The greatest athletes from across the world have come to compete for the highest distinction in their sports! Records will be broken, dreams will be achieved, and glory will be obtained! An entire country has come together to build stadiums and arenas worthy of the best at their sports. The pools are massive, the gymnastics equipment properly maintained, and the skateboard half pipe is there as well. Just don't ask anyone about how much was spent to make everything look this good. And of course, the wandering spirits who toy with the lives of normal humans for their own entertainment have set their sights on this, the greatest of competitions. Surely, there's no way the spirit of sport could be ruined by the whims of body-snatchers... Also, that guy's still alive????" ~~~ Indeed, I am! Hoping to stick around this time too. Anyway, welcome to MR71, a semi-rerun of the Dreamer Quick Fix I ran many, many years ago at this point, but with a fresh coat of paint and many fewer PMs to juggle. Here's the main rule set for you to peruse. Spoiler OVERVIEW Rules: In most respects, the rules will be more or less the same as the previous Dreamer game I ran. As a refresher, the 30 anonymous accounts will be available as “Bodies”. Each day there will be an option for you to hop into a new body. Each body has particular abilities which will be of relevance for attempting to win the game. Teams will work together in order to strategize and beat the other teams for sweet sweet street cred. This time, the disembodied spirits have decided to infiltrate the summer Olympics. Previous rules have been set up so that nobody knows which athletes do what. The goal is to find, inhabit, and boost the performance of the right athletes and win the days events. At the end of the Olympics, whatever team has managed to win, and predict the outcomes of the most events WINS! Flavor points for trolling the normal humans as much as possible. ROLES The exact roles of the bodies will be secret until you inhabit one. Though, please note that uninhabited bodies will generally follow the roles they’re supposed to until inhabited, so interesting things are bound to happen! Spirits can only have one of two roles, that of a normal spirit and a strong spirit. The only difference is that if a strong spirit targets a body a normal spirit is already in, the normal spirit will be booted out and will be stranded for a single turn. In any other situation, whoever is already in the body has priority, and if two spirits both go for a single body, the ultimate inhabitant will be decided randomly. When you fail to enter a new body, you will simply rebound to your previous body. If a spirit is stranded, they will not be able to speak in thread until they successfully get into a new body. Of course you’ll still be able to talk in your document as much as you like. CYCLES Teams will have the first day (the opening ceremonies!) to strategize in their documents. At the beginning of the opening ceremonies, bodies will be randomly assigned. This will probably just be a 24 hour cycle, as not to drag things out. This will be a fixed time event, with 7 48 hour turns (not including the opening ceremonies). So please be certain that you’ll be able to remain active during that time period. If you aren’t, your team will suffer! Different sporting events will occur each day. You may enter your currently inhabited body into any one of those events. Depending on the body, there may also be ways to sabotage another body or boost your own to get an edge in performance. Just be careful not to get caught by the officials! There will be no daily execution, instead the daily discussion will be centered around predicting the outcomes of the days’ sporting events, which will be listed in the writeup. This will be the second way to accrue points besides being in the winning bodies. For each event, you may vote one body. You will get points if they win a medal, obviously corresponding to what level of medal they win. POINTS The point values are pretty straight forward. For being in a winner’s body, you will win: 5 points for being in a gold medalist 3 points for being in a silver medalist 2 points for being in a bronze medalist For correctly predicting the day’s winners, you will win: 3 points for predicting the gold medalist 2 points for predicting the silver medalist 1 point for predicting the bronze medalist Teams will be updated on their point totals within their documents. ACTIONS AND VOTING You will always have access to the body hopping action each day. Additionally, you will have access to any actions a body is capable of performing, on top of being able to submit them into an event. Even though those actions are provided by the body, in order to not drive me nuts I will request that all actions be submitted through your actual account. Basically all you’ll do in the anonymous accounts is discuss in the thread after the game starts and collect information. Additionally, when you do choose to body hop into a new body, that body will still complete its previously determined automatic actions. So while you won’t be able to direct the body’s action the turn you hop into it, you will benefit, or not, from whatever actions the body was already going to take. This also means you may direct the actions of the body you are currently in before hopping, though you will not benefit, or suffer, from the results of such an action. For example, if you are in Steeldancer, and direct him to enter the Freestyle 200, and then choose to body hop into Little Wilson, who is automatically entering the Marathon, then you would get points for whatever Little Wilson wins and not what Steeldancer wins. As for actual voting, the events listed in the writeup will be assigned a color. Please vote for the body you think will win in that color. For example, if the writeup includes the day’s events being Freestyle 200 and Marathon, then you’d vote Steeldancer and Little Wilson to indicate your predictions. TLDR: Find the right bodies to win the day's events, guess the right bodies for winning, and mess with other teams to prevent them from accomplishing those two tasks. Most points wins. As you can see, we will be using the anonymous accounts for this, though obviously a bit differently than a normal anonymous game. As such, please adhere to all associated rules with that. Also, I must please emphasize that you absolutely must log out and not get back on an account after you body hop. I will do my best to keep up with everything, but this is primarily an information game and sticking to the account you're supposed to be on will keep things nice and fair. Also, I do need a minimum of 8 players, and an absolute maximum of 16 players. And ideally not a prime number so I can divide the teams evenly. Though please be sure that you can be active, as noted in the rules your team will suffer if you fail to put in actions. May have to defer to pinch hitting because of the timing of the first day vs my midterms, but since it seems like that one's mostly strategy I can live with that for now. In as... Faleast? Gonna pick the name "Brennan" since I imagine this is following Dreamer canon, I'd probably have a non-fantasy name and I only know English names off the top of my head. 2

That would get WAY too complicated. Since ideally you'll be switching identities every turn or two that would be entirely too confusing. Your teams will know who you actually are, for the sake of all our sanity. Edit: Also, if you want you can just access your google doc through your phone.
