So I was going through some old stuff, and found my old TaeKwonDo Black Belt Certificate. On it, it has printed the oath I swore when I became a black belt. The last line of the oath reads: “I seek honor not glory, patience not rage, courage instead of fear, and the power to protect those who cannot.” Just one of my steps toward becoming a Windrunner guys.

That's pretty cool! Which Dan (=degree of the black belt, we call it Dan) were you at, if it's okay for you to tell?

This was for my first Dan. I actually wasn’t able to continue after I earned it, so it’s the highest ranking belt I’ve earned.

Edit: oh yeah. When the whole alleyverse (and some others) are changing their names to be -spren for no reason.

When you read "Dan" as "dahn", then wonder if quitting karate on the belt before black makes you first nahn. (Hey, I am a darkeyes...they would've probably refused me based on eye color during the test, then pretended it was because I failed a kick or something. I understand why people find you interesting. You're the most significant forum user of the Great Sharders. What I can't understand is how people can put up with 40 notifications a day for each time you post

So, at the beginning it made sense, I swear.  When the same dude come by to answer the question, explain (and/or torpedo) the theory, and generally seems to be one of the more knowledgeable sources around, it seems like a good idea to play fly on the wall and just watch for a bit.

Then you realize they tend to go full Dina when find you find yourself in line at universal studios trying to find your e-ticket, but are stuck scrolling though pages and pages of 17th Shard notifications...

 

Fear not, I eventually got in, and will turn off notifications soon enough, though right now Im busy trying to get this Harry Potter "interactive" wand to control something in my house.
