Quite frustrated. So that argument I spent 1.5 weeks working on and discovered it was flawed yesterday? Well, I had to cobble together a replacement argument and I think it's pretty much rust.

Well done, Kas. Inb4 that paper comes back with a giant red C...

At church. Siblings went into the other building. Don't know why they went there, but they didn't invite me, so it's pretty clear they didn't want me to come. Oh, they might say I could've come later, but I know they had more fun without me.

I'm just feeling melancholy and left out today, I guess. I feel so out of place here.

This thing, he reeks of irony. Why is church, of all places, not being inclusive and friendly? It defies all reason. Anyways, I'm sorry you're feeling melancholy. But that's why we're here, amirite? :)

I don't know...I can't shake the feeling that it's my fault. Like this is the friendliest place on earth and it's my fault I don't fit in or something.

Well, hugs anyways. Sorry I can't be of more help...

Only one thing to do...and that's dressing as Funtimes next week.

If only I had a rainbow prom dress and light-up knee socks. :(

Well, all you need for the first is a regular prom dress and some water balloons filled with dye...

Which are a lot easier to come by if you happen to be a matter manipulator.

Sorry I deleted the original post, guys. I just....arrrrghhh. PM me and I'll try to put my thoughts into words.

I'm pretty sure that this is a thing that could happen.  Sewing machines are glorious things, and running LEDs into a pair of socks is not outside the realm of possibility.

Is anyone on the Shard French? Is everyone ok?

I have colleagues who are French and many come from the Paris region. I'll check on them tomorrow  :( I have no pity for suicidal bombers.

Felt grouchy today. Mom yelled at me for making her and everyone else feel tense. Projected feelings into me. Wants to "work some stuff out." Took lunch to her room.

I can't make myself feel anything.

You know that something bad has become routine, if you don't even get angry anymore. Can we at least make you feel something good?

I'm sorry. :( Edgedancer beat me to it, but would you like a pug and a kitty?

Trying to stargaze? Pugs are magical creatures capable of staring through the Sun's radiation, through the nigh-infinite blackness of space, and making out galaxies on the far side of the universe. When they're sneezing, they're actually creating tiny sub-space passages in their nostrils and communicating with advanced alien races.

Thanks for the pugs and jokes, guys. :) I do feel a little better, just…not about things between me and my mom. She said she wants to make things better between us, but there's only one thing that could—admitting she was wrong and being genuinely sorry. I've given her chances, and she's not only refused, but spat in my face. Metaphorically speaking.

The pugs are awesome, though.

I'd say, for now, stop giving her chances. It does you no good to get your hopes up if she's just going to stomp all over them. Wait till you've moved out and have space and then see what can be done about the relationship. That's just my 2 cents. And I'm so sorry. :(

Crazy theory of the day, can you go see a therapist and have a professional to bounce ideas off of how to deal with everything?

I have. That was part of why she was mad—I don't talk to her about my life anymore, so she got mad at me for being secretive. But once I have some space, and she's not paying for my room and board anymore, I'll see what can be done.

It was one of her suggestions, which makes me wary of actually doing it. Truth be told, I'm scared of going to a therapist—she sent me to one when I was a teen, and she agreed with everything my mom said.

I have a cold and I had to carry a full bag of deer corn to our storage building and the air was cold and wet and irritated my sinuses and then when I opened the bag a big cloud of dust poofed out of it and made me choke and the two measly steps back to the ground were wet and slippery so when leaving the building I slipped and hit both of my arms really hard, and somehow jerked my head in an odd way so now I have a really bad crink in my neck so now I'm in physical pain and generally suffering from this infernal cold and I just noticed that I scraped my arm in my fall and I'm bleeding and everything just plain sucks.

* gasps for breath *

OK, I'm done. You may continue now.

The world is a terrible place and I don't feel like dealing with it today. Someone tell me happy things. Please.

Random anecdote time! I don't know if you've heard this before, but it cracks me up every time So there's this thing called the SCA, or Society for Creative Anachronisms, which is a group that dresses up like they're from the Middle Ages, pretty accurately, and gather to sing medieval songs and fight and such. So once, there was this little old lady walking home from an SCA meeting, and a mugger with a switchblade accosted her for her money. When she refused, he went to stab her... and the knife slid off of her real, actual chainmail. Thereupon she said, "A six inch knife? I'll see your six, and raise you thirty!" And she drew her real, actual sword and chased him off.

I have. That was part of why she was mad—I don't talk to her about my life anymore, so she got mad at me for being secretive. But once I have some space, and she's not paying for my room and board anymore, I'll see what can be done.

Well, I think going to a therapist is a good thing. Just have it be someone you pick, rather than your mom, and go to that therapist before telling your mom you have, so you get the chance to tell your side of the story first. It doesn't even have to be a therapist. Just go to someone you trust.

I live in central Texas surrounded by cacti and mesquite trees. I'm good at avoiding them, but you can't go outside without loose thorns working their way into your clothes and pricking you. <_<
