skaa he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) My avatar is a spikeless Allomantic crescent symbol and a spikeless Feruchemical angle symbol combined, to show that I am a Scadrian without any powers. The way they're combined makes the angle part look like a thick spike, which symbolizes the ability to use the Metallic Arts even without being Metalborn (e.g. the mechanical Allomancy of Southern Scadrians). My signature was once full of spoiler tags to contain all my favorite 17th Shard related stuff. The admins didn't like that so much, hence the highly abridged version you now see below. The new sig also has a link to my About Me page (which can also be accessed by clicking on my avatar), where I've placed all the content from my previous sig (and then some). I've used it plenty of places before, but I'm happiest with this version. jW

I actually only finished two songs so it ended up being more of a single than an album, but oh well. I of course needed a cover so I asked my best friend at the time if she could ask her girlfriend (at the time) if the girlfriend could make something for me. I just told her to paint a snail (because one of the songs was She Plays With Snails) and she did. The signature quote is from Thomas Ligotti's prose poem I have a special plan for this world. It's a chalkling, and it fits the new circular icons perfectly (or just about). We'll see if I ever change it. My sig... is fairly simple. A couple links, and a quote I quite like.

I was coming up with an e-mail address when I was a lad. Adding numbers to names never occurred to me, so I was trying to use something obscure but cool. I read the Silmarillion a lot in those days and probably even had read the essay on the Ishtari found in Unfinished Tales by that time. It also would have been on my mind because it's also the name of an isle in a river in the Mithgar books by Dennis L McKiernan. I remember reading that thinking, "I know where he got that!" 1
