Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Weird. It shouldn't be that bad. I was going to reply to HS then I realized the time.
Haelbarde he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 @Mark: Yes, the numbers in the curly braces are to represent the players first, second, etc, vote.
Metacognition he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Night 4: SlothIt seemed that Gidomara’s death let something loose on the village, as everyone else became lethargic and slow. Either that, or the fires from the other day had taken their toll on them and they had lost hope. The result was the same. Not many people showed up the next day to the Canton building. “Over half the village isn’t here! What are we supposed to do?” Maill asked. He shuffled back and forth in agitation. “How do we find out who is plotting against us when no one even bothers to show up?”El spoke up, a bit timidly, “I suppose we could try to find out why they’re not here?” Maill eyed her with a paranoid look. “Like, for example, why Kassien decided that he couldn’t show up this time? What says that Kassien isn’t trying to stay away from this meeting to keep from being found out?” El stood a little straighter with the accusation. “How dare you? Kassien is hard at work, trying to prepare salves and elixirs to help within the coming fight and you think he’s one of these Spiked? Do you have no decency?”For his part, Maill slumped his shoulders. “No, you’re right. I’m being unfair. It’s just- with so many people gone, I don’t know how we’re supposed to find these Spiked! What, do we just go around, knocking on doors and asking them?”“I do not envy you, the living,” Hellscythe said as he hid in the shadows along one wall. “The stress of survival seems to weigh on your every decision.” Both Maill and El cast a glare in his direction. Before they could start back up, the whole world seemed to shake around them. Dust from the rafters cascaded down, looking like the lightly falling snow that was coming down outside in the afternoon light. As if they were all one, the few that had decided to show up dashed for the doors. It didn’t take long to pinpoint the source of the explosion. Kilven’s forge and all of the armaments he had been making for the siege had been blown sky high. Now, Tyrian Falls was without a palisade, without weapons; what was next? Like a shot from an arrow, El leaped down the steps and practically flew towards the apothecary. “Kassien!” She yelled as she ran. Gee, thanks guys. I always love it when last minute votes come in! Night 4 begins and you have 24 hours to get any orders in. No one was Lynched! Again! Votes:Hellscythe (2): El, MaillMaill (2): Alexander, HellscytheNo Vote (19): Edrab, STINK, Herwynbe, Locke, Kassien, Bartholomew, Wyrm, Clara, Unknown, Riew, Exisa, Kilven, Inor, Citona, Vron, Jain, Slart, Kane, LuCurrent Player List *SPECIAL NOTE* Kipper came to me just after the game started and asked to be a pinch hitter. Normally I don’t allow such things, but I told him that he could if the situation came up. As such, he’ll be replacing Citona Vinid (Shallan) as the Bellringer for this game. Both players have been informed and things will continue from here. Welcome Kip! Edited May 27, 2017 by Alvron 6
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Welcome, Kipper! Wow, that was close, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I think it was Stink and Kas's votes that were changed to no-votes. Is that right?
Haelbarde he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) This really needs to change, and I know I'm just as guilty as the next person. But we're going to need to start lynching at some point... Edit: And welcome, Kipper! Mod queue problem resolved? Have you been keeping track of what's been happening in the game? Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Welcome, Kipper! Wow, that was close, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I think it was Stink and Kas's votes that were changed to no-votes. Is that right? Yes.
Hellscythe he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Well that was intense. Can we stop trying to kill me please?
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 This really needs to change, and I know I'm just as guilty as the next person. But we're going to need to start lynching at some point... Edit: And welcome, Kipper! Mod queue problem resolved? Have you been keeping track of what's been happening in the game? Agreed about the tied lynches. I was hoping it'd be manipulated by only one vote, not two. At least we'd learn something.
Mark IV he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 So, we've got 2 Soothers who are playing against each other? Just a guess.
Kasimir he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) I did say I wasn't Smoking Edit: Also, seriously, Meta? Are you trying to give the Spiked a target now? >> Edited January 4, 2016 by Kasimir
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 That was... inactive. 19 no votes. Like QF11. Maill, this is another try to lynch you. Sorry.
Mark IV he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 It's night time Anamaximder. No votes right now.
