Oh yeah. I think there technically might be, but we typically don’t bother with WoT stuff. I usually don’t approve a WoT character, mostly because their power system is so incredibly outside of the other magic systems. Plus it’s a bit of a grey area on if it’s a Sanderson world or not.

Kaiden, New Hallandren, Crater.

Ebon's rhythm changed again, to something more... Anxious? Maybe it was just the adrenaline from the explosion wearing off. The random people calling him a demon and voidbringer probably weren't helping either.

"Sure, lets go over there," he points at a half kind of upright wear house. "It should be mostly out of sight."

As he walked Ebon over, he asked, "If you don't mind, what brand of fused are you? I don't think I have ever met one of your kind before."

Ebonaryle, New Hallandren, Crater

Ebon kept an eye on the surrounding area as he followed Kai.

"We call ourselves the nex-im. Husked Ones. It's a great power, reserved only for... the strongest." Odium's most loyal, the voice in his head whispered.

"An explosion, little one." Kai glanced at the new boy, who also seemed to glow with stormlight. Huh. He'd have to check on him once he had Ebon settled and not being hassled. For now Starseeker was talking to him, and he was pretty sure he could trust a Radiant with a child.

Unless he's a Skybreaker. The thought came unbidden to his mind. No. There were good Skybreakers here. There had to be. And it would be just a minute.

Ebon spared a glance for the boy in Mistborn attire. The sight was almost.. amusing.

Starseeker, New Hallandren, Crater

Starseeker approached the rubble pile. Spooked, the Awakener hiding behind it bolted, running into the intact streets beyond the blast radius. Starseeker grimaced.

"I got here yesterday," Starseeker said in response to Kai. "Is there some kind of organised police here?" he asked.

As he rested under the scarred shelter, Ebon watched the Returned's actions with interest. Four radiants: a kind Windrunner, a Returned, a glowing boy and a Thaylen. Quite an odd group, yet for some reason, Ebon didn't feel threatened. Uncomfortable, out of place, but not treatened.

It was an intriguing feeling.

The mention of police made him snap to attention: Perses would have his hide if he got involved with any authorities.

He slipped back into Ebon's hiding spot. "Here's that Voidlight I promised you. About 6 marks worth. I've got to go help with crowd control, so I'll be back in a bit."

Ebon welcomed the return of the Windrunner, and immediately drew in the Light. He let out a sigh of relief as the power spread through his carapace, healing everywhere it touched. It wasn't perfect, but it nearly completely fixed the burns and erased the pain. In the thousands of times he had taken Voidlight, the feeling never ceased to entrap him.

"Thank you." And for the first time in a long time, Ebon truly meant it.

On 1/8/2026 at 10:38 AM, KnightSkye Reforged said:

"Cayansa!" He jogged over to them. "You're doing great. Just keep pulling people out from rubble as best you can, I'll try to get the rest of them to calm down." He gave them a quick salute and stepped into the middle of one of the main streets leading off from the crater.

He took a deep breath and summoned his plate, making it big and tall, even taller than normal. "Everybody! Stop moving!" He shouted. No one listened, and they all kept milling around, panicking.

Growling, he summoned Skye as her natural giant Shardblade, blunted, and slammed it into the ground, bellowing, "STOP!" a wave of wind and stormlight blasted out from him and frost formed on the edges of rubble and people's clothes. Science spread over that street.

Ebon watched Kai's distraction. He stood up. Now was the time to leave. He was healed. Nobody was watching him; even better, there was a massive, glowing distraction. No one would notice his absence. But still... something nagged at him. Was that... guilt?

Ebon shook his head. No. Guilt led to foolishness. These people didn't truly care about him... they were just following their instinct. They were foolish. If they knew who he truly was, they wouldn't hesitate to fight him. Ebon... was better off without them.

Still, it hurt a little as he slinked away into the ruins, and began looking for a way out.

I'm sorry, Kai.

Starseeker, New Hallandren, Crater

Starseeker, upon finally convincing a pile of rubble to become smoke, stepped back into the Physical Realm. His Life Sense immediately told him of Ebon's movement.

"Where are you going?" Starseeker asked as he moved to the next pile of rubble.

Cayansa, New Hallandren, Crater

Cayansa called out to the passerbys. "Hey! Don't just stand there! Help!" There was an awkward, shuffling movement among the crowd, but soon small teams of people had emerged. "You move the rubble there," they said, pointing, "And shout if you find someone. You go there. You go there."

