches on my game and it has taken up more time than I would've liked. I have however been keeping up so I will be good to go once the day dawns once more.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Lurchers, if I could request protection from one of you, that'd be great.
Wyrmhero he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I would like to point out that this makes three Village Smokers dead, which potentially tells us something. Regardless of whether or not there are any more Smokers, and whether any extras are Eliminators or not, it's important to note that three Village Smokers hints towards the Eliminators having more than one of a Soother, a Rioter and a Seeker (ignoring the possibility of Mistborn too). Also worth noting, Mark appears to be trying to point out his innocence here by pointing out how he didn't vote for a Villager. He's very much still on my suspicion list, but I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt. It has to run out at some point though...
WeiryWriter he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 So I would like to apologize for being so absent for the last few cycles. Work started up again and I've had various projects that I've needed to make progress on so I just haven't had the time/mental fortitude to give this game the attention it deserves. And unfortunately I don't see that changing soon, so I'm just going to officially say that I'm inactive and if you feel like you need to kill me I won't hold it against you. Go Villagers!
Mark IV he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I'm not saying I'm innocent. I'm just saying that HS was innocent. I could also have been an eliminator who knew everyone's alignment, therefore having a guarantee that HS was innocent. The point I was trying to make was simply that you shouldn't have lynched HS. Apparently, this never got posted. It was supposed to go up 12 hours ago.
Elbereth she/her Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 QuicklinksOkay, so vote shenanigans: Hellscythe(3): Elbereth, Luckat, Hael Jain(2): Hellscythe, Mail Hero(1): Wyrm Mail(1): Mark IV Elbereth and Hellscythe's votes are both absent. So... thanks?
Metacognition he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Write up for this turn is up! As it says, a very big thank you to Elbereth for the help with this one. I'm working on tonight's as we speak. It might be a little behind, but I'll be back on track now! Thanks for working with me guys.
Metacognition he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Day 6: King of Hearts*Note: This would be a bit odd sounding if I did thing the usual way, so we’re going about this a little differently. Wyrm’s message is an RP of his character, so we’ll start with that as the beginning of the write up and I’ll build off of it to finish things up. Hopefully that clears things up."I have had it with this blasted and forsaken town," The Amazing Wyrm muttered as he paced up and down in front of his cart. The mule looked at him briefly with disinterested eyes before lowering its head again to the ground to continue eating the bitter grass. "I've never stayed in one place as long as this, I need to move. Inquisitors could already be on my trail. Ha, that would be something, wouldn't it?" He asked the donkey. "They're so worried about these people with metal jabbed into them, imagine how they'd react if they saw one of those guys."He sighed and leaned against the side of his cart, hand going to his face and sliding down as he groaned. "But I can't leave, not like this. I don't even know where those Koloss are meant to be, I could be just headed straight at them. And I probably can't outpace them like this, not with the cart and mule..."The mule in question gave him a look. "Don't look at me like that, you know it's true! I'm not going to bloody well die with you, you selfish and dumb animal." The look continued. "Well, if you want to live, you go and find these blasted Spiked!" He looked away and muttered to himself. "Honestly, some people. Animals. Whatever.""So, if I have to stop this plot before I can leave safely..." he sighed. "Well, that doesn't help. You'd think more than half the people would care about the safety of their own village, but oh no, The Amazing Wyrm has to be even more amazing than usual and save their hides! Hell, at this rate we might as well just send the useless half out to slow the Koloss down..."He looked back over to the donkey. "You know, when I was lucky enough to stumble across my parents being killed by the Inquisition and escape them, I never thought my life would end up like this. I mean, sure, I've kept out of their clutches for far longer than I should have by all rights, but my life ending in the middle of nowhere because of an army of Koloss? Didn't expect that at all..."He stayed there for a few moments, watching the stars beyond the mist, a sight that, as far as he knew, only one other in this town had seen. And now, it was just him, alone again but for a dumb pack animal. He shivered involuntarily at the thought, and again as the wind picked up, the biting cold even worse to his enhanced senses. He shrugged his coat around him tighter, and headed