Blind Guardian is great. They're a metal band who sing about fantasy books and are all avid readers. Despite its name, this song is about the Chandrian from The Kingkiller Chronicle not Stormlight Archive. However, there's a song on this album, Violent Shadows, which is about Kaladin.

My favorite song from Hamilton:

"Wait for it" just hits different.

Definitely one of my favorites as well, next to Satsified, First Burn, and Right Hand Man.

Song of the week is Nancy Mulligan by Ed Sheeran.  I am laying down, and my foot's tapping the wall, this song is so danceable!  I think I've listened to it fifteen times today.  I've been told that's not normal, but eh.  My neurons like it.

This needle drop probably shouldn't work but it really, really does.

The strings overwhelming the chorus and Bowie's and Mercury's vocals makes it more tragic/sad than the original.

Power Quest is one of the best power metal bands I have ever listened to. Unfortunately they disbanded a little awhile ago, but their music is incredible and they basically perfected old school power metal.

I know I'm double posting but it's been a week and I'm gonna bump the thread with this masterpiece:

Rhapsody of Fire is my favorite type of symphonic power metal, which incorporates baroque style music into it.

Probably a little late here but a decent song just came on. Not usually my style but Gasoline by Nic D. Weirdest most “clean the whole house to a beat” song I’ve heard in a while.

Gloryhammer is a parody band, and an extremely amazing power metal band as well. Lots of their songs are about crazy stuff like radioactive toxic dragons, knights with lasers, space wizards, post-apocalyptic goblin warriors, etc.

I found out a couple months back that Saturn by Sleeping at Last is a Really Great Song, and tonight I went and listened to Astronomy, Vol. 1, by the same artist.  And it was fantastic!  I will admit, I'm horrendously confused by the organization of the discography, but I will definitely be listening to more from this artist.

I'm still working through the Yearbook Album from Sleeping at Last, but I keep going back to Mars from his Planets album, and this song is so darned good.  'Our questions ricochet/ like broken satellites/ how our bodies, born to heal/ become so prone to die'?  Flays me.  And that's just one of the lines, I could probably say something about every one of the lyrics to this song.

Haven't watched the movie yet but this goes straight into my list of favorites for the year.

Beware of spoilers though, it feels like half the movie made it into the video.

Below is one of the most impactful songs I have encountered. It describes in detail one of my deepest level fears, and brings it to life both rhythmically and lyrically. It is a masterpiece of a performance for these reasons.

Avantasia is a band formed by Edguy's former lead vocalist, Tobias Sammet. This guy's voice is incredible. Such a good song, and such a great band.