Is this good? they asked Reyx.

Good at what?

People, Cayansa replied flatly. Reyx remained silent, which was never a good sign. At least fewer people were panicking now they had something to do. It was a strategy that had been used on Cayansa many times before.

At the edge of their vision, the Fused moved away, stopped briefly by Starseeker. Well, they couldn't worry about that now. Instead, they walked over to Lux, who smelled strongly of smoke, having soulcast away a fallen wall.

"Good job," Cayansa said, surprised at how tired they already sounded. "Also, would you happen to know if there are any emergency services around here?"

thanks! I really like the ideas of cognitive stuff, and I have especially liked the sanderson way of soulcasting, how it is more convincing it too be something else (a lot like leafspeak from WoF) which I think is one of the most inventive types of magic. I feel like the base, outside description of soulcasting is really boring and the full in depth one is a lot more fun and cool. (I also like how someone could just carry around a pet rock and it could literally be their best friend and they could have deep in depth conversations with a rock)

Ok, if you can, start getting rid of the rubble that might be in the way or injuring people, and get Cayansa and the Injured to the Cognitive Realm if you can talk her into it. Make sure it's safe first. I don't want a bunch of people here if something else happens or someone attacks. And where did that kid, Lux go? Keep an eye on him just in case. I'm gonna look for that Awakener you noticed earlier, did you see them?"

"Skye," he whispered, "Go find Jerrin again, and tell him about that Unkeyed steelmind. Maybe ask him to get Thalv and be ready to back us up in case something else happens." He swooped up, looking toward the Awakener had gone. "And maybe ask him about the Crimson Breath."

Saitaku, Mistkeep, Harmony’s Flower.

Spoiler

Uhhh, time to rp my way into why Saitaku kinda disappeared for a week while yall did your thing.

Saitaku stepped into his room. He’d managed to get it at a cheap price after only a bit of threatening, so it suited his needs for now.

He’d been collecting, he’d found himself some more spikes, all ready to infuse a hemalurgic charge into. But the rest of the room was filled with objects that might be useful later, including a small map of this place.

Apparently this place was called “the alleyways” it was a fitting name, especially considering how Saitaku has gotten here. All the worlds of the comers had access here, so Saitaku would have to watch out for any Ghostbloods.

I think I know enough to not get myself killed, and I probably should look at the other districts.

Spoiler

Idk what’s happening right now, I’ll look over the three pages I missed and try to insert Saitaku in somewhere

Cayansa nodded, then turned to see if there were any nearby locals who might be better equipped with knowledge. "In that case-"

Someone's coming! Reyx called, flickering a little way above the rubble. They didn't speak with urgency, but there was more than a passing caution in their voice.

"Who? Anyone helpful?"

Reyx just nodded - well, shone - a little way along the crater. Maybe.

The crowd of dusty civilians was parting, people lurching away with a determined look on their faces. Not my problem anymore, they seemed to be saying. Others with carefully expressionless faces were spilling into the crater, each wearing coloured cloaks over the same leather uniform. They moved in quick steps, not quite a march but not far off, and encircled the crater, silvery spearheads glinting in the light.

One woman in a cloak the colour of blood stepped forward. Even from this distance, Cayansa could see the frown slashed across her face like an old scar.

They look ... official, Cayansa thought to Reyx, numb.

Hopefully, Reyx drifted higher, then added. Their badges say New Hallandren Guard.

Cayansa nodded, and stepped in front of Lux. "I hope these people will be friendly," they whispered to him, "But if you don't already have a plan to run, now could be a good time to come up with one."

Jerrin surreptitiously patrolled around the crater towards the back of the mob, looking out for any further disturbances.

Ah, Rusts, he thought, seeing a large force of Nalthian Guards forcing their way through the crowds. Jerrin put his head down. New Hallandren wasn’t always friendly to outsiders. At the moment, the guard would hopefully be occupied by dealing with the devastation, but they weren’t always entirely reasonable.

Jerrin considered simply leaving. There wasn’t much he could do here anyway. But he also couldn’t just ignore an event of this scale. For the time being, he would stay to watch.