STINK he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Though it would help if Venture actually said why he wants Maw dead so much... EDIT: Also Soothers, if you could just stop doing whatever you are doing so that people actually die and we can get info, that would be great. Otherwise I'm just gonna presume you're all Spiked and don't want us to have any info. Edited January 4, 2016 by IrulelikeSTINK
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Kilven looked at the ruins of his forge, shaking. His livelihood of twenty one years, the only hope for the town's defense was now a blasted scar on the earth. He had nothing. All of his materials, all of his boxings, had been in his forge. How could he continue? Even if the Koloss didn't destroy the town, it would take years to rebuild all that the traitors had destroyed in minutes. If they didn't defeat the traitors, there was nothing to be done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay. That was interesting. Since our coinshots are either inactive or nonexistent, we are going to need to start lynching people. Edited January 4, 2016 by Mashadar Mistborn 1
Hellscythe he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) So I'm a Smoker. I forgot to send in the order so I asked Meta and he said I'm clouded tonight. Let's get some coinshot and seeker abilities rollin out there. Edited January 4, 2016 by Hellscythe
Kasimir he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 So I'm a Smoker. I forgot to send in the order so I asked Meta and he said I'm clouded tonight. Let's get some coinshot and seeker abilities rollin out there. That doesn't make sense. You Cloud yourself (and someone else, if you want) at Night, and then the Coppercloud continues into the day. So if you Smoke on Night 1, you are also Smoked on Day 1, then you decide again on Night 2. You're Smoked right now but the Night is still young so you can send in an order to drop the Coppercloud. What's your game?
Hellscythe he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 You're right. It's a night action. Imma go turn it off LOL
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) That was... inactive. 19 no votes. Like QF11. Maill, this is another try to lynch you. Sorry. The storms?? Can you explain why? Edited January 4, 2016 by Mailliw73
STINK he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 So I'm a Smoker. I forgot to send in the order so I asked Meta and he said I'm clouded tonight. Let's get some coinshot and seeker abilities rollin out there. 1. It really isn't that hard to realize that it is the night and not the day cycle. 2. What does you being a Smoker have to do with the Coinshot abilities? 3. Based on the next post, this is again a clear 'Seek me!' with the whole 'I'M TURNING OFF THE CLOUD'. 4. I guess this is part of your 'Making discussion' tactic? 5. Which coincidentally makes you out to be some form of leader for the town. Yeah, HS is evil. 1
Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 This is the cycle I wouldn't mind Lurcher protection, if I can get it. I have a feeling I might be attacked. Seeker, I propose you scan Stink this cycle.
Herowannabe he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 hey all, I'll take my fair share of the blame for the inactivity this past cycle. I've been busy IRL and every time I have gotten online I've only had a couple minutes- not even long enough to get caught up with the thread. I will endeavor to get caught up sometime today.
Elkanah he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Hey, sorry I haven't been around the last couple of turns. I've been trying to keep up with both threads and post meaningful content in both, but I wanted to rp in this game and it just takes too long. Looking back through the thread, I think Hellscythe is the most suspicious at this point. Partially because he has contradicted himself. Partially because of his defense of Lopen. And although I really like his milder playstyle it is a big change from qf11 and mr10. That said I would be okay with him being scanned. It's a better alternative to all these tied lynches. If he's evil, it won't be too hard to lynch him. If he isn't, we can move on.
