Long Game 14: To Shatter a Shard

I understand the vote on me. I haven't really done much real analysis in this game and most of my posts have been filler.

Right now my thoughts are that a WGG like some think Kipper may have done is more likely since his extra life only lasted for one cycle.

Also if mailliw is an oc then he is playing a very risky game that I am not sure he could expect to survive doing it for long.

Speaking of mailliw how did he end up getting pms back?

I didn't even know he had them back, so presumably he's managed to convice Cult that he is a good person.

.....Cultivation is a flake, clearly.

Honestly, I needed to ask Maill something, and while I'm still uncertain about his alignment I suspect he's good, especially since he will die tomorrow if he just lied to me about something. And I've told multiple people what he said so if.....something....happens at the rollover, Maill is a dead man, even if I'm not alive to make sure that happens.

So do you want him alive or dead? Or is this going to be another thing like with Alvom where we have people telling other people what to do, even though earlier people were stating that there wasn't a coalition, which might be right if everyone is just following 1 persons orders.

Like Kipper, my vote on Vom was a request of another through a PM. They made a reasonably good case as to Vom's guilt and I believed it. Unfortunately, this person didn't actually vote for Vom, but they did have a reasonable case.

Stink, you want to lead lynches? It isn't the glamourous job it looks to be. I'll gladly follow your lead if you want. But when just about no one has voted almost 24 hours in, I'm going to make something happen. Regretfully, that often happens to be innocents dying.

Hey, hey, hey! There is not a Coalition! Wilson doesn't tell me a lot of things, and I know it. The only reason I agreed with her for this was that I got the feeling that she was starting to suspect me, and I wanted to mitigate that.

And Clanky, why is it unreasonable to assume that Inwas attacked in the same cycle as I was Invested? Do you have some proof to the contrary?

Posted

If leading the lynches means being the first person to be told to lynch someone else, then no.

If leading the lynches means making sure that you get lynched tomorrow because right now everyone is saying that they lynched this person because of someone else? Then I'll happily do it, as one moment you're all 'Cultivation bad' and now you're perfectly willing to follow orders?

Sounds suspicious to me.

And no-one voting isn't a bad thing, as in the end it lead to a helpful protecting role die, while as before no-one would've been dying and Cult would've been happy telling you all what to do.

We lost our one kill role. This is all we have, aside from Bloodsealers and Poisoners, to take out OCs.

I don't follow Culty's orders. I consider them and, if they seem to be the best course of action, then I'll do it. Lady C is a good planner and she knows what she's doing, so often her plans are good ones. That doesn't mean I follow everything or jump on any lynch she proposes. This one just had very good reasoning. I genuinely thought Vom was an OC.

A helpful role died, yes, but Joe made a decision about LO's that they follow their operator's last orders. We lost the Operator but we didn't lose the Lifeless. I know exactly where that Lifeless is because Alvom told me. I'd been worried he'd told me to get me to suspect him less, since I had reasons to believe he was an OC. And I would've voted. I actually had my secret vote on him, but I forgot to invest so....that kind of failed. Point is, I'm sorry Alvom died. I feel bad about that. But I'm figuring out about some people more because of it, and that's helpful.

And yes, I did ask both Kipper and Maill to vote for Alvom. At least in Kipper's case, that was because the other option was someone I really didn't think was an OC, and I didn't want to lynch someone who would net us practically no information when we could lynch someone who could net us some information and I did have reasons to suspect, even if those were clearly wrong.

Posted

Maill, I asked you about why you decided to lynch Alvom, and you said that Cult told you to, so when I said that you weren't really defending yourself, you've again said that Cult told you to but that you actually had your own suspicions, but then go on to say that listening to Cult is a great idea.

What were those suspicions?

Hey! How come I didn't get my PM with Maill back!?! I'm so alone!!!

J/k, I don't know why I want it back since all Maill did was threaten me and FORCE information out of me.  :P

Posted

I know, I was just messing with you. :P  I was like "What the heck, why not?" It seemed like there was a lot of PM conversation, and I didn't know how to really be a part of it, so I actually revealed my role to a couple people besides you.

Eastward the wind blew, over the cold blue-green swells of the Bright Sea, towards T’Telir, where ships furled and unfurled sails shaded every colour one could imagine.  More ships filled the harbor loading and unloading goods.  The wind howled into the harbor, causing a merchant to curse as some of his spices were blown away as customs inspected them.

Through the streets the wind wound passing palm trees and garden, shops and workers, until it came to a plateau surrounded by a large, obstructive wall.  On the other side of the wall was a place that many never saw but most spoke of.  Those within were few but all moved with a purpose.  For they served the Gods of this world.

