Patar he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 I've seen several people wanting to have different opponents team up. While I do think that this one should stay as a one on one, would anyone be interested in doing a team tournament after this one?
Curiosity he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Ok, I think that Obliteration is more marginally more interesting right now that Nightblood. Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I just want to see what happens in the next books in the series before deciding. This one is trickily close.
Seonid he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Nightblood, just because I want Nightblood v. Vasher to happen
Alvron Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Obliteration. He can melt Nightblood from a distance which means that Nightblood can't do anything.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Obliteration. He can melt Nightblood from a distance which means that Nightblood can't do anything. Exactly. Plus Obliteration has a real personality. This is the one time I vote for a Reckoners character, of course and I get way outnumbered.
Mestiv he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Obliteration, as I'm not that big fan of Nightblood
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Obliteration. Given that Nightblood has still to touch stuff to damage it our dear favourite magic sword would be useless against him.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Obliteration. If a team-up (which would be extremely likely, given their similar worldviews) was out of the question, Obliteration's powers work at longer ranges than Nightblood's.
Alfa he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I am just not sure what amount of power can destroy Nightblood. Also Oblis power is not very focused.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I am just not sure what amount of power can destroy Nightblood. Also Oblis power is not very focused. ? Obliteration shows an absurd amount of control over his powers, to the point where he can produce the temperatures to completely incinerate a person in a matter of seconds and nothing but the person he's targetting gets harmed.
Patar he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 And the winner is Obliteration! I'm a bit reluctant to start a team-up now that we are so far into the tournament, but we could for sure do a team tournament after this one! Anyways, the next match is Vasher vs. Sylphrena!
Elbereth she/her Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) I think it (for the next tournament) a team up could just be a third option, so you can say who you think is better or that they should team up. Vasher vs. Sylphrena. That's difficult. Syl, I think. I can't explain why, though. Edited October 22, 2015 by Elbereth (Limelleth)
Alfa he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I think it ends up with Vasher going away with a deep grudge on this... shimmering talking something in the air and muttering that awakening has to work on this things and SYL having her fun.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 If there's anyone figuring out the whole Fabrial stuff or another means to deal with a Spren it's Vasher.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Definitely Vasher. Since we're not allowing teamup, and Kaladin is another contestant, Syl doesn't have anyone to wield her all she can do is make things sticky while vasher has a whole host of abilities. Which begs the question, if Kaladin were to were to wield Nightblood, would Syl die? Edited October 22, 2015 by The Only Joe 1
Alfa he/him Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I thought you can have multiple Nahel Bonds.
natc Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I thought you can have multiple Nahel Bonds. I think it's more that she's probably the biggest piece of investiture in him to be drained that isn't Kaladin's soul.
Alvron Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) Vasher can't see Syl so targeting her would be hard. However Syl has no offensive abilities of her own that we are aware of. Edge goes to Vasher. He will win but it will take time. Edited October 23, 2015 by Alvron
Bort he/him Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Syl. She cannot be touched by Vasher, and can turn into a weapon. I'll bet she could wield herself if she wanted to.
