I would definitely recommend it. Maybe they'll turn out to be not your type of band, but I hope you'll find something good. 25 minutes ago, Firerust said: Two Steps From Hell's newest album Myth, woot woot! I expect it might turn out similarly to how I feel about the Killers--overall not for me, but with an album or two that I really enjoy. (I've put on Black Holes and Revelations to start and remembered that yes, I do like this album at least!)

I'll have to look into that. Discovered a new genre, at least, for myself. The genre being filk, or essentially space shanties. I think there's also a lot of fantasy ones, but I haven't gotten to those yet.
Robin Sedai she/her Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Radio Ga Ga, by Queen. I have my playlist on shuffle, and this is the third Queen song in a row that it's played. It's weird.
Shining Silhouette he/him Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 JACOB COLLIERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR He released a new single yesterday
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Two of my favorite cover artists released Top Gun: Maverick main theme covers today, so I've been listening to those. The Patrik Pietschmann one actually sounds like something I might almost be able to play, though I probably won't. 1

The music's one of the things I loved most about that movie. I didn't care about it either way before watching it, but the music had me hooked from the first note and didn't let me go 'til the lights came back on.

Spren of Kindness she/her Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 I've been aware of the fact that Blind Guardian has a Silmarillion concept album for a long time, and even tried to listen to it a couple years ago, but didn't finish. Well, yesterday I listened through the whole thing, and wow, these guys are good. I'm not a huge metal fan, but I'm really enjoying their music. They actually have a lot of songs inspired by different fantasy stories and I think science fiction as well. It's neat. 2

Also a lot of Stephen King, Michael Moorcock and the likes. The next album coming in a few months will have a song called "Damnation", so let's hope for the best Edited July 15, 2022 by Elegy 1

So after listening to a bunch of the songs from his album, I finally did it, I bought the digital download of Will Wood's The Normal Album, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. Every song, every single one, is a freaking gem! I'm going to call it, right now, this is the best song of the 2020's, I know what you're saying, "Wow, not even two years into the decade, and you're already calling the best song of the decade?" and you know what I say to that, "You better believe it!". Without further adieu, here is "Okultra (The Black Box Warrior)" By Will Wood, from the soon to be platinum album, The Normal Album (which you can buy for only $7 for digital download): 1
+Slowswift Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Favorite band just dropped their new album! Favorites after the first listen are Cut the Cord, Reason, and All Our Pieces. We'll see if anything changes once the album settles a bit more. But ahhhh! I'm so happy. It's been three years since their last--which was supposed to be a double album, but that got axed somewhere along the way. I'm glad it's finally here!
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 I've been listening to the Dunkirk soundtrack while I read. It works surprisingly well, because it's not the usual kind of soundtrack, I think. It kinda keeps the same level of tension throughout, so it never really ends up wildly dissonant from what I'm reading.
Shining Silhouette he/him Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 I've been listening to the ballet Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev ever since I saw it live. It's absolutely gorgeous. I love music that can tell a crushing romance or a boisterous adventure just through the harmonic clash of air waves. Kinda crazy if you think about it. 1

My favorite track is Undone, with All Our Pieces and Just Looking Around coming in just after it. Hnggghhh I love this album
+Hoiditthroughthegrapevine he/him Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Listen to this one on repeat for the rest of your life (that's my plan):
Going_North_cal Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Listening to Snow, by Sleeping At Last. It's calm, melancholy, hopeful, love filled, and so much more. It makes me feel warm though lol. I love it. 1

+Slowswift Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Never thought I'd see Owl City and Gareth Emery in the same place at the same time, but boy howdy am I happy about it! And this Armin van Buuren guy, too. I guess he's a big deal or something? (yes, I do actually know who he is, don't worry)
The Isochronism he/him Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 I just found perhaps the greatest song every written. Not just because of the music, though that is fantastic, but the music video gives my chills every time. 1
