Words of Radiance spoiler.

Is there a difference between the common Shardblades based on which Spren they were originally? A difference between living Shardblades?

We're in Cosmere theories, all released books are fair game.

That aside, do you mean besides the superficial? Because Pattern and Syl's blades look different (specifically Pattern has geometric pattersn, Syl is more swirly, IIRC. I believe the patterns are also different colors.)

I meant if they had actual different powers. I suppose aesthetic concerns exist, as well.

Dalinar is flung through the air, and he says that the armor righted itself, as though it knew which way way down. I wondered if this were a trait of the Order his Plate was originally a part of, or a thing that all Plate has in common.

What would happen if you Leeched a listener in slaveform? Warform? Stormform?

What if you Leeched an Awakened object? An Awakener? A Lifeless? A Returned?

I thought David defined High Epic for us as any Epic with access to one of the Prime Invulnerability powers...

Posted

I thought that too, but then Voidus posted this quote from Steelheart:

But most are beneath your notice. You target High Epics, and there are only a few hundred of those in Newcago. Among them, only a couple dozen have a prime invincibility

I just tweeted Brandon and Peter to see if they would answer and Peter gave the response of: "You may find helpful answers in FIREFIGHT."

:o Brandon himself tweeted back and said it is where you have to negate the Epics power somehow to kill them. I tweeted back asking how that differed from a prime invincibility though.

Q: Are the Parshendi of Odium?

A: Not originally.

Q: Are the Parshendi of Cultivation?

A: Not originally.

Q:  Are the Parshendi of Honor?

A:  No

Could the Parshendi ever become "Of honor"?

When Vasher is 'hiding' his Divine Breath, is he still just as resistant to other Investiture, like having metal in him Pushed?

Nightblood can be used as a spike, though it would be difficult:

We asked if a shardblade or Nightblood could be used as a hemalurgic spike (i.e.: two different investitures of magic). Brandon said that yes, in theory you could do that, but objects have a limit to how much investiture they can hold, and that it could be argued that things like Nightblood and Shardblades are already "full."

Returned are Sentient Awakened things. Nightblood is a Sentient Awakened Thing. Returned are able to gather additional Breath and use them to Awaken. If Nightblood somehow were given more Breath, could he Awaken?

Could a Returned's Divine Breath heal an Inquisitor back into being a normal human?

Ooh, good question. This is particularly interesting because Divine Breath doesn't abide by the normal rules that healing does in the Cosmere: it doesn't need a great amount of error-prone tinkering (like specialized AonDor), but at the same time doesn't rely on the Cognitive aspect of the person being healed.

The question above was from my friend, and he is very gratified that you all seem to like it so much.

The following question is my own, and contains Words of Radiance spoilers.

Hypothetical scenario. Kaladin betrays his ideals again, trapping Syl as a Shardblade. Adolin takes this blade and uses a gemstone to bond to it. Then, Kaladin un-betrays his ideals again. What happens? Syl's bond to Adolin is simply broken? I find myself wondering if it's really that simple.

Could Nightblood attract a Spren and Become a KR?

Answered:

Q:  Could an awakened sentient object (e.g Nightblood ) bond a spren?

A:  Technically but the specific circumstances you would need are so bizarre, in practice no.
