Hole in your shoe? Shardboot! Hate the fuzzy rain of the Weeping? Shardbrella! Dear sweet precious Shallan stranded at the top of a tower somehow? Shardcopter! (I mean, you could just walk up there, but why would you?) I'm sure that if you remember to call her intelligent and articulate every hour or so, it'll all work out. 14

Sasori he/him Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 We know Syl can take many appearances, including the appearance of a human person (full size), we now know that not only. all may be for example a bucket or a hat. (?) If they can be whatever they want, I wonder if this means that all spren can take human form and walk as if they were persons of full size (transparent etc, but persons), we have seen Syl, but I can not imagine Pattern in human form... you imagine a meeting with all protagonists together with their spren in human form? It sounds cool to me. but I wonder if there forms that certain types of spren can not take. 4

Outis Will Allomancy affect Shardblades? Brandon Sanderson It cannot affect Shardblades. Well, cannot is a strong term. Things with innate Investiture are much more difficult to affect by any of the magics at all. Which is why it's very hard for Szeth to bind people or lash people wearing Shardplate to the ceiling. In the same way Allomancy wouldn't be able to push on it without some help. Duralumin with a strong Push would probably do it. Outis I was just wondering if it was actually metal. Brandon Sanderson It is metalish--it's metal enough for Allomancy to work on it. (source) That said I would say that it would be possible to Soothe/Riot someone in Plate (or a "Shardcap") but that it would be much harder to do (kind of like piercing a Coppercloud). 2

A Sylphone could likely fit about 10 times as many transistors as current phones and drive them at about 1000x the frequency. It could probably deliver similar improvements to memory capacity and bandwith.

Darkness he/him Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) Kaladin doesn't get cut when Syl lands on his shoulder, and she doesn't cut the leaf when she carries it to him... I'm thinking she can turn it on or off... or her cutting ability is tied to the intent of herself and the person she is bonded to? IAmTheBeard Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Shardblades only wound with sharp edges. You can touch the flat just fine and a Shardhammer only crushes, not cuts the soul. So as long as these items don't have sharp edges, you'll be fine. I'd also theorize that the edge has to be on a blade of some sort, in other words it has to Cognatively be a weapon.
