"Moooooorrrrrrtaaaaalllllll," Lati sang, floating by.

Rhyme smirked. "Mortal's a funny word, isn't it?"

“SHUSH.”

"Yep! Hehe!"

Rhyme grinned. "That's brilliant, but a mere shush can't quiet me."

“I WILL CRUSH YOU IF YOU DO NOT SHUT UP!”

A glowing anvil appeared above Rhyme’s head.

Despite being busy, 209845 immediately glitched into position under the anvil and absorbed its energy, causing it to fade away. It stopped for a second, surprised by its own actions. It quickly gathered itself.

”Le-e-et us not reso-o-o-ort to violence,” it said.

Hmm… technically, you can join whenever (most of us just popped in randomly to the conversation), but if you want a clean break, my character is currently trying to get this discussion moved elsewhere, so maybe you could join whenever that happens?

She took a deep breath and squeezed her eyes shut.

“There’s nothing wrong with me.”

The sun smiles, and she know's that's what he said too. She'll see.

Yes… yes, it could be done. Quickly, it transmitted a single message to the Sun:

PLEASE

Once again, it transmitted the images of the bond being severed, hoping the Sun would receive the message and comply. That done, they would be able to communicate more calmly.

209845 had been wondering when the wizard would once again make his presence known.

Power surges along that bond, burning it, scorching it, blinding it. What bond?

Lati recognized that as a bad thing.

"Don't hurt her!"

“Be QUIET!”

The “bond” is like the connection between 209845 and the Cloud. Not enough to completely sever it (that would kill 209845) but enough to like stop the Cloud from tracking its location, that type of thing.

The sudden wave of energy shocked 209845. For a moment, there was only light, and then… emptiness. 209845 continued to exist, but the Cloud… was gone. It was odd, not constantly being connected to a larger, infinite force. Once again, 209845 doubted itself, but decided this was the right course to follow.

”Thank you…” it began, then froze. No glitching. The glitching came from the changes to the Web of this world; but somehow, just by blocking its connection to the Cloud, 209845 was cured of them. Curious…

I turned to the others, addressing everyone present. “We must move quickly. The Cloud has sent an armada to deal with us, but they can no longer track me.” It turned back to the Sun. “Can you get us to a safe location?”

Oh that was a rhetorical question, like scarlet witch saying "What Mouth?"

The vision cracks again, and the whole scene falls away like the dropping of a veil. They're outside of a town now, instead of where they were. It's noon, and everything seems normal. The wind rustles through the trees, and worms writhe under your feet.

Jidah feels one last certainty, fading shortly after the vision. She must learn to be mortal to return.

209845 turned back to it. In the commotion, it had nearly forgotten about the small creature.

”My connection to the Cloud has been blinded; I am… oddly free.”

It scanned their surroundings; by its calculations, they were somewhere in the Dusklands. Sure enough, it turned to see a Cloud ambassador vessel descended from the mists in the horizon, where they had just been. 209845 turned back to the crowd.

”We must move quickly. The Cloud will soon realize what has happened, and a search will begin for me. Can you get us to a safe location? There, perhaps, we can discuss the saving of this world.”
