It has new characters and ties up some old threads. Ooh, sounds cool. So you'd recommend them?

Hey, I thought truthless was reading this... Anyway, I have all the books and those books are pretty good, but the last 2 books aren't nearly as good, (In my opinion) I didn't like the characters as much and the story wasn't as interesting to me. But, they are good books and you should read them, at least once. Edited December 14, 2020 by Ookla the Bored

Briar King Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Totally confused after last nights RoW session and I don’t want to go it’s forum and read a spoiler. These house repairs have mostly put a dead stop to 2 of the 3 books I’m reading. Lucky if I even make 5 pgs a night on RoW.
aneonfoxtribute Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 What got you confused l? I'm curious

Orlion Blight he/him Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I just finished it (RoW) and can help if you message me. If I feel that I'll spoil it, I'll just say RAFO!
Briar King Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Yeah I can’t speak about it in this thread. Will shoot PMs possibly. Just something I’m not sure if it had come up in bk 3 or not. I hated that book and have blocked much of it out.

Orlion Blight he/him Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I just finished RoW, and I really liked it. It could have even redeemed Oathbringer for me! *gasp!* Brandon still needs to finish W&W 4 pronto, though!

Briar King Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 It was a boring slogfest with super exhausting characters. Part 5 was dope though.

I definitely get at least some of that; though I tend to think part 5 was sufficiently awesome that it sort of absolves the rest of the book
Condensation she/her Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I disagree, although WoR is my favorite.

Watch out folks, here comes the Fan Police! Stay cool, act normal I really enjoyed Words of Radiance, and it created considerable amount of expectations for Oathbringer. Those expectations were mostly frustrated, so I was disappointed immensely with Oathbringer. Some specifics: when it became a Dalinar book instead of a Szeth book. Also Odium being a cartoonishly villainous antagonist instead of mostly being a force of nature like he was in Words of Radiance.

And that's all right. Everyone's got an opinion, and I won't tell you that yours is wrong. I think Brandon wanted to save Szeth for later, or maybe he's just not enough of a main character. Even if he should be.
Dunkum he/him Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 making steady progress through RoW now that I have been able to actually concentrate on it, but today I got an email that my request to my library to get a digital copy of Dawnshard went through, so now RoW is on pause so I can do a quick read of Dawnshard

I think they automatically lent me dawnshard when they got it, so i have a time limit on it. i'm already half way through, so it isn't a huge diversion.
Condensation she/her Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Rereading the original Mistborn trilogy... again. It's my go-to book for when I'm having troubles.

It's my go-to book for when I'm having troubles. I just finished relistening to Mistborn:A Secret and was wondering what you thought of this novella? I personally liked the information in A Secret History but thought it came across just a disjointed as Brandon feared it would and probably not be rereading it in the future. I’m finishing Black Moon the last of Quinn’s De Grandin stories regarding a French paranormal detective and his assistant. It’s fascinating to read these older stories written so long ago and see how the world around us has changed. I think they are a fun read. Edited December 17, 2020 by Ammanas

It's pretty disjointed. Drifter, though. Spoiler Just beats Kelsier up. 1
