There's a couple reasons. Snow isn't nearly as clean as it looks, it's full of dirt and bacteria, not stuff you want in a wound. Also, since it's very cold, and will need to be applied derictly to skin, it's an easy way to get frostbite/ cold burns. There's also the fact it's just not a very good bandage, snow melts; which is not a thing you want in a something that's supposed to keep all the warm fluid inside you. It's better to use that same snow to boil some cloth and sterlize it, and use that to pack that wound instead.