STINK he/him Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Nope, we don't scan people we want to lynch that badly. EDIT: Why no-one posting. Coinshots, please kill Wyrm. Can I double post to make people notice this edit that has come ages after the post was made? Edited January 5, 2016 by IrulelikeSTINK
Metacognition he/him Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) Day 4: LegaciesEl ran as fast as she could, but as the sunlight started to fade, she could see another light flaring up ahead of her. She pushed herself to run even faster, denying what she already knew to be true. She reached the Apothecary just as the first villagers were doing so as well. She slid to halt before falling to her knees. The Apothecary was alight with flames and while she didn’t absolutely know, the likelihood that Kassien had still been in there before the first started was all too likely. “Kassien. No,” she whispered as a tear leaked down her cheek. *30 minutes prior*Kassien had elected to stay away from the town meeting. He’d sent El along ahead as his stand-in. After their initial burst of luck at finding Lippen and with the addition of every innocent death afterwards, Kassien found it harder and harder to try to blame someone new of being one of the Spiked. Instead, he figured he’d make himself useful by doing what he did best; staying out of the way and mixing the herbs and salves. The door chimed as someone entered. Kassiens back was turned to the door, so he just called out, “Be with you in just a second. You know how these things go. If I don’t get the mixture right at the right time, then it’s likely it won’t work at all!” “We’re not here for your tonics,” said someone. They had a slightly menacing tone about it. “Well, in a way, we are, but not in the way that you are thinking. Kassien felt a shiver run up his spine. To his credit, he merely stopped what he was doing and turned around to face a group of people standing in his shop. He looked each of them in the eyes and what he saw there confirmed his suspicions. Their eyes were cold and uncaring. “Ah,” was all he said. El watched as the villagers started running about, gathering pails and barrels of water to try to help put out the fire. She felt so hopeless at the moment. Everything she had ever known had just been taken from her in one fell swoop. The Apothecary gone; Kassien gone. She was nothing now. Not nothing, a thought broke through her self loathing. It was Kassien’s voice. You still have everything you’ve learned, everything you’ve studied. Save them, El. You have so save them from themselves. El felt a sense of resolve growing inside of her. Whether that voice was her consciousness or if it was Kassien’s ghost, it was right. She wasn’t helpless and she wasn’t done. She stood just as the first villagers started coming back to help fight the fire. She stood in their way.“Ah”“We’ve been waiting for this, you know. It’s your fault that Lippen was found out and now we get to revenge our fallen comrade. So do you have any last words?”Kassien swallowed a lump in his throat. “A few actually. If you’ll bear with me, I’d like to go over the entire list of ingredients I have here in the shop, and all of their properties, and the different ways that I can mix them, and what they can be used for. You see, even though you’re murderers and terrorists, I’d rather all of my knowledge does go to waste. So, to begin we have Arstinct. It’s a fairly well know weed grown in the more sourthern regions of the Empire. It’s distinct by its deep brown colo-”“You’re rambling to try to buy yourself time. It won’t work. Good bye, Kassien.”Kassien took a step back. “Wait! Fine. Just…. Just please make sure that El gets the Apothecary after I’m gone, okay? She’s smart. She’s already learned basically everything I could ever teach her. She’ll figure out the rest from here. Can- can you do that much for me? That’s all I ask.”The Spiked in front of him drew a spike from within the folds of their clothes. They shrugged. “We’ll see,” they said as they plunged the spike through Kassien’s throat. “She can have what’s left of it….”“What are you doing?!? Get out of the way!”El stood her ground, her arms out to either side.“I can’t let you go any closer. If you do, you might die.” She said it so calmly and assuredly, that a few of the villagers stepped a few more feet back. “We don’t know what ingredients are being burnt right now and in what combinations. Just breathing in the smoke could be enough to kill you. I’m sorry. I can’t let you throw your lives away. Kassien wouldn’t want me to let you throw your lives away. We” -Her breath caught in her throat- “just need to let it burn.”By the time the smoke cleared and the Apothecary was no more, there were two new messages hanging from the Canton’s doors. One read: These are not the Spiked you're looking for...Wannabe-Jedi out there performing mind tricks on us... Stop it. It's just wasting time now.Seriously, if we've got two Soothers battling it out over these two, why don't we just leave them to the side for now and come back to them later? They're not going anywhere, unless they get killed, in which case we no longer need to tryr and lynch them anyway. We have plenty of other people to look at, so let's not tunnel in on them to the exclusion of all others. Could even Coinshot these two to solve this issue.'And the other:Soothers stop Soothing.Hellscythe can be lynched.STINK can't go to sleep.I'm too tired to encrypt stuff. Why did I even do it in the first place? For those wondering, Mesa would've been the password.Wonder what Mesa could mean?Someone knows. Someone other than me, that is.This is why I shouldn't write these at 2 in the morning.Or should I?We should kill Wyrm. Day 4 begins! You have 48 hours until the end of the turn! Kassien was a Village Smoker!Current Player List Edited May 27, 2017 by Alvron 7