into his cart to sleep. His cart was stocked up of every kind of magical tool you could think of. Magic rings and hoops hung from the ceiling. There were colorful scarves and objects of every shape, size, and color scattered about. Multiple decks of cards, each used for a different kind of trick, were stacked on one edge of his desk. The human sized box he used for some of his disappearing tricks doubled as his bed because there wasn’t room for one with everything else in the cart. Sure, in one sense, it was almost like sleeping on top of a coffin, but Wyrm did what he had to for his craft. Besides, it reminded him of what he was running from. Not that he necessarily needed a reminder; the image of his parents’ deaths haunted him to this day. Sleep was as elusive as some of his tricks. He tossed and turned for the better part of 4 hours before he finally gave up. He sat up and tried to rub the sleep from his face. Then he made a coin appear in his hand, danced it back across his hand before making it disappear again. “That’s a nifty little trick,” someone said near the doorway to his cart. “Can you do that with a knife? I’d like to learn that.”Wyrm jumped to his feet. Well, as much as one could in the confined space. His first thought was that the Inquisitors had finally caught up to him, but as he flared his tin, he didn’t see the telltale spikes through the eyes of an Inquisitor. “You?” He asked. The person only nodded once. “Don’t suppose you’ll just let me go?”The person shook their head. “Then…. how about one last trick? I promise to not try anything. It’s just… well, I never did get to really perform here yet and it just wouldn’t be right, me dying without getting in one last performance; even if it is for an audience of one.”Before the figure could reply, a deck of cards appeared in Wyrm’s hand and he quickly and extravagantly shuffled them. The cards jumped from hand to hand and back again. He had half the deck in one hand the rest in the other and then cut each set with each hand. The cards flew through the air with a practiced elegance and flow until Wyrm was done. Then he fanned them out towards the other person. “Pick a card any card, please.”The person hesitated, but eventually relented and drew a card. “Now,” Wyrm said, “look at it and memorize it. Then put it back in the deck.”The person did and Wyrm began shuffling again. “I’ll need you to keep your card in mind. This doesn’t work unless it’s at the very forefront of your mind. You see, this is my very special deck. It can read minds.”He finished shuffling and held the deck out to the person and let them shuffle it around a bit, even if they weren’t as graceful about it as Wyrm was. When they finished, Wyrm took the deck back. He passed his hands over the top of it, snapped his fingers and pulled off the top card. “Is this your card?”The person shook their head. Wyrm turned the card around looked at it. It was the King of Hearts, also known as the suicide king since it looks like the king is stabbing himself in the head. “Ah,” Wyrm said. “That makes sense, considering why you’re here tonight. I did tell you to keep the card in your foremost thoughts, not on my impending death! Right, we’ll try this again.” -he drew the next card off the top. It was the 6 of spades. He held it up so that the person could see it.- “Is this your card?”The person nodded and reached for their knife. “There. You’ve done your trick. Now you die.”Wyrm was still holding the card out in his hand. “But I’m not entirely done yet. You see, if I do this-”He blew on the card and it flipped out of his hand towards the Spiked. As it flew, it multiplied and then multiplied again and then again. Soon, there was a torrent of 6 of Spades flying through the air between Wyrm and the Spiked. The Spiked backed up initially before charging through the whirlwind, but that was all the time Wyrm needed. He opened the coffin sized box he used for a bed and slipped inside; letting the lid bang shut on top of him.The Spiked wasn’t more than a second behind, but when they opened the box, Wyrm was nowhere to be seen and the box unfolded at the seams. The Spike stared in confusion, their prey lost.Wyrm rolled out from underneath the cart and brushed the snow off of himself as he stood up. He had learned a long time ago that it paid to always have an escape route available and in this case, there was little chance that the Spiked could’ve guessed how he had disappeared. Now he just needed to get to someone who would listen and he could tell them who another of the Spiked were! But first, ever the showman, he stopped and faced the cart. “Bow for applause,” he said before following his words with a flourish and a bow. It was due to this that he didn’t see the other Spiked step around the side of his cart or the swing of the sword blade as it took off his head while he was still bowed. Day 6 has begun and you now have 48 hours until the end of the turn. The Amazing Wyrm was a Villager Tineye! *Special Note: PMs are now closed! You can no longer use PMs to communicate. If a Mistborn draws Tin or anything like that, I will inform you at that time, but for now, no more PMs. Current Player List Edited May 27, 2017 by Alvron 9
