It's like a platform that gets raised

The interior of the ship is covered in stuffed covering, covered in some sort of magenta leather. There's 2 women on a raised platform, one of which has her hands over a featureless sheet of silver metal.

The other women waves and gestures towards the chairs, with straps.

Dayla starts to sit in one, then walks towards the women instead, staring intently at the sheet of metal.

Aventine stood, taking in the vessel.

Litika obediently picked a seat next to the door and buckled up.

Watching closely, you see swirling patterns mother of pearl writing and a strange depth that makes your head swim.

"Hello Dayla." One women says, in a very strange accent.

Dayla starts. Mother didn’t send them. She couldn’t. But…did she? “Should I know you?”

"No. But we know you. You are on our ship, after all." She smiles "Who is that woman that troubles you?"

Dayla started again and turned to glare at the man. “Is this the only form of transport around here?”

Aventine heard this and came over, standing between the woman and Dayla. “That was unnecessary.”

Hm? Are you made uncomfortable by the ship's drive? They can only read surface thoughts, so don't think of anything you don't want to share. He says, without opening his mouth. The two women roll their eyes and glare at him.

"Nando! You never visit!" They scold him

“Maybe you don’t mean it. But if you can tell someone’s past is painful, don’t bring it up!”

"Really?"

"Ah. That is not your way in your world? To point out pains? You let them fester? " They turn towards the man who you now know as Nando "And you thought they were from Gugs? Idiot. They're clearly from another world."

He makes a rude gesture in their direction.

Dayla glared at him. Waves of panic immediately ran through her mind, covering every possible topic and then some. She sat down as far from the pair of women as possible.

Yes. Thank all the tiny gods.

“Of course not! You let the person entrust you so you can help them- you don’t force them to be in pain!”

She understood the basics of the gesture. Saying nothing else, she turned and sat with Dayla.

Dayla smiled tightly and kept fiddling with the wires from her pocket , forming them into what looked like a pile of trash, only there were tiny bolts of electricity jumping between the pieces. Then she took it apart and started again.

She watched for a little while. “They shouldn’t have done that.”

Interesting. Who are the tiny gods?

Little gods, of frost and fire and lighting. They come and go, bringing weal and woe to all who dare listen.

The women laugh a little at your strange ways.
Nando shakes his head in a way that seems to convey his dislike of the women.

Are they forces of nature, or actual beings?

I do not understand what you mean? They are not alive like you or me, but they do live.
