You know you're a Sanderfan when...

you're listening to the close of the Republican National Convention (2016, here in Cleveland - hence my interest)...

and in his acceptance speech, the candidate says he will "remember those who are forgotten" (or something extremely similar)...

and you immediately wonder if he just took the first Edgedancer oath and will start Surgebinding any minute and talking to his spren about his "awesomeness"...

after all, some people think he's already quite "slick"

** I trust you, Shardian friends, to not let this post get us off-track into politics. It just gave me such a chuckle that, in the middle of a real-world speech, my brain went immediately to Roshar. ^_^

Second oath, to be precise.

You know you're a sanderfan when you start judging people by whether or not they are a 'reckoners is cosmere' type of person.  This actually happened to me, albeit in the middle of a conversation about conspiracy theories.

That would require a Soulcaster ardent in the conspiracy and they are well protected. Because from what I've read it seems that they Soulcast huge amounts of food which is then given to the cooks.

But if we got Shallan to impersonate a cook and getting tangled up in events and actually being required to make a cake...

Didn't this happen in Firefight or Calamity?

I wouldn't know.

You're a Sanderfan when you're constantly looking up things in the books...

Calamity. Megan and David were forced to decorate cupcakes.

You know you're a sander fan when you remember scenes like this in absolute clarity.

You know you're a Sanderfan when you own Kindle copies of all the books just so you can look stuff up quickly.

When you go to a friend's "Fandom Prom" dressed as Elend. Tons of fun and the easiest costume I've ever done.

When you're looking through Malta travel guide and start to wonder if Brandon didn't take at least some inspiration from Maltese when creating parts of Roshar.

I mean, "Marsaxlokk" sounds like it could share border with Tashikk or Sesemalex Dar.

You mean it doesn't?

You know you're a Sanderfan when you throw a handful of coins at someone and you're actually disappointed when they don't do anything.

(True story)

I want the rest of the story.

I was very annoyed by my brother, and all I had was a handful of pennies. I thought it probably wouldn't work, but what the heck.

When you immediately start looking for ways to get your hands on any book that Brandon blurbs or praises.

When you go to a family reunion and a few of your relatives start calling you "The Walking Encyclopedia of All Things Sanderson".

And when you get those relatives to drive to Barnes and Noble and dive face-first into Brandon's books.

When you start lending out all your Sanderson books to all the people and get really into getting people into the cosmere (I may have created personalised reading order lists for my friends....)
