Mid-Range Game 5: Competing Realities

I don't trust the information that Mailliw posted.  Some of it is probably correct, but we don't know what is correct and what isn't.  One of the players he "outed" claimed directly to me in 1:1 PM that they belong to a different faction. And he got my faction wrong, as well.  Finally, anybody can claim any role in PM's, from which he had to draw his information (since there are no role-finding abilities other than the SK).  There is virtually no way to conclusively prove so many roles after just 2 cycles, so Mailliw was essentially just playing a guessing game.

 

That doesn't mean I'll be completely ignoring all his claims, but I'm not taking any of it as the absolute truth.

A quick explanation about "House Urbain" for all the new players. In Long Game 7 - Wyrmhero was the GM - the players were divided between Houses, and each House had their own Google Docs. It was a fairly memorable Game, and some Houses stuck around even after the Game had ended and the Houses were dissolved. House Urbain - Gamma's House - still lingers, along with their 100+ page Doc (Seriously, how did you achieve that with only 4 people!?).

Karlin was devising a plan, at the current rate it wont be long til most of his competition was gone. He needed two things, firstly he needed some allies. He had heard from one of his Spren spies (geez it was good to use his powers again) that a building had collapsed onto someone. Maybe if he helped out the person would be in his debt, if not he could just loot the place. secondly he needed to get in contact with his team. He'd sent out three wind spren with the task of finding out who he could trust. For now he just needed to find some food.

People who are wondering who to vote for: are you all forgetting the post in the main thread where Phattemer said he was a Rithmatist?  Or the time somebody voted for Lu, and Phattemer was all like "You mess with one of us, we put a horse head in your bed!" (I am, admittedly, paraphrasing.)

Newan has a good point. It seems inconsistent to me to lynch Mail for his attempted bullying while letting Phattemer get away with practically the same play-style scot-free.

I agree with this and have some other sources who hint that Phattemer is the Serial Killer

Bortholemew stepped out of the shadows, having just had a very interesting chat with a colleague. That lent some credence to some of the public accusations. "Phattemer!" He called out, to register his vote with the powers that be.

What, exactly, is the point in killing the serial killer? It seems that a) if we know his identity, he can't do too much to us and teams with fewer members would have a chance to come back later on if the SK is still alive.

Somebody with a Roleblock Role would have to sacrifice their power to keep the SK if we don't kill him, and then it's too easy for the Serial Killer to make a deal like, "I'll kill a Librarian for you if you don't role-block me this round".

Guys, I have not been, am not, and never will be the Serial Killer. I am also not a Rithmatist. I was going to keep infiltrating, since I am practically the leader of the team by now, but it's too hard. I won't say what team I am on, and coincidentally, I was about to apologize for the threats and stuff. So the whole "let's not kill the Serial Killer" doesn't apply to me, so kill me if I can't make up for what I did. Oh well. At least I convinced about 8 people I was a Rithmatist (actually, since you all believe that, probably more) and at least two (ditto, more) that I was the Serial Killer. I told them this to gain information that I now have. I know almost every single player's team. Kill me and it dies with me. Let me live and I will PM each person who votes for someone else a list of 3 people's teams. They pick the people. I can't do this for everyone, so it will only apply if you vote for whom I voted for. (Renegade) If someone has a better idea than Renegade to kill, then I am happy to change my vote, but the prize will appear to those who vote with me rather than against me. If I don't give you the names, feel free to lynch me next time, even though I'll probably be dead from the Rithmatists anyway.

Edit: Oh, and me knowing the teams proves I'm not the Serial Killer, as they would know the ROLES.

Umm, maybe I am missing the point, but isn't that exactly what got the votes on Mailliw?  Threatening to reveal peoples roles and threats?

Phatt, you're assuming I told you the truth in that list I gave you. Why would I tell the truth about that much information? I'll admit that I was honest about some factions/roles but others? Not in the slightest. It wouldn't make sense for me to give out information about every player in the game and not give it to everyone. And even if I were to give out that information, I definitely wouldn't give it to someone who'd said that they'd put a kill order on me.

Guys, guys guys. Wilson btw I only had to use a few things from that list, most of them I already had. This is rushing into something that is not as a good idea as something else could be. That was NOT a threat. NOT a threat. It was supposed to be a bribe. But now, it is nothing. I will not reveal ANYONE'S role, unless I am still being lynched right before the round is over, because then it would be pointless to let it die with me. I can be VERY VERY helpful, please just give me a chance. You can threaten me WAAAAAAAAAAY more effectively then I you. Just threaten that you'll vote for me and I would probably give you what you want. Ok? This is like burning the Delphic Oracle because you didn't like what it said. Don't do it.

I'm kind of confused about what everyone is doing. Nobody seems to be coordinating as a team in the thread, nobody is trying to go after the winning team (rithmatist), and nobody was willing to trade a kill for some decent information. Am I just really inexperienced at this?