Here the wind parted but didn’t die as it turned northward until it reached the Crossroads Garden.  More of a park than a simple garden.  Statues stood in various poses, some were missing limbs while others wore colourful and often clashing clothes.

It was in this place that Second had found refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. A city vastly different the the mainland ones of his home world.  The wind ruffled his cloak as he watched the passerbys.  He was looking for someone in particular. A man with answers.   A man who calls himself Wilkin.

Wilkin however was nowhere to be found.  Rumours were rampant that Wilkin had something to do with the death of God King MiriKas and had fled the city to parts unknown.

Day Four: In the Dark of the Night

Maw couldn’t help but think something was wrong as he quietly shoveled dirt out of the grave. It wasn’t that he was the one being tasked with burying Alvom, though that was irritating enough. It wasn’t even that Alvom had been innocent in the end.

It wasn’t anything he could think of, it was just his instincts screaming at him that something was wrong. And he didn’t know what. He tried to ignore the feelings as he finished the hole. He tossed the shovel over his shoulder, grabbed Alvom’s corpse by the ankles and dragged it over to the grave, where he unceremoniously shoved it it.

He paused, wondering if he should say a few words. Before he could think of any, the Shovel hit him in the back of the head. His eyes glazed over and he toppled into the grave. His killer smirked, and started shoveling Dirt onto the bodies, covering them both completely, before leaving.

Wilkin felt the power inside of him pulse in time with his heart. The extra Investiture gave him a nice sense of security, especially after that incident with the poison and the Lifeless. Hopefully there wouldn’t be a repeat of that.

The Power inside him suddenly quivered, as if sensing something. Trusting his instincts, Wilkin jumped to the side, looking back in time to see a bolt of red lightning surge through the air where his head had been.

He jumped to his feet and ran. The God King was one thing. Odium? That was something else entirely.

“Do you think you can outrun me boy?” He yelped in surprise. The voice had come from right next to him. He lashed out, trying to know back whoever it was, but his arm only hit smoke. He tried to pull back to make another attack, but his arm was no longer moving, stuck in the red cloud of power.

“Goodbye Wilkin. You’ve been an admirable foe.” The cloud lit up with Lightning, and Wilkin was thrown backwards through the air. He screamed as he landed, his back twisted at an unnatural angle. His Investiture pulsed again, and started to decrease. He could feel his body fixing itself, bones reknitting, skin scabbing over.

He laid there for a long time, waiting for his body to heal, and hoping that his attacker wouldn’t return.

The Ostrich looked up into the starry sky. Something was out there, and he didn’t know what. All he could feel was a sense of generosity and decay. What was it?

A new star appeared. Rather than the normal white, it was green, and rapidly approaching. The Ostrich hurried forward towards where it appeared the starthing would land. What could it be?

The was a pulse of power as it hit the ground. It was a woman. She looked around unhurriedly, her gaze eventually settling on the Ostrich. “Are you Lord Ostrich, ruler of this planet?”

Ahh, someone who knew him. He rapidly shed his form, returning to his human one, the one he had used to conquer this planet. He rose and bowed to her. “I am m’Lady. And you are?”

“You’re Executioner.” As quick as thought, she threw forward a ball of green energy. It impacted against his chest before he could react, and he screamed as Ruinous energy surged through him, searing his skin, shattering his bone and splitting his muscles.

The pain was great enough that he didn’t hear his killer speak again as she left. “I am sorry it had to be this way.”

As the first light of the new day shone down upon the world, there was a disturbance at Alvom’s Grave. A fist burst out of the Earth, and started digging at the dirt. Eventually it was joined by a second fist. It took nearly an hour for the head to become visible, but once it was, Maw had a much easier time in unearthing himself.

He gasped in a breath of air, the first he’d had in nearly two hours. He looked around, taking in the grave, the dented shovel and his own half buried body, and let out a wheezing laugh. He threw his arms into the air in triumph. “I’m still alive!”

Wilson and Mailliw were attacked, but both Survived.

Ostrich was brutally mowed down. He was a Worldhopper!

Any chance Wilson has pulled a WGG? I think not, but there's always that lingering sense of paranoia.

EDIT: Wait a moment, the current holder of Ruin is female? I thought Joe clarified that Ruin would always be referred to as male.

Once, I could buy. Even if it meant giving up a Lifeless from Team Odium. But twice? That's just an irresponsible waste of kills on their part. My instinct says that they are really trying to get rid of her. Probably to shut down the village's communication/trust group (not a coalitionTM).*

Also, Joe, the write up makes it sound like Mail died, but the summary says he lived. Mind clarifying?

That wasn't Ruin that killed Ostrich.