It's unlikely, but possible. Usually you would need some sort of magic to even recognize that an Alleyway is open. Like Perses could probably barely discern the borders of an Alleyway using bronzesense, and even then probably not know the specifics of the Alleyway without Belias' help. The previous main group that could navigate the Alleys (the Dark Alleys) likely used some sort of technology that could send pulses or signals that could reach outside the Alleys, but that's just a guess. Theoretically one could figure out what was done through hunting down older threads (or ask @Voidus, assuming they still exist on the Shard), but I'm not going to bother with that. You are certainly welcome to though!

Honestly your spren might be able to notice a difference in the cognitive realm, maybe. If you just want to say that an Alleyway is more noticeable in the CR, we can roll with that for now.

Perses, New Hallandren, Crater Periphery

Perses felt the newcomers arrive, many of which had at least second heightening. The New Hallandren guard were forces to be reckoned with, as they had been on edge ever since the failed coup of the district last year. The new captain of the guard was a returned that platformed on cracking down on resistance, harshening the punishments for even such minor crimes as vandalism. For something like this, if Ebon was to blame, he would be in real danger.

If you get involved, you could face the same consequences. Don't forget they have a warrant out for your arrest in this district.

Belias was, unfortunately, correct. As much as he wanted to help Ebon, getting involved at this time would just make things worse. Perses, dropping off the back of the building, used a coin to lessen his fall. It was time to get out of here. Which way did you say the Alleyway was? he asked Belias.

I will be Roping the guards for now, but as they are NPCs, rules act differently regarding them. You are more than welcome to godmod/take control of the actions of a particular set of guards, as they are here to act as assistance to the story you are telling, with their own story being nonexistent/irrelevant. I cannot guarantee timeliness, so if you want something to happen with the guards, you can absolutely be the one to do it.

New Hallandren, Crater

A year prior, a rebellion had attempted to take over the district of New Hallandren. The rebellion stood for power towards the uninvested, and aimed to target the most tyrannical district first. Before the rebellion, the New Hallandren government enforced an unwritten caste system, highly favoring the incested, and especially those with breaths.

Now, with a new leader under their command, and the fear spurred from the failed takeover still fresh in their minds, the New Hallandren guard was worse than ever.

“under the name of the law, put your hands up! All of you!” A guardsman shouted. The guards fanned out, weapons drawn. Instead of regular weaponry, New Hallandren guards, each of at least first heightening, weaponized their awakened constructs. Sashes, meteor hammers, staves, and whips, all awakened, laid at the ready. Lifeless guards held sharp weaponry, welding aluminum-lined sabers. Under the new regime, their orders were simple: demand compliance, and defend the threat with action when their orders weren’t listened to. “Radiants, dismiss your shards and get on the ground!”

Starseeker, New Hallandren, Crater

Starseeker realised that there was no way to hide his glow, but remained standing. He was a Returned; they might listen to him.

He raised his hands. "I am Starseeker the Adventurous," he said. He hoped that the people of New Halladren believed in the Iridescent Tones.

The head guardsman didn’t lower their guard, but seemed to relax slightly. “Are these people yours?” The man asked, in a gruff voice. He had a scar over his eye, and his biochromatic aura was quite noticeable, discernible as fourth hieghtening for the sufficiently invested. “And what happened here?”

Kaiden, New Hallandren, Crater

Kai floated back down, dismissing his plate as Skye, invisibly, flew off to talk to Jerrin again.
He glanced over toward where Ebon was. He didn't want the man being taken in or doing anything foolish-- He was gone. Damn, must have used his surge to disappear somehow. Well, good enough for now.

He sat on the ground and raised his hands, Letting Starseeker take the lead for now.

Now where was Cayansa...

Skye, New Hallandren, Near the Crater.

"Jerrin!" Skye hissed, "Kai has this handled. Someone highly invested went into an Alley over there," she pointed at the Alley where Perses had gone, "And the Fused who was here first is gone now. Do you know which surged 'Husked-Ones' use? And what do you know of a group called 'The Crimson Breath'?"

Starseeker glanced back behind him at the others, but then turned his gaze back to the head guardsman. He needed to look confident.

"They are with me," he said. "A group called the Crimson Breath set off a bomb. A... Husked One, I think he was called, said they stole something from him. I don't know much more than that. We were freeing people who were trapped by the explosion."

Someone 4th Heightening would probably not miss the fact that Starseeker's heavily suffused with Stormlight.
